Fells going to TB is what a real contender does even though TE was far from a need for them.

 

Meanwhile the Bills refuse to bring in anybody from outside the organization unless they played for the Panthers and continue to hold a misguided belief their roster is supreme to everyone elses.

 

If this team loses to the Jets I'm at the point where I hope the rest of the season is a complete trainwreck so Beane can be exposed for the fraud he is.

I think that any money he gets from his new team gets deducted from what the Lions have to pay him since he cleared waivers.

 

So there isn't a financial incentive to signing with a team that wants him on the active roster right away.............and by choosing Tampa he is going to the defending SB champ who a lot of players probably think will probably rise up late in the season and win the SB again..........because,  you know,  TB12.

This is nuts.  A team with Gronk, OJ Howard and Cameron Brate is better positioned at TE than at worst 30 of the 32 teams in the league.  And THEY sign Fells???  Is there anything stopping us from trying to sign him to our active roster?

He wasn't in camp with the Bills and never played for the Panthers.

Brandon Beane should of made the move to sign Fells to the PS.  I think his agent seeing that the Bills are thin at TE would of

recommended him to the Bills for opportunity sake.

 

I'm a big Beane fan but this should of been a no brainer.

Again, show me where I stated that Tommy Sweeney was a good player...I'll wait.

 

Sweeney is an average backup TE, and Fells may be a slightly above average backup TE.  I wouldn't want either one starting on the Bills.

Fells ran a 4.94 40 at the combine when he was 20 lbs lighter than he is today.  The biggest thing that we are missing with Knox being out is the vertical threat that he provides.  Signing a slow TE is not what the team needs.  They need someone who can get open consistently and get deep when the safeties are playing deep and double covering Diggs and Sanders.

do you have a better solution?  Fells is a much better player than Sweeney.  He fills a need.  And makes the roster better.  So do you believe status quo is the answer?

did you watch the video?  I don't care if he run a 6.4-- he catches TDs and is a great blocker.  TDs and blocking- Bills need both!

"Beane may or may not have been in contact with that agent"

"X players agent says he wants to go to Tampa for whatever reason"

"Beane....understanding that we are biulding a certain thing here in Buffalo would rather not want player X if they want to be somewhere else"

Still probably faster then the next option which is playing with an extra TE on the field.....which we are probably going to if we cant improve our blocking.

He has 0 TD catches this season.  One less than Sweeney.  We clearly aren't going to agree.  Fells may be a slight improvement over Sweeney, but he is far from a difference maker.

he hasn't been playing much, TJ Hockenson is solid.  That's why Fells asked for release.  Fells has 11 TDs combined the two years before. Fells is a very good blocker though.  We can still sign him off Tampa practice squad

How do you know that he didnt?  Not all of this stuff gets reported.....as a matter of fact most of it doesnt or it ends up being something we hear about later.

We could sign to active roster off their squad right.  I think he's likely likely biggest no brainer of the year...blocks great aje has reliable hands.  Would help both in pass and run and could be had cheap.  But...alas we won't make the move.
