Bills Voluntary OTAs Phase 3

I don't see why you guys are so pressed?

He isn't some pro-bowl caliber vet. He's got ONE 16/16 season under his belt.

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/F/FeliJo00.htm

Just some average guard with a soft side that did some nice run blocking for us and now he's punching our 2nd round picks during OTA's.

He has started in every game he has played in for the Bills. He has position flexibility, which McD, and Beane highly value. When Morse is out, they move Feliciano over to center, even when we've had Long, or Bates listed as backup center. He very effective at pass protection. As a Bill, he has never allowed a sack. He also posted the highest run-blocking grade on the team (76.1).

And, honestly, these little skirmishes are pretty commonplace.

You don't punch team mates, man. Push, wrestle, grab whatever. Throwing a fist tho, now that's different, and they are WAY more invested in Epenesa than Feliciano.

Plus they got Lamp and Hart in the chamber and Feliciano got man handled by Chris Jones vs the Chiefs last season. Plus Feliciano's contract doubles in 22, 23?

Pretty obvious if he wants to turn his team mates into punch bags during OTA's he can pack his bags.

Sir,

I invite you to go and read training camp reports of other teams and see who is losing their cool and fighting......and then just keep a mental note on whether they are on the team game 1.

Usually its a big name star WR vs a DB... not a swing lineman who was the best option last year VS an unproven 2nd round pick.

I feel like Feliciano is childish for this man. Why hurt the confidence of a player who needs to grow? AJ doesn't need "to be put in his place" for making a good play.
And whats the media saying "the beef is squashed", how do we even know that?

As far as I'm concerned Felicano ain't Mike Thomas. And if Mike Thomas gets benched when he is a clear number one on his teams' roster, what happens to a player in training camp who might end up being the 2nd, 3rd best option by the start of the season?

Beane brought in a tonne of talent (physically/metaphorically) to test him for his spot so he shouldn't be doing bonehead stunts like this.

I still haven’t forgiven you for letting Pat Williams walk.

Remember when he threw you out of the stadium for wearing a paper bag over your head?  And then it turned out we were all better off when you had a paper bag over your head?

Defense had the edge in this practice
It’s always tough to judge harshly during OTAs when the pace and intensity are a bit slower and coaches describe is as more of a “teaching camp.” But the defense made plays against all three quarterbacks on Tuesday. Epenesa had the interception against Allen, undrafted rookie Tariq Thompson picked off Mitchell Trubisky and Josh Thomas picked off Trubisky in a seven-on-seven drill. Thomas also had a pass break up against Jake Fromm. Thomas was in a red, no-contact jersey but was flying around the field making plays.

Overall, Allen and the passing offense didn’t find much of a rhythm in this practice. Allen missed Tanner Gentry on a deep shot early in practice and watched Sweeney drop a deeper pass over the middle later in practice. Allen was without Diggs, Sanders and McKenzie, so it’s not a surprise the defense had the edge.

Levi Wallace won’t go away quietly
Dane Jackson has earned praise this spring for the way he’s played when given a chance to guard top receivers. But Levi Wallace isn’t going away quietly. The splash plays might not always be there with Wallace, but he’s managed to hold steady early in this competition, one that won’t begin in earnest until training camp begins. It’s important to remember Wallace has been dealing with training camp competition every year since he’s been with the Bills. Jackson is just the latest challenger to his spot. And this shouldn’t be a zero-sum game. There is room for both Jackson and Wallace to rotate and make contributions to this defense.

Isaiah Hodgins had a pair of catches from Allen on Tuesday. While he continues to wear a red jersey in practice, Hodgins has some of the most reliable hands on the roster. He’s a big target who catches just about everything that hits his hands. We’ve touched on Hodgins in this space before. The clear test will come when physicality is introduced into the equation, but he has an obvious understanding of how to play the position. If he can translate it to a quicker and more violent pace, he’ll have a chance to make the team.

Brandon Powell also stood out with two catches from Tribusky. He had four catches a week ago from three different quarterbacks. Powell was signed to compete as a return man, but he did have six catches for 103 yards in the season final for the Lions in 2018. He hasn’t gotten a lot of opportunity as a receiver in his career, but maybe he has some untapped potential. If Powell makes the team as a returner, the Bills may occasionally need him as a receiver given how often they spread the field.

What’s next?
The Bills have three days of mandatory minicamp beginning Tuesday, June 15. All three days will be open to reporters. The Bills will then break for the summer until training camp.

Oh man, I can't believe he put on all that weight. It was obvious from instagram pics and no further information that he was bulking up big time, and working out is a bad idea for running backs.

Ripster, this happens all the time around the league.  It’s not just training camp.  He cooled off and I’m sure McD or Daboll talked to him.  If Epenesa’s ego is that fragile that he will lose confidence in himself, he doesn’t belong in the NFL.   I seriously doubt he cared 20 minutes later.

"It was hot garbage, and I told them so," Williams said. "I
told them, 'Don't worry about it. I'm just going to play this out
and do whatever."

We don't need that kind of attitude. I promise you he wont amount to anything in this league.

I had assumed that he was getting leaner and stronger which should make him faster and less injury prone if he’s better conditioned. I never understood that it would be looked at as a negative

If he did, it was intentional. He posts his workouts on Instagram quite frequently

I'm wondering about that.

D-dawk just posted a video of a bike ride with EJ Manuel and another guy who seems to be a health and fitness trainer in Miami.  Both of them are shirtless, but Dawkins is wearing a black jacket that looks sweat-inducing.

Now it could be a cooling jacket designed to help him stay cool, or it could be a jacket designed to help him sweat some weight off so he "makes weight" and doesn't get fined on Tuesday.

Link?

IMO, it doesn’t matter if he’s 10 pounds over or under, can he keep up? (Endurance)

I think we have the answer here: Dawkins weight gain was NOT intentional or something the team wants him to do and the team wants him to take (at least some of it)  off.

Dawkins is wearing a black jacket  with a Bills logo that (I hope not!) looks designed to make you sweat more OR is some kind of cooling or weight vest designed to make you burn more calories.  In one of the video clips Dawkins is heard saying "Gotta get that weight off" and "Getitoffgetitoffgetitofshkii!"

These are videos posted on his Instagram Story so the link above will stop working after a bit.

If anyone knows how to pull videos off instagram stories, please PM me - I find all kinds of interesting stuff there I'd prefer to share as video

Talk to you’re grandkids old man fan. 😏🤔😂🏈🏋️♀️  Sorry, being a little snarky as you can take it.  I’ll ask my oldest son Chand as he is as Belicheat says into the Instasnapface stuff.  He may know.  You know those damn kids.

I am proudly a non social media person except this site if this is considered social media.  My friends get ticked at me, and my response is always if I want to talk to you I’ll call, text, or email you, or god forbid write you a letter, and you can do the same as I’ll always respond.
