I had that same question. Vacant?

IIRC, if there is a unanimous First Team selection at a position (ie. Kelce), there is no Second Team All Pro

So based on the way voting works, this means someone voted for Cole Beasley as one of their top 3 WRs in the league this year. That's pretty wild. The only thing I can think is maybe they tried to treat it like a real team and therefore gave a vote to Beasley as exclusively a slot guy.

Awesome achievement for all those guys.

Beasley just shouldn't be there though. He had a great season for himself, but this is just a weird quirk with the way the voting works where receiving 1 outlier vote from someone was enough to tie. There were definitely more deserving WRs this year though.

Beasley absolutely deserves it as recognition for being the top slot WR in the league this year.

that’s exactly correct. Since the voters only vote for a single TE, there is no 2nd team TE this year because no one came in 2nd in the voting.

Beasley is a good player but you’re fooling yourself if you think he deserves to be an All Pro.

Beasley making it is actually shocking to me.

He only had 1 vote but 1 was enough to get on the 2nd team.  Poyer had 3 but several other guys had more.  A lot of Bills had 1-3 votes and were not 2nd team All-Pros.  I'm guessing the one person who voted for Beasely wanted a true slot receiver on their roster.

You can thank Peter King for that vote. His reasoning behind it was if he was a QB and had to go against a defense, he’d want Beasley in the slot.

Metcalf only 1 vote after the start to the season he had? Dude really fell off a cliff in the second half I guess.

He still finished 6th in yards and 8th in TDs but you can only vote for 3 guys and Adams and Diggs were locks for 2 of those spots and really, Tyreek Hill should have been a lock for the 3rd as well. At any rate, DK was awesome this year but still not one of the top 3 WRs in the league this year.

Odd change this year to the roster.

Last year the AP all pro team had a flex position on both the 1st and 2nd teams. And only two WR spots on both the 1st and 2nd teams.

The 2020 team they got rid of the flex spot and named three WR's for both the 1st and 2nd team (five for the 2nd team because three receivers tied with 1 vote each for the third spot on the second team).

And the 2019 team the Flex player named for both the first and second team was also the RB named for that same team (McCaffery and Henry). Glad they changed it this year as having the same player seems kind of dumb.

Imagine had we kept Wyatt Teller! Always liked him but when we traded him there wasn't a place for him on the line.  Great for Wyatt!

He had and still has trouble in pass protection, not good for a pass-first offense. Might be better than Boettger in this respect, though, and he certainly is better as a run blocker.

Seems like a faulty way of using your vote.

Do you honestly believe Beasley is one of the 6 best WRs in the league?

Really a question of if he's one of the top 3, as that's what the voters are voting for.

he had some monster games. He also had 4 games with 3 or fewer catches.

Yeah he really fell off in the second half of the season. These are his projected 16 game averages for the first half of the season vs second half of the season:

First 8 games:

86 rec 1576 yards 16 TDs 98.5 ypg

Last 8 games:

80 rec 1030 yards 4 TDs 64.4 ypg

He was running away with the first team all-pro through the first half of the season.

Top 3 should have been Adams, Diggs, and Hopkins over Hill IMO.

Yeah I don't get Poyer being left out of these things. Guy has been great! Pretty mind boggling but anyways......

Same, its a travesty that Poyer gets no love here on these things, he is the most underrated and under appreciated (outside of Buffalo) player in the league IMO.

Howard over White...DaFuq outta here....They must have not counted last weeks torching against him.

This is very political. Just gonna our have guys show the league something during the playoffs. Lavonte David didn’t make the Pro Bowl, how’d he make All Pro?

I don't.  If I had Diggs and Adams on the outside however, I might prefer Beasley in the slot over the other guys though.

That’s like leaving Tre out of an All Pro team because you’d prefer to have an actual slot corner instead.

These guys aren’t getting together to play any games. It’s supposed to be a team of the best players in the league and Beasley was an odd choice.

Even if they were playing games, you could just put Diggs in the slot with Adams and Hill on the outside. There's no reason Diggs couldn't play well in the slot.

What about BoJo? He def had a great punting year... Even though he didn't have to punt much.

No one knew he was a punter most of the year since he didn't appear in stats.  Ha

Well.  If the slot corner was as dominate as bease has been at the slot then sure.

Can we take our homer glasses off for a second and just admit the fact that while Beas is a good player, he isn't one of the best WR in the league?

I told you Beasley would get the recognition.

Beasley got 1 vote. 1 single vote out of 50. It is just that the voting at receiver was such a consensus (49/50 voted for Adams and 48/50 voted for Diggs then Hill and Hopkins in the 20s....) that 1 vote for Ridley, DK and Cole was enough for 2nd team recognition.

Wyatt Teller, ex-Bill, made second team all-pro.  Good for him and the Browns, not for us.

Beane traded Teller based on his performance up to then, and it's hard to fault Beane for that.  Our O line was pretty well set, not great but good enough.  Teller was promising but not dominant.

After the trade, Teller did a Josh Allen, drastically improving his body and his game.  He's now one of the best guards in the game.

It is also good for Brandon Beane. The one thing I said he needed to make a jump into that top 5 GM bracket was some of HIS acquisitions to be pro bowl and all pros. Before this season he had a total if 7 all pro votes for his acquisitions with the Bills. Not 7 selections.... 7 individual votes (50 voters voting for each position and he had 7 votes for guys he had brought in to get all pro recognition. This year he got 70.

Admittedly Stefon Diggs accounted for 48 of the 70 but still....

He is one of the best run blockers in the game. The Bills have prioritised pass blockers and Wyatt still has some way to go in that regard. Still great great deal for Cleveland.
