I was thinking about this watching him run. For a bigger guy he has this crazy lateral twitch that he can do. It almost doesn't seem like it should be possible. It'd be difficult to pay him and Josh. But the guy is a monster.

I'll pass on someone that hit a woman on camera. It's the same reason why I would never go after Joe Mixon even if he became an all pro. He knocked a woman out in a restaurant. I got no tolerance for that bs

To be fair to hunt, mixon was 10000x worse. It's ridiculous he's even allowed to play in the NFL.

You get drunk, rowdy and half kick girls? Interesting .

Also, no. I know no one who got drunk and rowdy in a hotel lobby. Is that normal?

Our RBs are both fine. Exceptional? No.

But the problems with our run game fall as much or more on the OL.

Flexibility for a bad player to play another position badly is easy to find. Lots of bad OG/OTs out there.

Yes, true. But the idea that Ford is bad is a stupid one. You're right there are a lot of bad OG/OTs out there. None of them are as good as Ford may well be. His problem is that he was playing the wrong position for a long time, that he had to switch not just position but also side and do so without a real training camp, and that he is now injured.

He's extremely early in his career as a G.

I'm sure Kim Pegula would be totally fine with this explanation. Why don't you call her and try it on her? She'd definitely have plenty of time for you.

Sounds good.   I’ll just make her watch last nights game and we are all set.

Pretty easy sales pitch

If I was an NFL GM I would never have any RB on anything but a rookie deal.

100% agree with this. I am an advocate of drafting a RB 3 out of every 4 years somewhere in rounds 2-4. One more this year, let Yeldon go and see who emerges.

I would have been very happy with them picking Dobbins instead of Epenesa in 2nd this past year but Moss is okay.

they also described him in the game last night as a quiet grinder personality. So agree on not paying RBs, if you compare the two Chubb sounds like he fits the team better than Hunt

it looks to me like both our RBs are playing for the job.  i think after his rookie contract motor is gone, moss is gonna get more of the load, and i expect an RB to get drafted between rounds 3-7 next draft (likely later than earlier)

If you're an NFL vet who has already been in trouble for getting in a brawl at a casino, and you haven't locked it in that you're on camera in the public spaces of a hotel, you're pretty freakin' dumb.  Just sayin'.

Tell me more about this, Teddy.  To you and your buds, "kick woman" is part and parcel of "drunk and rowdy"?

You can't get drunk and rowdy without it?

Look, I'm personally all about give the guy a chance, but to make it into "good boy" vs "drunk and rowdy" is bizarro world.

I think where we need the upgrade is still on OL.

I can confirm we did try to sign Hunt last year.

Wish we had succeeded then.  Although I will say I don't think he'd look as good behind our OL.

I love our OL and I hope they're starting to put it together, but in most games our run blocking has sucked.

The video isn’t Ray Rice or Joe Mixon.

A bunch of young dumb drunk people acted like young dumb drunk people.

It’s not the end of the world, and he paid the price for his stupidity.

I know the holy crowd likes to flaunt their holiness but I’d welcome Hunt to this team in 21 with ease.

Teddy, if you’re saying maybe he didn’t do it and let due process work, ok.  There’s nothing holy than thou about confirmed hitting a woman, and as an aside hitting kids.  I don’t mean a quick spank with no Mark as they are so little they don’t know to not touch a hot stove, and you’re trying to save you’re little boy or girl from getting hurt.  I understand that one.

To hit a woman just because you’re rowdy or drunk is absolutely no excuse and you can’t make one.  It’s wrong and simple.  That’s not holy then though, just simply wrong.  A man doesn’t hit a woman even if she is awful and insighting problems. You excuse yourself and leave her.  More times than not, it’s someone you have a relationship, and just say goodbye.

You can’t in any situation excuse the action. Nothing!

Seems like a lot of effort for you to go through to tell the board what a great RB he is. It’s just not a guy I see this franchise align with. It’s not holy at all to reject a guy for such a violent act. I imagine it’s not the first time. Draft or FA could find Bills an option to upgrade imho.

Agreed.  But just because it isn't as egregious, doesn't make it into anyone who objects is a holier-than-thou "good boy" who's never been drunk and rowdy.

That's just a bad take.

What the hell kind of young dumb drunk people you hang with?

I know young dumb drunk people.  I've been a young dumb drunk people in my time.  I've taken care of young dumb very drunk people in the emergency room.  And I've never been, or been around, a young dumb drunk people who walked out in a hotel hallway to kick a woman after she'd been shoved to the ground.  That ain't right, and you don't need to be a Holy Water Vendor to see it that way.

There are some things you forgive a young dumb drunk guy for.  I've been hit and flung across a room by a young dumb drunk guy. He was passed out lying on a gurney at the time, and I was holding his arm so the resident could stick a needle in it to draw blood for a toxic screen and start an IV.  Needle went in, he reacted, the resident and I got smacked and went flying.  He was reacting to pain.  After that, I learned to pay attention to local concerts and take donuts to the security guards on the night some rock band with a name like the Thugs was in town.  The blood draws and IV starting went much smoother with 3 big goons holding the guys down.  They also taught me some moves.

True, and I think if you stayed on that line of argument you'd get little pushback.  But there's a lot of space between "not the end of the world and he took his medicine" and "anyone who objects has never been young dumb drunk or is "holier than thou" racking up "good boy points".  That's crap.

If it's true what @JGMcD2 said that the Bills tried to sign him in 2019, I'd have been good with it.

He's now under contract for a big salary through 2022.    Not interested in trading assets we must replace for a high paid RB who has motivational roster bonuses to stay clean and show up in camp and per game, when it's unclear to me that the RBs are the major problem with the run game.

Keep in mind Kareem Hunt didn't look that good last year in Kitchens/Monken's offense, so the scheme and OL are clearly of great importance.

I love Motor, and I wouldn't lose him... but RB is definitely a missing piece.

Chubb is top tier. But, he's going to be expensive. What's next years draft class look like?

In fact, one of the reasons the Chiefs and the league acted is because it wasn't the only incident, and because Hunt lied about it.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6452395/NFL-investigating-Kareem-Hunt-punching-incident.html

Again, I'm all about "he did it, he got punished, he should get a second chance" and it wouldn't surprise me if the Bills and other teams were too.  But to paint his behavior as just stuff only "holier than thou" types object to is cray-cray.  No team nor the NFL needs a guy who can't be rowdy without punching fellow guests in the face or kicking a woman.

Again....not saying an upgrade wouldn't be great, but work on the OL and the run game will improve dramatically.

So would you draft Etienne in the 1st?  Likely he's projected to go late 1st round so could be there if we wanted him.

I’m not a huge fan of taking a RB in the first round (generally speaking), but since we’ll be picking at #32 it’s almost like a 2nd rounder.  :)

I would take Hunt in a heartbeat. Of course with his extension he's now off the market. I can believe that Beane tried to sign him. I think he knows that the RB position needs improvement/an upgrade. I'm glad we lost out on the Bell sweepstakes though. The long layoff has robbed him of his burst that was the necessary adjunct to his patience as a runner.

I'm curious to see what a real nfl off-season will do for a guy like Moss. The physical metamorphosis players go through between year 1 and 2 is superhuman. Could be our Dalvin next year, I think he's got the tools.

man I hope you are right.  it also seems that we have issues run blocking this year, but Moss has underwhelmed so far as a "power" back.  More movement than I figured he had.  to your point, if he gets bigger watch out!

Get ready for Fournette next year. Beane reportedly had interest the last two off-seasons and he's finally a UFA.

Never pay a RB.  That position should be the cheap position and recycled with young legs every couple years.

Yep.  Spend the money on building an elite O line and any decent RB will flourish.
