OldTimeAFLGuy
PFT: Bengals at Bills MDS’s take: I’m not sure the Bills are all that good, but I am sure they have an easy schedule that could easily put them in the playoffs. They get their third straight win against a bad team on Sunday.(MDS took the Jets week one) MDS’s pick: Bills 24, Bengals 20. Florio’s take: The Bills are for real! (Until they play the Patriots.) Florio’s pick: Bills 27, Bengals 17.

Freddie's Dead
Just found out that Alex Van Pelt is the Bengals QB coach. I'm a big AVP fan. His best game as a Bill was the 1995 playoff against the Squeelers. After AVP brings us back, Kelly hits the TS to Thurman, then throws 2 INTs to seal the game for the Squeelers. I still think if AVP stays in, we win. Edited September 19, 2019 by Freddie's Dead

If my statements are somehow in violation of the TOS, please feel free to let me know and I'll gladly abide. Maybe the TOS have changed lately? Seems like that could be the case based on a few things I've seen--or maybe there's just some selective application. Any of those are fine, I just need to know the rules of engagement. As for how I fancy myself? Just a football fan. If others take my tone personally, they're more than welcome to address that with me directly. I've got nothing to hide. 55 minutes ago, Chandler#81 said: What if it turns out it isn’t misplaced? Will you come back to give a mea culpa? Rhetorical question. I know you won’t. A mea culpa for saying that this game isn't a slam dunk? Sure, if the game ends up a laugher, then I will gladly say that the bravado was justified from the get-go and I was wrong. Won't be the first plate of crow that I've eaten. Edited September 19, 2019 by thebandit27

I wasnt a fan of the signing because I personally never saw anything that showed he could be a TE 1 (to be fair I could say the same about Feliciano at guard but obviously i was wrong about that). And he appears to be fragile.....good thing we have a couple other options at TE, including the blocking sensation Lee smith lol
eball
Well, this news obviously stinks (if the injury is severe) but if there's any silver lining it has been the strong overall play of Lee Smith, Knox, and Sweeney. They played well without Kroft for the first two weeks and I'm guessing they'll be prepared to play the next fourteen.

Exactly, I've spent the whole week thinking, "But, I don't want Knox and Sweeney to get less time". I hope Kroft is ok, and that he becomes a quality contributor. However, I'm not upset.

DaBillsFanSince1973
3 critical matchups to follow for Bills vs. Bengals | Scouting Report Undercurrents A.J. Green is not expected to return from an ankle injury anytime soon. He told Bengals.com that it could take longer than the reported six to eight weeks. Green said he wants to make sure it’s 100 percent. The health of Joe Mixon’s ankle was called into question last week after a subpar performance against the 49ers. Mixon injured the ankle in the Week 1 game at Seattle, and by most accounts did not look 100 percent last Sunday. He had 17 yards on 11 carries last week. Cincinnati has the second-longest active road losing streak at six games. Only Miami with seven straight road defeats has more. Stretching back to last season the Bills have scored touchdowns on nine consecutive red zone possessions. It is the longest streak in the NFL. I just don't think we will. Yeah, this is where I am leaning. As long as "Bad Josh" doesn't show up the Bills should handle their business. The Bengals have a really good DL but horrible LBs and a shaky secondary. They play nickel D as their base D because their LBs are so bad which is likely why they struggle to stop the run. The Bills should be able to use Yeldon (If Singletary is out) on stretch plays and as a receiver out of the backfield to great success. The Bengals are also having to start their backup slot corner and I think Beasley will feast on him Sunday. On the other side the Bengals have very good receiving threats and match up well vs the Bills secondary, particularly Ross who is probably the fastest guy in the NFL. The Bills' secondary doesn't have speed. I'm hoping the Bills put White on Boyde all game and then bracket Ross - he's the guy who will beat the Bills if the Bills get beaten. As mentioned above, the Bangles OL is horrible which is why their run game has suffered. The Bills should be able to get pressure pretty consistently on Dalton and shut down Mixon. The Bengals don’t care about injuries. They tolerate them because it keeps player costs down. They re-sign eifert year after year for cheap because he’s made of duct tape and AJ green plays about a handful of games a season. They let Kroft leave because the Bills offered more money.

Eifert isn't even their #1 TE. Uzomah is and he's the reason they let Kroft go. Kroft couldn't stay on the field and Uzomah just keep getting better and better. They gave him the money this offseason (3 years $18 millon) and let Kroft go. I'm pretty sure the Bills would have preferred Uzomah as well but they took what they could get.
