I seem to have good luck there, but if i am there it is usually on a weeknight, sometime only 1 crap table open, and sometime i have seen a $50 minimum ...i be a pass line and come better..but i aint putting $50 on the line to start my night..that means i got two numbers most likely, and $400 on the table if i want to max my odds.....no thanks. I guess they figure thay get a ton of uneducated money that does not understand odds and the role of maxing out on them plays...but it is a solid no for me. And then blackjack...too many 6-5 tables in that place, have to hunt down the 3-2 tables and sometimes wait for a spot to open at the $25 tables, which is what i like to play. Understand the industry has gone don the 6-5 path..it sucks but you can still find 3-2 tables if you hunt them out at the casino you are in.

I’ve thrown in the towel on blackjack, unless I’m up huge from poker i think I played two hundred dollar hands at Borgata and had 19 on both and lost them both and called it a day ??? Good for the comps though. Mgm/Borgata tied together now

Johnny Hammersticks
I went to Vegas for 7 days and probably spent 2 hours actually gambling (not counting the sports book). It was a long time ago, but I won around $900 playing Caribbean Stud poker at Turning Stone. Four 9s. If I do go to a casino nowadays, I walk in with $200 cash and I’m done when/if it’s gone.

I prefer to hang out by the beautiful pools subsidized by the gamblers.

njbuff
I have been to many casinos, but my favorite is the Seneca-Niagra. I love that casino. I win a little here and a little there, but I am one of the sane ones that wins even a little something and then quits for the night. LewPort71
I am not a casino "Junkie" , but I enjoy going to the casino in Niagara Falls. My favorite casino day was in Las Vegas , Jan. 20, 1991. Mrs. Lew won $500 on a slot machine at Caesar's Palace and i was able to watch a great football game in the sports book area. At half time, me and my new friends from Rochester had the place to ourselves. I know the odds are against me, but I like roulette

BullBuchanan
I lived a 10 minute walk from a casino in Seattle. Best day ever was $3900 (Including a ~$1700 monte carlo royal flush bonus) . I'm 99% poker and only ever mess around with pai gow or keno or something when I'm in vegas with friends. I do enjoy a little sports betting, but again mostly limited to vegas and house money on Draft Kings. For the last 5 years or so it's been home games, some poker rooms, and a couple trips to vegas. Overall, rake free home games are way more profitable. Edited August 4, 2020 by BullBuchanan

Gordio
As much as I like to gamble, I stay away from the casinos. When I go to Vegas I spend 95% of my time in the sports book. I never go to the Casinos around here. Used to play a lot of Black jack & some Craps but I don't know, between the automatic card shufflers & the idiots at the table that don't have a clue the right way to play I have kind of loss interest. I never touch the slots. I have seen first hand what the slots can do to a person plus I like to see where my money is going. MY FIL, who I love, lost his life savings playing Video Poker, & when I say his life savings I mean he probably loss close to a million over the years. Sad but I could see how it happens. My friends old boss, who retired & moved to Vegas him and his friends created some kind of device on their phones, they would scour the strip and find weak roulette dealers that would spin the wheel with similar speeds everytime and they would be able to predict what quadrant the ball would land in. They made a fortune, but got caught & got banned from most of the Casinos in Vegas. It is an interesting story though.

Slot machines are glorified scratch off tickets with bells and whistles. There is absolutely no skill in playing them. That includes Video Poker. Basically, any video based gaming device. If you're not playing with a dealer, might as well go down the street to the bodega and buy some scratchers.
Ridgewaycynic2013
Bride the Second and I used to visit either casino in the Falls (Ontario) enough that meals were comped, and twice we received a very nice room. The reservation for one of the rooms was only a few days after a beloved uncle's passing, and his memorial was not yet scheduled, so we still attended. Dropped a twenty in a machine that was a 'theme' we enjoyed playing, never noticed it was valued 25 times the normal amount we normally played per spin. Paid off close to $500 on a spin, and a couple spins later, just under $200. Cashed out of that machine, and headed back to the cheap machines we were used to. To this day I insist it was Uncle Joe sending final regards from the Great Beyond.
teef
out of all the vices i have, gambling isn't one of them. i can't get into it at all. that being said, i love the atmosphere of casinos. the light, sounds, disgusting people, etc. i'll gamble way some money and move on. our favorite locally is turning stone. you can get a good meal there, either upscale or casual, but our favorite thing was the live music. they have a metal bar, a country music bar, a dueling piano bar, and i think there's one other. we eat, drink, gamble, then go listen to live music. it's a solid night away, close to home. a few years ago we would do the central ny scum run. it would be turning stone on friday night, followed up by the nys fair on saturday. last time we went, i destroyed myself on friday night. i needed to get out of the room, so we went to the fair early. the fair now really showcases local beer, wine and booze. since we were there early, the place was still fairly empty, and the vendors couldn't wait to push samples on us. by 11 i was drinking moon shine slushies. by 2 pm my wife hated my existence. she still hates it today. TheElectricCompany
I'm a sucker for craps - you can play quite conservatively and slow if you want, and its the best odds you'll get from the house. Plus, you'll get great drink service. The casino "scene" can be quite fun, depending where you're at. If you want to see gorgeous women and enjoy top shelf F&B, go to the Cosmopolitan. If you want beer pong and cover bands, you should go to the Linq. Vegas is a quick flight...I look forward to getting back there when this pandemic is over! Rockpile233
I keep myself away from the casinos because I love to gamble, but go once or twice every year. (Used to do a yearly vegas trip for March madness opening weekend with friends but wives/kids have ended that). I play a little of everything. Blackjack or three card poker are my favorites, I’ve had several good runs at both. My rule is always to walk once I’m +$1,000. My biggest wins are actually at Seneca Buffalo Creek. I’ve hit for 5k twice on the “Top Dollar” slots there. I’f I lose at the tables I like to take the last $100 of my bankroll to slots and try to hit something before I leave. Tony P
We don't go too often - maybe 3-4 times per year. Usually local but maybe once to either LV or Biloxi. My wife got a wild hair one night and suggested we go the new casino in MN (where we lived at the time). It was Saturday night of Labor day weekend. I sat down at a quarter video poker machine playing to win a car. $1.25 per pull. I hit the Royal on the 8th spin.
