YoloinOhio
Quote Here is what Kiper said about Gary: “Could the Bills get their Kyle Williams replacement here? At his peak, the 6-foot-6, 283-pound Gary is a menace who makes offensive linemen look foolish, but you’d like to see him do it with more regularity. Gary could play end or nose guard in a 3-4 defense or tackle in a 4-3. Buffalo could look at centers or guards here; improving the interior of the offensive line should be a priority.” Update - link to 2.0 Edited February 18, 2019 by YoloinOhio 2

Peace Frog
I personally suggested to Brandon Beane that on draft day, he should do what he thinks is best for the team. I can't divulge anymore details. 5
CEN-CAL17
Very likely this could happen. DL rotation. This kid can play anywhere along to dline. 6’5” 280 lbs, great athletic ability. Just an underachiever. Most blame is on Michigan style defense and not knowing what to do with the kid. McD is known to tap full potential. If he could get the bulb to go off, maybe this kid be special.
BuffaloHokie13
This pick makes sense to me.I don't think he's locked in at DT. He could play anywhere on the line for McD and I think that versatility is something our FO values.
Buff76ers
Top 5 D and bottom on Offense but Kiper thinks D is where we should spend our 1st pick. Dude sucks. 7 1

That did seem to be the case. The bigger issue this year was the injury. He’s not as polished as one would like but has all the raw talent. 3 minutes ago, Buff76ers said: Top 5 D and bottom on Offense but Kiper thinks D is where we should spend our 1st pick. Dude sucks. More defensive talent in the top 10 and we will be drafting BPA and not for need.

He knows we drafted Harrison Phillips last year and are trying to resign Jordan Phillips. We must go O in the first.

Coach Tuesday
I don't mind picking a d-lineman at 9, but this guy underachieved. 1
Happy
Can he be moved to edge rusher? A sub 300 lb DT...seems kind of small.
SlimShady'sSpaceForce
Unless the draft is deep in stud O Linemen then I;d be OK with "other" If not OLine has to be a priority
BillsVet
If they're going defense and it's waaaay too early, but I'd like to see a pass rusher if they remain at 9. Hughes is 30, Shaq is not a pass rusher, and so far Murphy has been too banged up.

Johnny Hammersticks
I’ve seen him going to the Bills at 9 in a few mock drafts now. Seems kind of small for a 3 tech, but I’m guessing he could add 15-20 pounds. I don’t love it, but I don’t know enough about Gary to hate this. Any Michigan fans out there have an opinion? ExWNYer
I understand that mock drafts, while fun, are largely an exercise in futility but...of all the pundits out there, has Mel Kiper ever picked the Bills 1st Rounder correctly?

BeastMode54
As a Michigan fan I'd love to see him on the Bills. That being said, he's a bit risky because of injury and not being utilized properly. He's a freak of an athlete though. So if there was anyone to hope for a high ceiling for it would be him. Just think I'd want more of a sure thing

Athletically I think he is similar to Aaron Donald. He played out of position at Michigan but if gets the right coaching he could be dominant. Similar to our selections in last years draft. I would be okay with the pick especially since there are no elite offensive players in this draft. Edited January 17, 2019 by billspro

Virgil
I don't want to spend a top 10 pick on a rotational player. Top 10 should be impact players. Trade back if this is what we are looking for

Our coaching staff has shown the ability to develop players though. I think he would be successful here.

H2o
Defense is deep in this draft, especially on the interior. I don't see us going DT in Rd. 1 because of that. On the second day of the draft? Maybe, if we don't get a FA to add to the rotation first.

Dareus was arguably one of the best DTs in football and was at a similar sack rate as Sapp through their first few year. All things equal, I think a dominant DT is more important than a receiver, since they are a dependent position. That said, I don’t see a dominant DT and the need isn’t big enough for us right now. Kiper just saw Kyle retire and just gave us a fill in.

The only concern I’d have with the Clemson guys is how much does playing with great players in the d line enhance their play. It’s really hard to double anyone on that line so I would guess they have a little easier job than a guy like Ed Oliver.
