2019 Movies You're Most Excited About?

Halloween Land

Jumanji 3! They are filming this month and releasing around Christmas... not sure if they can meet the deadline, but I hope they do. Dwayne Johnson ? ??

I'll go see the last Avengers and Star Wars, but I can't say I am excited about either one.

And Frozen 2 is the first time I am glad I do not have grandchildren. Frozen was horrible. I am not certain I could sit through a sequel (although Lion King and Aladdin look intriguing!)

Aside from Episode IX, not much.

Probably my most anticipated is John Wick: Chapter 3; those movies are fun

I'd like to be more excited about Alita: Battle Angel, because I think Robert Rodriguez is great and it has a good cast, but early looks are uninspiring.

Maybe Tarantino will pull off a solid with Once Upon a Time in Hollywood--the cast is dynamite, but he's gone way too far into shock-and-awe theater lately.

I'll also throw a nod out to Joker.  I'll watch anything that start Joaquin Phoenix, and maybe Todd Phillips can go more Very Bad Things and less Hangover Sequels on this one.

Lastly, I've pounded the table for a live-action He Man film, and it looks like we're finally going to get one in Masters of the Universe come December.

I don't think it will come out in 2019, and it's not a theatrical cinematic release, but I am dying over here waiting for HBO's "Masters of the Air" to finally make it to TV.

It's going to be a "Band of Brothers" type miniseries with 10 parts focusing on the aerial bombing campaign over Europe in WWII.  Been in development forever.

Last I heard it was expected to be on TV in 2020 or 2021.

Sick. Add that to my list.

The animated She Ra show on Netflix sucked ass.

Rocketman. Interesting reboot that looks like they took it in a different direction. Instead of being an idiot astronaut, they're making him a flamboyant piano player. Also, instead of the main character being called Fred Z. Randall, they're calling him Elton something. Should be interesting.

I'm not sure when that'll be released, but I think it's gonna be a long long time.

My 4 year old wants to fight you :nana:

Aladdin for me.  I love Will Smith and wonder how he will do as the genie although Robin Williams IS the genie.  I loved Aladdin as a kid so it will be really fun to go with my wife and kid.

He's no Dolph Lundgren.

I realize that--despite being the titular character--he's probably the least important casting in the film, but man, that really bursts my bubble when I was hoping for a Dwayne Johnson-type.

The trailer looks amazing

It definitely has a chance to be very unique compared to the rest of the comic book stuff. There’s so much potential with the character so please please please get it right.

DC released a trailer for Joker today.  I really hope they get that one right.

I have my doubts with DC's track record and Todd Phillips as the director.  Joaquin Phoenix is a strong choice though so who knows.

They've done pretty well with the last two movies.  I feel like they may finally get it now that they're focusing more on solo stories.  I don't really know enough about Phillips to comment on that portion of the post.

I do like the Phoenix choice, but at the same time, he feels a bit old for the role.  Even if he's playing someone well below his actual age, there still looks to be a huge gap between him and the young Bruce Wayne who shows up in the trailer.

On a side note, he looks like he's gone to Christian Bale levels when it comes to preparing for the role.  Someone get the guy a sandwich.

Wonder Woman was good but I haven't seen Aquaman yet.  As far as the weight loss, I hope Phoenix doesn't get too involved in the role like Ledger did.  Phillips did The Hangover movies and mostly other comedies up to this point so he's a wildcard.  The trailer makes it seem more of a "Taxi Driver" descend into madness type movie compared to a traditional comic book movie.  It could be very good.

I’m a huge fan of IT and was very skeptical when this new version was released. I was so pleased with how well it was done that I’ve been eagerly awaiting this ever since.

Now if only someone could do The Stand justice.

John Wick 3 FTW.

Godzilla will win the world wide audience.

I don't know how well it will do here.

It's supposed to be more monster action than any monster movie ever produced. But, I will believe when I see it.

But if it turns out that there will be a lot of monster action, this movie could be a biggie.

I saw a longer trailer before Endgame. Looks better than the last one, but Godzilla’s not right, his head is too small.

Also, Rocketman opens the same day, too early to tell but that may get the word-of-mouth advantage and make more money.
