so true, wow.

and yes agree, but sadly I think the red scare could turn into red fever then.....

Imagine if Joseph McCarthy had Twitter and social media back then.

My God we're a different country at this point. McCarthy was so much smarter than 45.

It's just too bad it was the perfect storm to get him into office.

It is about respect for the institution of the presidency. Liken it to someone handing you a payoff check for your mortgage and you slapping it away because you knew he were a dolphins fan. Totally over the top derangement...

We just lived through 8 years of "Obama is a Muslim Kenyan terrorist not born in the USA," part of which was trumpeted most loudly by the man currently in the White House. Respect for the institution of the presidency has been gone for almost a decade.

STRONG. He is acting like a BOSS!?

So sick of spoiled petulant brats masquerading as role models for our youth throwing hissy fits just to get attention. Getting invited to the White House is one of the greatest honors for an American. I didn't agree when Tim Thomas pulled this stunt, and I don't approve now. As much as I disagreed with President Obama, if he invited me to the White House I would accept in a heartbeat and thank him and even hug him when I got there. Meeting and shaking hands with the commander in chief is one of the greatest honors an American can receive, no matter your political stripes.

Well, there's the whole thing where Barack wasn't a misogynist, a bigot, completely unqualified for the job, an attention whore, illiterate, rude to dignitaries during visits and the most hated president of the country by the rest of the modern world. Other than that I can see why you wouldn't want to visit him.

Yeah I remember this one time one of my coworkers broke a rule, so my boss made all of us put our heads down with the lights out for 15 minutes. Or was that my kindergarten teacher?

Well, at least since Trump took office.

Must be another revelation coming in the Mueller investigation, or some other embarrassing gaffe on the part of this administration is about to come out.

Might have lost you. Are you saying because he's popular that he's a good president? He's not. He's an embarrassment who took power at the right time as it was lined up with an upturn in the economy which he feels correct in claiming credit for. But,... this is a ppp discussion really.

President Obama wasn't rude to foreign dignitaries?  He made the prime minister of Israel leave out the back door and walk past heaps of garbage bags! (It may have been his first visit to the white house.)

How was he qualified for the job of president? He was a college professor and no show senator!

He wasn't the most hated, but he definitely was very polarizing, just like President Trump!

Oh and P.S. you are DELUSIONAL if you think President Obama wasn't an attention whore. Or not paying attention for 8 years. Coin toss.

Yep.  There's no debate just pure hatred for the opposing side/view.  It's been escalating and escalating and now will be our full blown demise.

I wonder what warned us about that.....

I kind of agree with Trump here. The trip to the white house is basically just supposed to be a photo op. Why would he give the players the opportunity to use it as a platform to express their political views if he is opposed to them? You know the media would have been all over who wasn't attending and why. He can't control what they do at the games (despite his best efforts) but he can control who comes to the white house.

I respect the men and women who fight in our wars.  I admire those who protest wars they do not believe in.  I do not admire or respect a coward who hid from service and stands for nothing but himself.

I voted against him twice, and lost so called "friends" because of my vocal opposition to his policies. But if I were in a situation where the only way to save the @$$hhole were to take a bullet for him, I would do my duty as a cav trooper and take it like a champ. Just the right thing to do as an American, especially as a soldier.

But he proved 4 times he would not take a bullet for you..

If true then shame on them. Just lost ALL respect for the team and organization

I lost all respect for the Trump, not the office, with his absolute refusal to tell the truth. I actually like most of his policies, I would not ever show him the respect of visiting the White House, as he shows none to anyone else.

Refusing the invite is disrespectful to the institution of the Presidency. They can, it is their right. But damn if it does not make them look bad. Very immature, more so than the person they disagree with.

Trump has disrespected the office 1000X more than any player in the NFL. If you think continual mistruths are a show of respect to the office and the American people, I just don't understand that

Weren't the Eagles one of a few teams that never took a knee during the national anthem last year?

If so, why would they be protesting now?

It's more about Trump.  A guy who's political career started with the birthism bs.

This is whole thing is ridiculous. The players were like “we aren’t coming because you are an A-hole.” Don then was like “you aren’t invited anymore.”  That’s the most childish thing ever. The reason that they were “uninvited” is because less than 10 guys were  going to attend. That’s not a good look for Don to take a picture with less guys than the team has on the field on a given play.

Obama was a more eloquent speaker than Trump, and that is about the only thing he was better at.  Obama was propped up by billionaires with a global socialist agenda and is the primary cause of what is happening today.  The same billionaires with the global socialist agendas own 90% of the media and have pulled out all the stops to try and derail this president.  He was never a well spoken person, but in spite of all of the obstacles, our country has been on a constant upward trajectory.  People might not like, or agree with some of his tactics or demeanor, but American citizens are the beneficiaries, even the ones who are throwing tantrums.  The only reason the rest of the world hates us, which is nothing new, is because we have a leader who won't allow our country to keep getting bent over while we continue to implode.  I think in time, most of the short sighted people will see what has been happening, and be thankful for someone having the courage to take on the corrupt establishment known as the US Government.

Two wrongs do not make a right. I swore an oath to defend this country, and it doesnt matter if it is a Democrat or Republican or Independent or Green party president I will defend him or her to my dying breath.

And how has he outright lied? It seems every major "outrageous" claim he has made has come true. "Wiretapping?"

The whole Super Bowl winning team, as well as other pro sports champions, visiting the White House should end.  Mixing sports and politics is like mixing oil and water.  Too divisive  no matter who is in office.

Eagles players can choose not to attend a party.

The President can choose not to hold the party.

No problem. Agree to disagree.

I don't know about you but the flexing of the democracy makes me feel good.
