What if no QB with first pick

What if everything goes against us and we miss the top 4 qbs or don't want to trade up for the one that's left. If we were not going to take a qb with our first pick this draft, what should we do?

Is there anyone else you would trade up for if they were sliding to 8-10, or who would you want to see drafted at 12.

I personally would love if Nelson were slipping to move up a couple picks and grab him. I don't think that's likely but there is a decent chance either he or one of the elite lb's (Edmunds, Smith) will fall a bit.

Then I feel as if Beane has failed. They spent 9 months gathering picks and they can't take the final step (s).

Maybe then take Rudolf or Jackson at 22, which ever lasts that long. Still a colossal failure.

lol, you can't make a trade happen though, its possible 4 gone in top 5 and nobody willing to trade. So everyone would just take jackson at 12 then and if he's gone??

I too think it needs to be a franchise QB, but i'm tired of QB posts, what is the back up plan? I would prefer Rudolph at 22 and something else at 12.

Did we trade a couple second rounders for Aaron Rodgers?

Then I'm okay with it.

Then we take a later QB to go behind him and learn.

I think this is being completely irrational Sean.

Burning the stadium down is letting them off easy.

Hopefully this doesn't happen.  If it does, I'd like to see the Bills trade back as many times as possible for as many 1st round picks in 2019 as possible.  I know this won't be a popular idea, but the Bills have a ton of draft capital.  Given that each draft pick next year is worth 1 round less than picks from this year, if the Bills traded down in exchange for 2019 draft picks they could do what Cleveland just did and own the draft for the next few years and get a QB next year.

Hmmm really yet the NY Jets were able to get in a spot to get their QB.

Hmmmm

It is a failure of a plan that was set in Motion with the trade down last draft

I've got a bunch of pitchforks.

We meet at the stadium at dawn.

There aren't enough pitchforks in the state.

I'll be driving my ass up from Orange County.

Our fans went to Jacksonville and dominated every table within the city limits... And we were HAPPY.

I'm actually scared to see what happens if we don't draft a QB.

Like legit scared for Beane and his family.

Like witness protection, end of Goodfellas scared.

Jets only had to get up 3 spots and gave up absurd amounts of capital to do it. We have to go much farther. 12 is not as attractive as 6.

Hmmmm they only had to find a team willing to move 3 spots. Really 2 as that team isn't taking a QB. Colts weren't taking 12 with the Jets offering 3 free 2nd rounders. Jets were already far ahead of the Bills due to their 2017 finish.

And just saying trades happen. So those saying well we couldnt get there is bumpkiss. There was already One trade out in the top 5.

And why was this draft capital aquired again?

And when the colts Move again???

So again a trade happened. A package could have been made even at 2 as Gettlmen is saying essentially it is for sale.

OBD put this plan in motion they either finish it or it is a failure what is so hard to see about that

So 6 is high enough? It might not be. Can't move to 6 until the draft starts. 5 is possible. I highly doubt the NYG trade out of 2. With anyone. I'll agree, if the Bills don't get one of the top 4 QB prospects in this draft the plan didn't work. Could something else pan out? Sure, but the plan didn't work initially. There'd be no other way to sum it up.

Bingo!

Not getting one of the big QBs is failure, and there is no way around that.

Smith and Nelson will be long gone by 12. Not really any game changers past the top 10 or so. Maybe an OT or a DE.

Colts GM Ballard says he thinks there are 8 " elite" players in this draft outside the 4 QB prospects. Fwiw. That would leave one of these players available at 12.

Best LB available and then best QB left at 22. (Jackson or Rudolph?)

That's the perfect way to continue nondescript mediocrity towards another generation of irrelevance.

Like the Million Dollar Man once said, "Everybody has a price."

If you want to trade up bad enough, you can make it happen.

There's been exactly one trade made in the top ten of the draft. Moved a grand total of three spots. Capital means squat if no one wants to move where your pick is.

Totally agree with this.

I also think that the supposed "Top 4 QBs" have been much overhyped. I just read an article that said Darnold looks like a cow on ice when he plays, and you know what? I agree with him! LOL

If they don't have a strong conviction on a QB to the threshold of throwing a boat load high drafts picks at a team like the Giants, Broncos or Colts to move up, then they would be doing the franchise a huge disservice by making the move to just appease fans.

My hope is that if they do miss out on one of their guys (if it's true they even like one of them), then pick the "home run" "wild card" QB Lamar Jackson at #12. Go big or go home, there's no sense in playing it safe with an average talented QB like Rudolph. Swing for the fences with Jackson, and still have picks #22, #53, #56, #65, #95 to solidify the building process. They have AJ there to start for the whole season, so Jackson will have this season to learn and not be pushed into the starting role.
