TSOL
It's like buying a $160,000 Land Rover then selling it for $18,000 four years later because it needs a $7,500 catalytic converter. Heck, we've all been there before. Amirite?
MJS
Very surprised any team was willing to take his monster contract. Multiple off the field issues, poor play for years now, he's always had motivation issues, etc. Â I thought we were stuck with him for at least one more season due to the dead cap hit, but I suppose this regime views that as a sunk cost and just wanted to move on. KDIGGZ
I'm not sure why they HAD to trade him this year. Aren't we on the hook for his contract this year either way? I'm no salary cap expert but how does trading him now vs in the offseason help?
YoloinOhio
Â @spotrac The #Jaguars acquire Dareus w cap hits of $5.7M, $10.1M, $11.5M, $14.6M, & $14.65M. $7.35M of 2018 salary is GTD.

YoloinOhio
Â @albertbreer As for the Bills, theyd been looking at unloading Marcel Dareus and his contract for some time. Another culture-related move by new regime.

Kirby Jackson
Don't be an idiot. We still eat the dead cap for a friggin 6th rd pick. I'd much rather have him playing DT here than a 6th rd pick when we still have the cap hit. Â Guess you'd be happy with a 4th or 5th for Glenn too? This ^^Â I dont care if hes an idiot you should have just kept him through next year. $14M in dead cap space next year is absurd.

JTO
A sixth is basically worthless. That's a terrible idea. If Jacksonville beats us out for a wildcard. Ummm, Tom Brady was the 6th pick. So was Seattles QB, whos name escapes me at the moment. Martavias Bryant and Nick OLeary were late picks as well. Its all about scouting and selecting good players from 1st to last pick. Beane will deliver.
RaoulDuke79
Good. Now Jax fans can make excuses for his behavior. Â Dont care about the return. Getting this clown off our roster is a win. Agreed. It's sad to think what could have been, but he's had several chances and still doesn't seem to get it. But at least he's rich. Mission accomplished. Lurker
Â @RapSheet The #Bills had tried for months to trade DT Marcel Dareus. Finally get it done in exchange for a #Jaguars 6th rounder in 2018. The fact that they have been trying to trade him since summer and this is all they could get pretty much says it all. They are teams in much worse shape on the DL than Jax. Guest K-GunJimKelly12
We have a ton of cap space next year. According to Spotrac about $29 million.
