Blokestradamus
I was focusing on the OL quite a bit. Cyrus played well, looks a lot more sound technically than he did last year. Ryan Groy looked solid at LG. Biggest OL standout for me was 4th string LT Marquis Lucas. He needs bumping up the depth chart, he's got practice squad written all over him but he acquitted himself well. Guys that were poor? Fernando Velasco looked awfully soft and slow, no way he makes the 53. Groy will be the swing IOL. Chris Martin is absolute garbage and needs cutting this morning. Outside of OL, Walter Powell did enough that I'll mark him into a WR/KR spot on the roster. Duke Williams did well. I love what Bryson Albright can grow into but he's not roster-ready yet. His hand technique is there, just needs to add some power to the mix. I'd have to watch back but initial thought was that Max Valles had a nice game on the edge. I feel a bit better about depth in a few spots now I've watched them play a little.

Over 29 years of fanhood
I can't imagine they'd cut him just yet. Boom would be more likely to go because he hasn't shown anything even in practice. Think it's safe to say McCoy, Karlos, Bush and Gillislee are the top four. JWill may make the roster until Karlos gets back and then we stash him on PS unless he really tears it up. Jwill was striking in how he got yards after contact
section122
Tasker was brutal last night. Here is a quick list of misses on his part and I'm sure I'm forgetting some. 1. Called duke Williams a CB 2. Called striker and another player for making a tackle against the bills. 3. Said Kevon Seymour was an undated steal. 4. Kept calling nickel robey Nicole There were certainly more. I remarked to my family that I probably wouldn't mind as much if he wasn't an ex-bill but he was cringe worthy throughout the broadcast. Fixxxer
To me, him and Cardale were the best things to come out of this game and Cardale should have no affect on the team whatsoever this year. Aldolphus showed a lot of skills on a lot of plays. Very impressive. He could have a huge impact if teams are (rightfully) concerned with Dareus, Hughes, and Kyle rushing the passer. That was the easily the best part of this game for me. Jonathan Williams had a couple of nice runs last night, too, probably the only productive RB of the game. Estelle Getty
To me Cardale and Powell stood out the most on Offense. On Defense it was Seymour and Duke. No reason to keep Glass Goodwin over Powell. Although I root for Goodwin we have already seen what he has to offer in the regular season, which is watching the games in street clothes after the 2nd hit he takes. But no doubt these coaches will be fooled.
GG
This game clearly showed who's good in practice and who's good in a game. No one weighs have guessed that Cardale would settle down so well after hitting the bleachers every practice. Disappointed that Little came up small and Hankerson was invisible. I need to watch the game again to focus on defense, but for the love of God if Ryans insist on selling out on an all out blitz, they better have a tackling fundamentals clinic in camp. I always hated that play in their arsenal. Edited August 14, 2016 by GG
Webster Guy
Even if he has a couple insights his overall competence as an analyst is just pitiful. He's incredibly bad and I want to like him so much. He's so wrong so many times so often that yes, perhaps an insight or two gets lost in the abyss. But he's embarrassingly bad. You forgot to mention that he said the flag at the stadium was huge, "like an 8 or 10 foot flag he said" Ive stood under it, its more like 25 feet long. We laughed about that one

BuffaninATL
I think fans, including myself, don't look at roster spots the way GM and coaches do. It all has to fit together. A lot has to do with injuries at one time. A lot has to do with game day actives versus total 53 (meaning sometimes a guy will make the final 53 even though he doesn't often dress for the game just because he can play a bunch of different spots.) injuries are going to have a major influence on our final 53. For example, if the Bills decide to keep a guy like Colt Anderson, who is an excellent ST player but probably a #5 S, they may not keep Easley because he is not healthy enough at the beginning of the season and therefore a guy like Powell has a 100% better chance of making the team. If IK is out for two games instead of four, maybe a guy at a different position unfortunately doesn't make the team. The 53 isn't really, always, the best 53. It's often who is available in case of an unknown injury. agree entirely w/ your assessment, esp. in light of the recent injuries. Clearly the Bills have a big need for an rush OLB opposite Jerry so there's that too. I was referring specifically to R Bush Most of his best passes were not necessarily textbook fundamentals. That isn't a huge criticism because an NFL player really has to just make plays when plays are needed to be made, which he did in spectacular fashion a few times. But he threw off his back foot a lot. His arm strength got him out of trouble more than a few times which can often backfire. That is not to say he wasn't totally impressive. He surely was. I loved a bunch of plays he made. But it was playmaking rather than fundamentally sound quarterbacking that was so impressive. Some guys just have it. Maybe we got lucky. It couldn't have been more impressive for the most part. But a lot of the stuff he did well is not necessarily stuff that is sustainable. perfect, again
4BillsintheBurgh
Big C has a good list but wanted to add I noticed Valles' athleticism a couple times. Maybe he can get thrown into the fire and help us out at olb. I was focusing on the OL quite a bit. Cyrus played well, looks a lot more sound technically than he did last year. Ryan Groy looked solid at LG. Biggest OL standout for me was 4th string LT Marquis Lucas. I feel a bit better about depth in a few spots now I've watched them play a little. I thought Groy could have missed a couple assignments, especially on the one sack. I also thought Cardale made plays, but for example on the last td pass it looked like someone (hankerson) broke to the deep corner for an easy td but cardale didn't see him. The nice thing is cardale has the arm talent to throw a bullet on the money to make it all better. He looked like he did in college; with his feet under him he can make some plays. There were some bad throws in there too along with some bad decisions. I feel more comfortable with him being a backup next year at this point. By the end of his rookie contract we may have a big decision to make. Hopefully it will be an easy one. Green Lightning
Adolphus looked awesome. He's got that Dareus-type lower body and the rook can shed blockers. SWATeam
Surprised no mention of Worthy, I thought he was solid. With him and Adolphus in the mix our Dline should be great again. I thought Duke was the best player in the game, he was everywhere. Blanton was solid as well- we're deep throughout the secondary. Also, expect much better LB play this year. Looks like the unit as a whole has a better grasp of everything. We have a talented and deep team folks. Thanks Whaley

Of course I could be wrong on this too. They definitely plan to use Bush in that role, but they would use him more if (knock on wood) we suffer some injuries to the RB corps. He's good to have because he can be used in a specialist type role for the most part but be able to step up if there is a need. It helps save a spot on the 53. But if JWill looks solid he could stay on the roster all year too.
