There hasn't been anything wrong with the defensive gameplan...the players have to execute. The penalties on the other hand show a poorly coached team. TD called back followed by an missed FD and a 4th and goal from the 2 swing pass for no gain. Mistake after mistake. On the field and with the coaching staff. The defense is not a top 10 one.
