This is a McD move not Beane. I guarantee it

You may be right, but what’s the difference? It’s Beane’s job to construct the roster. If Sean wants a guy we couldn’t get rid of fast enough 2 seasons ago, what can we expect now?The problem is our fan base is great and they sell games out and support the team on the road and now we have the new stadium. Sean and Beane are not going anywhere. If they just make the playoffs, which having Josh guarantees, everyone gets a pass. The sad reality is before we lost 3!great defenders, we had a real shot.

A guy who knows this defense on the PS? At the very least he can mentor Elam and Ingram and Herb Miller. Same thing Klein was doing for Bernard, Dodson and Williams.

OMG. Elam must suck far worse than even we can know. It's only been a year from being round 1!🤮

Josh Norman, wow, just wow.

Might be the single worst first round crash in the history of the franchise.

"trade" for what?

Okay, I suppose, "ANYBODY take him and his low rookie salary"

Have you ever heard of Walt Patulski?

Um, well, uh, at least he was still getting gigs through last season. I thought maybe he was out of the league for a year or two.

On one hand, absolutely crazy. On the other, McDermott puts an incredible amount of emphasis on guys who knows his system. And midseason, he's going to value that over someone learning on the fly. So I guess I shouldn't be as shocked as I am.

Especially since there's absolutely no one out there right now and teams trading away good CB's midseason are exceedingly rare.

Edit: The more I think about it, the more I think this move is less about Norman on the field and more about a lack of a real veteran presence in the CB room.

Norman knows McDermott's D inside and out. I think Norman will be more of a coach to the young guys like Benford and Elam than anything else.

I was about to add. Norman is the new vet with Tre away from the team. Dane is still young. Norman should hopefully help the young guys out.
