What's on your Mt. Rushmore of Sitcoms?

This probably couldnt be added to any real Mt Rushmore given the circumstances, but The Cosby Show absolutely deserves serious consideration if it wasnt for, well... decades of drug-induced rape.

But as a show, and for the rest of that cast, it was such an amazing, important show. Plus it was hilarious.

Never saw it once.

Loved his stand-up records, I Spy, and Fat Albert though.

I've been meaning to watch "It's always sunny..."   It's on a few lists, I'll have to start it.  Never saw one episode.

The kid beauty pageant episode will leave you on the ground in tears laughing.

My Mount Rushmore list is shows that were

broadcast in B & W.

The Honeymooners

Beverly Hillbillies  (went south when they went to color)

Dick van "*****" show

Andy Griffith show ( B & W episodes only)

yes, I'm an old codger.

Seinfeld (except season 1)

Simpsons seasons 2 through 12

The Office Seasons 1 through 10

Always Sunny seasons 1 through 5

Parks and Rec (seasons 2 through finale)

South Park seasons 1 through 10

Short lived

Eastbound and Down Season 1 is phenomenal.  I don't acknowledge anything that came after

Arrested Development Seasons 1 through 3

Family Guy was funny early but got old quickly after it came back on the air

I think Seinfeld did it right.  10 years is about the maximum life span over which a show can maintain excellence.

Wonder years (does that count?)

family matters

Brady bunch

if wonder years doesn't count let's add the simpsons

That's a good question and I guess I don't even know how I would answer that myself.  I love the Wonder Years and it's one of my all-time favorite shows.  It's hands down the greatest coming of age show ever.  I think it is considered a sitcom technically but when I think of sitcoms I tend to think of shows based off comedy.  The Wonder Years did have some really funny moments but based on comedy alone I couldn't put it on my Rushmore.

Yeah I get that for sure. I'm a sucker for the coming of age movies and shows. So I'll just say this. If we were talking about "any" show, WY is in that list. fun topic man.

Every time someone asks a question like this, there are only two shows that immediately and always jump to the front:  Seinfeld and Cheers

I could stop what I’m doing and watch any episode of either show.

After those two there are a TON of excellent comedies that have come and gone through the years.
