Where was the leadership - Von Miller?

We were completely lost.

Who are the "leaders" on this team and did they step up??

You are absolutely correct. Nobody stepped up and got pissed off with the lack of effort on defense or the hot garbage that the offense served up. Diggs frustration at the end of the game could have been used much earlier.  Frazier is the last person on earth that would have done something but his Bears teammates  in 85 would have never put up with being embarrassed like that. Somebody needed to step up and get in the faces of that defense and remind them of the moment they were in.

Von Miller? He is not the leader on defense. Edmunds is supposed to be. He simply isn’t. Has anyone ever seen him get mad? Or huddle up his guys? Or take charge in ANY way? Nope!

He literally did that last week. You should watch the mic'd up video if you haven't already. That hit on Ahmed was one of the best of the year.

I don’t disagree with taking the flyer on Von. Our pass rush created legitimate problems for the 8 games he played (first time this has happened under McDermott).  The issue is why we had to take the flyer on the aging pass rusher.  We drafted three defensive ends and pass rushing DT in the first and second rounds and all of them were easily handled by a makeshift offensive line.

That’s it? He did it last week? Maybe you disagree but 100% I’m ready to move on from this guy.

Yes, that's it. You claimed something that isn't true so I pointed it out to you. It's not a philosophical disagreement. It's just a point of fact.

Haven’t had one on the defensive side of the ball besides Poyer maybe for five years.  This team folds when another team stands up and punches us in the mouth. It’s a reflection of McDermott and Frazier

It’s utterly obvious but people don’t want to face it. We have entire threads about Diggs showing emotional frustration on the sideline yesterday. Is ANYONE talking about ANYBODY on the defensive side of the ball trying to rally the troops during that same game? Nope! Frazier is standing there with his typical blank stare and nobody on the starting eleven looks to be taking charge…at all!

No, you just saw a team that was mentally and emotionally drained from having to climb countless mountains during the year and it finally exerted a physical toll on them.

Countless mountains huh.   I counted one.   The rest would be the kind of stuff other teams face as well

Oh...I think you should probably count better then.  No team dealt with anything close to what we had to deal with starting with the offseason.

Someone on the field has to step up and be the leader.  A player who's hurt and on the sidelines can't be the person to rally the team.  I'm tired of hearing how "emotionally drained" these guys were, from some of you.  Everyone has issues in their life, if you stop and reflect we all can say we're emotionally drained.  But no one is going to give us the benefit of the doubt on a daily basis.  We have to get up and do what we have to, just like they do.  Stop making excuses for poor play since October.  They haven't passed the "eye test" in months, way before what happened 3 weeks ago.

Ya There’s 0 point paying Edmunds 17-19 mil per season.

Their defence is soft with or without him, might as well use that money and invest it in the O line and WRs

They usually don't have guys rehabbing leg surgeries on the sideline

The kind of statement someone without a valid point makes

Oh it's certainly valid.

Well...let's see.

Tops Shooting in the summer

Massive injuries to the secondary seemingly the entire 1st half of the year(Hyde out/Poyer hurt/PS corner starting most of the Miami game)

Heat Exhaustion game in Miami

Snowvember game moved to Detroit followed by a short week again for Thanksgiving back in Detroit

Loss of Von(who was talked about as the "final piece on D")

3 games in 12 days

Second massive snowstorm/blizzard that killed 40+ people and having to leave early and come back to a crazy scene after missing Christmas with their family

Damar Hamlin situation and the emotional energy that it took to come play the next week

It's been a really tough 6 months for WNY. Maybe the toughest I have ever experienced here in totality.  There are times *I* felt drained this year from going thru all of this.  With a team that connects and feels as part of the community more than any other perhaps in all of sports would it be any wonder they felt that heaviness and the emotional and mental toll it took? Trying to win and play for all of WNY? Let alone them having to go thru all of the stuff with the football aspects and trying to keep it together(which they did a better job than I think any could reasonably have expected).

They are humans...eventually you simply run out of gas when you don't get a chance to refuel.

Von Miller is fine. My issue isn't with him. My issue is with the FO and the idea of him

We have drafted 6 players in the top 100 who were supposed to disrupt the QB. Next year we will have 5 of those draft picks still on the roster plus $20M on Von only to result in a mediocre pass rush.

Miller was never going to live up to the height or carry the weight of piling bad roster decisions.

Making the same mistake at the same position group 2x per draft for 3-4 years plus another $20M AAV can absolutely burry a franchise....and here we are....

The Tops shooting had no more effect on the Bills than the average person in Buffalo,  maybe even less so given the privilege afforded by high salaries in football. If the Miami game in the heat was still weighing on them in December ,  I don’t know what to say . The Bills were not in Buffalo for the brunt of the snowstorm and got bused back in on Christmas Day after flying to Rochester despite a driving ban and after asking inappropriately for a police escort:

I guess my point is starting to get through now?

That was Frazier I though we had a totem pole.
