He watched the movie like I watch the medical dramas my wife watches, looking at things in the background and saying "oh, that would never happen in real life."

Yeah it really broke the immersion for me when Telesco used defibrillators on someone whose heart was already stopped.  Everyone knows defibs are for shocking an irregular heartbeat back into rhythm, not restart a stopped one.

I thought them drafting a RB in the first round was the most egregious plot line.

Never watched it but definitely pure fiction if the Browns had a good draft.

Definitely would have watched it if they had made Buffalo the main character team though which under Brandon would have been just as much pure fiction.

Originally Buffalo was supposed to be the main character team. I believe they opted against it because it would have made us look foolish based on the storyline. I don’t remember exactly. But it was talked about when the movie came out.

Brandon as an actual NFL GM was always pure fiction.

Well, the Ralph did have a small part in the movie so that might be why. Costner contacted Russ Brandon about a trade. It was about 30 seconds of Bills game in that movie. Brandon looked like a tool.

I believe NY didn't offer them the tax incentives that Ohio did, so they changed the team.

Recent movies being shot in Buffalo seem to suggest this is incorrect. There’s been more shot in Buffalo in previous years tho point to Buffalo actually spending some tax incentives to do it. I just think it looked bad for us and that’s why they nixxed it. Just my opinion.

The funniest part of the video was when they showed Telesco the scene where Costner makes his first pick and showing the boos from the Radio City crowd, the Cleveland bars, etc...Telesco just says "been there".

I don't if they put enough pressure on Kevin Costner in the movie.

His dad, a legendary Cleveland coach, died a week before the draft.  This was the same dad/coach who Costner fired the season before;

His secret girlfriend announced she was pregnant the night before the draft;

His owner is demanding he "make a splash" in the draft;

He's got a coach he never wanted to hire and doesn't like;

His mother and ex wife show up with his dad's ashes a few hours before the draft demanding an ashes scattering ceremony;

HIs scouts apparently hadn't done any homework on the QB he is intending to draft;

IDK...maybe they could have added a few things like...he had a leg amputated and a lung removed a few days before the draft...or his brother Fredo went behind his back to be screwed over by the Rooney Family.  Or something.

This was 9 years ago.  The Bills did not nix it.  The film makers pulled out.

What is Telesco's reputation as a GM? It seems like they draft generally well but I feel the Chargers have been underachieving for the last 15 years.

He’s had some big draft hits but clear misses as well. The general theme is that he’s a good GM but has struggled hiring the right HC. Herbert should buy him time but that division is brutal and he needs to make the playoffs.

He got them Justin Herbert. He has a job for life

You'd think they would at least get what draft boards look like correct. "They only have one player at each position in every round?!"

Looked like the Browns and Seahawks had the same draft board too.

And I find it realistic that they portrayed the Jaguars GM as too young to take the pressure so he took advantage of him.
