4. Your favorite player of all time and your favorite player currently:  Fred Jackson, loved his journey, his attitude and just amazing field vision.  Now?  Josh!

5. Some of you guys have some awesome forum names. What does your forum name say about you?:  That I had to do something to make my name (Blaine) sound fun.

1. 1980. I was 10.

2. Even though I know of the tearing down of the goal posts for the 1980 home opener, I dont really recall it. My first and most vivid memory of 1980 was Ferguson playing on a bus ankle in the playoff game.  I've watched several YouTube highlights from the 1980 season in the past year and still Ferguson's ankle is what I remember most.

3. Best Bills memory. I have several. I have posted this before but being on the field for the entire Jets game in 88 with my brother holding cameras for Sports Illustrated.  Next is the Raiders coldest game in Bills history playoff game.  There are several more. Those in person include this year's Patriots playoff game, Bills at GB just because I was able go to Lambeau, and Bills Cleveland MNF - met Al D'Amato in the parking lot. As far as other memories there are too many to list that I saw on TV, but Kelly beating Miami diving into the endzone on the final play is my favorite.

4. Favorite player of all time is Thurman Thomas. Jerry Butler, Fred Smerlas, Kyle Williams, Fred Jackson, and Shady are all on the list. Current is Allen.

5. My forum name speaks to family and may need to change this Fall if I move back east.

You're like my twin brother from a different mother.

Young Bills fan. At the 59 minute and 47 second mark of the playoff game vs KC

Since I was a child at the rock pile. Off topic but freakin great, I stopped for coffee this am in college park md, Just off the beltway when in comes this couple, she has an orchard park face mask on and he has a bills pullover on. We greet each other with a heartfelt GO BILLS.  Rest of the folks in the store think we’re a bit on the mental side but what the hell, we’re talking Bills. Made my day. I miss home, I miss watching my teams in person on a regular basis. Thanks for letting me share.

That's awesome. So cool, bro!

While either is awesome, when you say you haven't missed a game since '96, are you talking in stadium or watching?

Thank you Bro. Haven't missed watching a game on tv, even out of state at times. Been to Stadium a handful of times.

1. Birth (my dad, from Germany, moved to Buffalo and was an original season ticket holder).

2. OJ rushing for a 70+ yard TD at Miami in the mid-70s.

3. Before this January it was a tie between being at 51-3 and being at the Comeback.  Now being at the “perfect game” against the Pats*** is right there.

4. I’ve always been a huge Andre Reed fan.  Josh is my favorite now, and I can’t imagine him ever being supplanted.

5. Mine is a college nickname that just stuck.

Hey Bills Mafia!

Besides staying up to date on all things Bills, one of the reasons I like coming to this site is for the Bills camaraderie. I figured the best time to get to know you a little more is to do this in the long abyss of the offseason. I'm sure there will be some that don't like this post and will flame it (ie- "Man, it's going to be a long off season", "🤦‍♂️" or worse) because it's not a Bills news post. That's fine, either move on from it or say why you hate the post and then move on from it. That said, if you'd like to participate, here's some things to answer.

1. You've been a fan since

2. Your first Bills memory

3. One of your favorite Bills memories

4. Your favorite player of all time and your favorite player currently

5. Some of you guys have some awesome forum names. What does your forum name say about you?

My answers:

1. 1988

2. Bills at Bears in 1988. We lost 24-3 in Soldier Field. I should've known then 😜😂

3. Breaking the drought and experiencing it with my kids/Going to the Bills vs Cowboys Thanksgiving game with my kids/Experiencing the 2020 season with my kids (While I have fond memories as a child, yes, the best experiences are with my kids because they're huge Bills fans as well)

4. Jim Kelly/Josh Allen

5. The first part of my forum name is obvious. Bills fan through and through! 619 stands for the area code I live in, which is San Diego

Okay, Bills Mafia, share (or flame) away.

619,  cool topic.

1.  My first vivid memory as I had vague ones of OJ, but I’ll never forget Joe Cribbs in the home opener against Miami who beat us 20 times in the 70’s.  166 yards for a 17-7 win.  It was incredible.  I was entering 8th grade at OMGC that’s now closed.

2.  Same as question 1.  I was a fan earlier, but only as a small boy and hard to remember the early grade school years other than my dad yelling at the TV with my older brother saying Ferguson should get fined for that INT or whatever.

3.  Beating the Jets to win the AFCE and jumping on that goal post personally for all of 7 seconds.

4.  JA17 is becoming my all time favorite, but in the day loved Talley.

5.  We’ll everyone knows what MGK stands for and loved his heart, toughness and tenacity.  I’d like to think I’ve emulated some of those qualities throughout my life.

1.  I almost feel guilty for not being a fan sooner but none of my parents, uncles, grand parents watched football.   my younger brother gave me his hand me down tecmo bowl game and at first it was the rams....willie flipper anderson, then i found buffalo....andre reed...eric moulds, jim kelly...so i remember asking my brother if the bills were any good in real life.  he said well they went the super bowl last year..this was in 91...been a real life fan ever since.   watched them lose three superbowls.   which wasnt near as painful as the next 20 years.

2.  idk...probably losing the 91 superbowl.

3. hmm....come back game, beating tom brady with fitzy.  anytime we beat miami.

4.  Bruce...don bebe, fred jackson, meatball.     diggs...   josh, always been a big hughs fan.

5.   well...  i was on  bmbb for a long time as west side fan.   as in im from utah....(west side of the states)....one time i had a big fallout after a game and got kicked out.  but but i changed my name and came back...hence comeback kid.  came here when they killed it off.   not that awesome but it is what it is.

Early 70's born into it. Been on TBD since 2002.

2. Your first Bills memory

First real Bills memory was attending the rain game against the Jets in 74 I think, I was about 6. I remember it raining so hard we had to leave.

3. One of your favorite Bills memories

Several but the best was attending the 51-3 game against the Raiders. That game was a giant party right from the start.

4. Your favorite player of all time and your favorite player currently

Thurman/Josh

5. Some of you guys have some awesome forum names. What does your forum name say about you?

Chose Realist because I try to keep it real when I do post, but tend to be a bit more on the optimistic side. During the drought, I thought every new QB was the one. Now, we finally got him.

1. You've been a fan since

birth-1969.  My mother made Bills ceramic figures for me when I was infant.  My Dad took me to many Bills, Sabres, and Yankees(at Toronto)- many when I was very young, and can barely remember.

2. Your first Bills memory

I was at game Jerry Butler caught 4 TDs(1978?)  It was exciting to see Buffalo score big plays!

3. One of your favorite Bills memories

I made trip for 51-3 Bills AFC Championship game, that was special.  But my favorite memories are my trips with my father and brother to Buffalo last season.  My father and I have seen many Bills games together since the 70s, Shea Stadium, Sullivan Stadium, Giants Stadium..,

4. Your favorite player of all time and your favorite player currently

super tough question.

Carwell Gardner is probably my favorite.  What a badass!  Kyle Williams, Leonard Smith, and Lorenzo Williams

Josh Allen is obvious choice.  Im trying to figure out next jersey-Micah, Motor, Milano are possibilities.  I already have a Diggs and Poyer

5. Some of you guys have some awesome forum names. What does your forum name say about you?

So it coincided with me going away to university and at the time the monday night game and was on free to air network TV in the UK. So I'd get back fro my night out on a Monday night (big student drinking night) with my kebab or pizza, watch the first half of the MNF, watch the highlights of the Sunday games at half time and then fall asleep. I saw very little of the Bills.... our highlights were usually 20 seconds at most. It was during the Jauron era - 2006ish - when it became possible to watch out games in full.

Hard to say when I became a fan, I was born into it. Being the 6th kid and 4th boy the football games were a big deal every Sunday. My dad, my brothers, my grandma and grandpa from both sides and my uncle and cousins who lived a block away would gather in our finished basement in South Buffalo and it would get loud.

I can't say what my first Bills memory was but I remember meeting Elbert Dubenion and Ernie Warlick with my uncle when I was 3 or 4.

I saw my first game in '71 at the Rockpile (hence the 'Turk 71' handle), it was the only game they won that season. ☺

1. 1991. Preseason game against the Eagles in London - called the American Bowl over here. Watched the game and decided to support the Bills thereafter. I'd been playing as a youthf for a while, watched the sadly very defunct World League of American Football (that became NFL Europe) going to all the London Monarchs home games. Ah the heady days of Stan Gelbaugh and Dedrick Dodge. Anyway, though I watched NFL games, I didn't really have a team to root for, or a reason to pick one. So I picked the Bills as they had come over here and won the game. I was pleased to support a team so obviously on the up and up, thus looking forward to inevitably supporting a Super Bowl winning team.

That went well.

2. You'd think it would be the above match, but oddly I remember very little of it. IIRC it was mainly backups playing and I think Reich started. The no punt game was amazing and I recall moments from it. Kelly was a bit good that day.

3. The Comeback. Watched it in my bedroom. Cried after. Amazing.

Special mention to something I imagine no one else remembers or probably even saw, and it's such a small thing. During Superbowl XXVI an English presenter was on the sidelines - Gary Imlach - who was about my height - 5'7" - and he got shouldered out of the way by an irritated Biscuit. The size difference was immense and Imlach just avoided being planted on his backside. I still giggle remembering it. Loved Biscuit and always thought he was underrated by the football cognoscente at the time.

4. I always had a special affinity with Beebe. I played WR in JR football here in the UK - a team called the London Olympian Jrs - and as previously mentioned I am a       short bloke and was the third WR on my team.

But my favourite was Andre. Him and Lofton together were a thing of beauty. But Reed's connection with Kelly was at times telepathic. Or so it felt at the time.

Now, it's kinda hard to say anyone but Allen. He is amazing. In so many ways, not least how he has learned and improved every year.

Special mention to Diggs though. I'm seriously impressed with him, and well, he's a wideout. Most important position on the team. Obviously.

5. Simstim is a reference to Neuromancer by William Gibson, father of cyberfiction. Not much of a relevant reference. I would have called myself SimSpurs to represent both teams I love. But due to the San Antonio Spurs, the reference would be wrong over here, and I have at best a passing interest in basketball. So I went with an old faithful of mine. This might also have put me at odds with Gunnerbill on here, and quite frankly I respect the guy too much for that. One of the best on here and knows far more than me about the game, even though I have been watching for more years. Not sure how long I have been on here. Originally I couldn't sign up with a British IP and lurked for a while just to see what true/ match going Bills fans were all about and what they thought about things, till eventually I could join in.

This is why this thread has been really cool to read. I never knew about the Biscuit situation. I'm sure they were all frustrated realizing they were in the process of losing their second straight SB. If I'm not mistaken, the Bills were down 24-0 before they even scored. Hopefully others have been able to read things that they didn't know either up until they read it on this thread.

@GunnerBill is one of the young ones on here. 😂 Although, we do have another drought fan in this thread as well that rivals his youthfulness in @Strethor.

Fan since 1974

My best memory:

I was at the Bills / Oilers greatest come back game and instead of getting a t-shirt, I got Laryngitis.     (Go figure)

5 days later, I was still in bad shape, but I thought I was good enough to meet up with a beautiful young woman that I was trying to court.  She caught a terrible cold just from being to close to me while we talked.  She wasn’t happy.

25 years later I got another chance to talk to her and I didn’t waste the opportunity.

We got married in December of 2018.

Late to the memory Party...

1. You've been a fan since.

My Dad was a fan back in the 70s. My football card collection was sorted by teams and Buffalo players were always the most coveted.

2. Your first Bills memory.

Watching  Simpson break the 2,000 yard mark on a small TV at my grandparents house.

3. One of your favorite Bills memories.

Being at the Comeback game,  being at 51-3 game - lost my voice in first half, and watching Taron Johnson run back the playoff TD interception with my family all screaming with elation!

4. Your favorite player of all time and your favorite player currently.

Past: Darryl Talley (because I met him a couple times including about at a Florida golf course bar where we talked for about an hour. Present: Josh Allen.

5. Some of you guys have some awesome forum names. What does your forum name say about you?

The Blues Brothers was one of my favorite movies and saw them in a 4 hour concert in Colorado's Red Rocks arena. The Bill's Blue color and the brotherhood of the passionate fan base makes me feel like we are Blues Brothers.

Go Bills!

Cool experience about Darryl Talley. Thanks for sharing.

I had a cool experience meeting Jim Kelly. My buddy got me free suite tickets for the Falcons Bills game in Toronto. At some point during the game in walks JK. I believe I’m the only one wearing his jersey so he ends up sitting next to me for a little bit. He signed my jersey and I got a picture with him.

1.  I grew up in the NYC area and was actually a Jet's and to a lesser degree Giants fan.  Moved to western NY in late 70's, still followed the Jets for a couple of seasons, then started more following Bills in early 80's and have followed since.  It was much tougher following a team from a distance back then as no internet or Sunday Ticket to watch games, so made it easier to switch to the Bills. Recall use to buy the Daily News on Sundays just to keep up a little bit.  Now live in North Carolina, but still follow and root for Bills as now much easier to follow for reasons stated above, plus this site.

2. Recall the Bills playing the Jets in playoffs in 81.  Also recall that song think was done to the tune of 12 Days of Christmas, ....MikerMayer kicking, Frank Lewis catching!.....   First football game I ever went to actually was Bills at Jets back around 1966 or so.

3 Probably the Oilers comeback game.  Was blacked out on local TV so watched in a bar called Marshalls in Rochester area.  Just like the stadium the bar cleared out quite a bit in 2nd half too.  Was giving them one more possession and I was going to leave too, but in the end didn't need to.

4.  Thomas, Allen

5. Use to live in Rochester area

One thing this site has done for me, and not saying it's a good or bad thing, but just that it has changed me.  There's only a certain number of hours in your day/week/month you can devote to sports in general once you get done with other things like eating, sleeping, working, family, etc.

I think this site has caused me to drastically reduce the amount of time I spend following other sports.  Use to watch a ton of college basketball, now hardly watch any.  SU becoming close to unwatchable hasn't helped much there either.  Don't watch as much baseball either or hockey.  Living in Carolina has helped reduce the hockey exposure too.

On the other hand probably come to this forum close to 365 days a year to see what the latest is and there's always some new story or rumor or something.  My wife will often ask, why are you on TBD, the season is over!
