Mic'd up: Kelce outsmarted McDermott/Frazier

The video confirms some of the postgame quotes we saw. The Bills timeouts did indeed help the Chiefs. By the way, Kelce didn't speak very quietly even with Addison sitting right there?

And Mahomes barking out his name, as if to say, "Cover him!" It's kinda wild.

Isn’t football just just incredible?!

12 months of planning.

18 Hour Days

7 Days A week

you ignore your kids, ignore your spouse

all in this Alpha Dog mentality to win at all costs.

and then …

a tight end (best in game mind you) says “huh…the seam is open.”

and the all that planning and prep comes down to #15 screaming “do it do it do it”

Sports…man.

The fact that we didn't jam those guys at the line makes me sick to my stomach. We cannot match their speed, so you have to be more physical than them!! Didn't the Bills watch the Bucs in the SB last year???

Obada RIGHT THERE too. Hit Kelce at the line.

His pass rush didn't matter anyway, Mahommes was gonna throw it in 2 seconds or less

I'll keep saying it, where are our all pro Safeties? Tremaine Edmunds? Who's job was it to blanket him? Coaches coach but the players have to execute. How do you not cover him?

Our safeties were 40 yards down the field.

A complete choke job by the coaching staff.

I want Levi Wallace to recognize this though. Play a little tighter. There is no one else over there and he has a safety over top.

Not just Levi, but just about everyone on D and coaches should notice that. I mean it's only the best TE in the league

The coaches put our safeties 40 yards down field, who was covering Kelce? Or who's assignment was it to cover Kelce?

No one was covering Kelce ... They were playing prevent defense in a situation where the Chiefs only needed a quick 15 yards....

It almost sounds like he has a microphone on or something. 🤦‍♂️

It was someones assignment to cover Kelce, y9ou obviously don't know. That's the real person you should be pissed at. Teams play prevent all the damn time and we had the #1 ranked passing defense whether we think we deserved that title or not it's facts.

Bills showed their alignment then took a timeout, then still came out in the same alignment. They did it twice.

Not only was it a horrible defense call they allowed KC a chance to see it and talk about it.

Others have pointed out that the alignment they came out in was a shell pre-snap and that post-snap they rotated to a different look.

But the Chiefs had a good idea how the Bills were going to play it

You can fear players TOO much.  They saw what Hill did earlier, and didn't want to let up the big play.

But, they had to prevent a FG - not a TD.  When I see the still picture of how far off our DB's and other defenders were playing, it just doesn't make sense.  It's way too much respect.  Combine that w/ 4 guys on the line - that should have really been 3 at most, but ideally 2, just to have some pressure.  But they weren't getting to Mahomes on that play regardless.

We basically played the last two plays with 7 defenders

We saw 2 games with 2 well respected defenses and defensive coaching staffs call plays that cost the game. Todd Bowles calling a cover 0 at the end of the Rams game leaving Kupp 1v 1 against a safety was just as bad imo.

We have 2 extremes. One coach being ultra aggressive and another ultra conservative in crunch time. Both teams lost.

Garbage.  Kelce this Kelce that but the fact of the matter is McDermott and Frazier allowed all that to happen by not covering either Hill and Kelce.  Any of us would have brought the Chiefs back with 13 seconds with all that cooperation from McDermott and Frazier.
