McD just reverts to caution way too often when the going gets tough… I thought he turned a corner after the 2nd Patriots game.

I disagree....he has been going for it quite a bit more on 4th downs and been more aggressive than used to be. As for this recent KC game he did pretty well until the last there.

Got to think Bills players must have been, and still are, questioning what their coaches were thinking sticking with their ‘D’ strategy, when it was evident late in game it wasn’t working, as the Chiefs we’re moving with ease more and more.

McDermott opened himself up to scrutiny unlike any he’s been under before.

He will be viewed by many from here on as suspect, and rightly so.

It lasted one drive vs KC.

There were two 4th downs where we clearly should have gone for it, and he punted. KC scored TDs after both punts.

Sure, he's aggressive and will run up the score on garbage teams like the Patriots.

He consistently shrivels up and coaches scared in the biggest moments.

I'm not sure about clearly should have went for it both 4th downs. I believe 1 of those 4th downs it was 4th and 5 or so. I do recall 1 of them I thought they should have went and didn't.  When 4th and 5 or more it's tougher decision

We punted on 4th and 1 and 4th and 4. The 4th and 4 was from midfield.

You have Josh Allen as your QB and are going against the Chiefs. Like I mentioned both times the chiefs marched right down the field and scored TDs.

Can't believe there wasn't a happy medium between calling what we did and then Todd Bowles in Tampa calling Cover 0 which allowed Kupp to beat them deep. I would have played aggressive and had someone check those guys at the line of scrimmage and let anyone else but Hill or Kelce to beat you.

Yeah definitely should have went for the 4th and 1. That's the one I remember begging for them to go for it. Other one, even at mid field, being 4th and 4 can be tricky. But anyway, yeah there are areas he needs to improve for sure, but overall McD is better than he used to be

I wish someone on this board would analyze the defenses in the final 13 secs.  On Kelce's 20 yard grab Wallace has outside leverage on Kelce so someone must have had inside leverage but who? Milano? one of the safeties?

We weren't defending against a 20 yard play. We were trying to stop the 90 yard hail mary.

Everyone is desperately trying to find an explanation. I get it.... It still hurts....but there is none. The coaches choked.

rush 3, 3 deep safeties and 5 across underneath making life tough on the receivers.

Squib and do anything to slow down with play and we are hosting this week

I don't understand how KC can blanket Diggs and Knox all game but the bills can't do the same with Kelce and with 13 secs left

You can't see the relationship between blanketing Diggs and Knox in the same game that Davis catches 5 TD passes? It didn't work for KC either.

give him a break....McD is "still learning"

in several more years, he'll figure it out.

I know McDermott isn’t as seasoned as Reid, but damn.  This is ridiculous.  I didn’t know that he called two TOs on that drive and did not adjust or change alignments either time.  Wow.

No one was covering Kelce ... They were playing prevent defense in a situation where the Chiefs only needed a quick 15 yards....

Stupid coaching,  prevent defence is when you are ahead by 7 not 3.  Sean and Frazier choked,  they could have just tackled/held Hill on that first play and you are allowed to do that once but not on consecutive plays.  Sean said in his presser that they considered it,  it most likely wins them the game because the Chiefs had only 3 secs left after two passes and both passes Mahomes throws the ball very quickly because Bills are giving Chief players free release off the line.

So they couldn't let anyone else but Kelce or Hill beat them in the final seconds? I'll take that any day of the week

Let's be honest here.

McDermott is no match for Reid.

McDermott is playing checkers while Reid is playing chess

It was one one the worse meltdowns in years,  he screwed up bad.  Like why did he not just go up to Bass himself and instruct him to do pop up or squid kick,  this BS of first telling the special teams coach who then never told Bass sounds like a coverup.
