Has Miami really closed the gap?
RalphWilson'sNewWar replied to billsbackto81's topic in The Stadium Wall
One thing working for Miami is they do have the only offensive minded head coach in the AFC East. Who I would also say is the best offensive coordinator in the AFC east. And with Vic Fangio, on defense that would put them as having the best two coordinators in the division. But what about Bellichick… historically he’s great, but he’s not what he was five seasons ago. And McDermott? Let’s see how long it takes for him to shake the rust off. -
Eli Apple signs with Miami; Ramsey Replacement

Just have a press conference on Monday and throw out words like, “family”, “brotherhood” and “water under the bridge.” That will make any outside talk go away. -
Chris Brown to start season as interim play by play guy
RalphWilson'sNewWar replied to Matt_In_NH's topic in The Stadium Wall
I really think they would benefit from an objective PBP guy. eric wood can handle the fluffing after every play and opponent team tear down. but the PBP guy needs to be a little down the middle. I’ve been doing some long distance driving on Sunday’s and had chance to listen to other home team PBP via Sirius Radio. The Eagles Announcer…he is tops in my book. Not over the top, not overtly gushing for the team that cuts his paycheck, and willing to dump on both teams when their play warranted it. now that I’ve typed all this, I don’t know if an objective play collar would work for the Buffalo Marketplace it’s not really a type of market place that wants objective coverage especially on game day. So, Chris Brown will probably work for the majority just not my cup of tea. -
Thad Brown the first to be offended by Josh
RalphWilson'sNewWar replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
Allen is an over seller. When he REALLY wants things…he oversells. On the field and in interviews. Young guy that really wants things, and really wants you to know how much he wants them. lots of time…he just pushes too much. -

Too funny. Everyone called it in the hours after McDermott PC. That the Bills “play” to clean this up would be to deny to and blame media. Mcdermott handled the deny/lie. Allen handled the blame media. Hopefully, Diggs is taking note of how his co-workers are acting like clowns to protect him. that should count for something, right?! -
McDermott & Beane Extended Through 2027
RalphWilson'sNewWar replied to BritBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Buffalo as a Sports Town has no Hardware. We have no titles. No established championship culture. So the fans of Buffalo, we have no great standard of the past to hold the modern teams to. Not that holding modern teams to last teams is some guarantee receipt for success. But it does expose that our fans and our community doesn’t really have any experience in recognizing when winning isn’t really as successful as it could be otherwise. which probably (if they all don’t get much better and win) will lead to Bills current regime being here much longer than they should. -
McDermott & Beane Extended Through 2027

We talked about it a lot during the drought…the 1st coach to break the drought would be so revered that they would be getting a blank check on their time in buffalo. It’s Buffalo, baby! you knew it was coming. It cAme. Now we roll with it. -
At the end of the day…this is just a hobby for us all. There really is no life/death ramifications to anything that is said or done by those in this league or the media who cover it. What I always say to the Homerish of Homers is “you do or believe in whatever you need to that makes you happy and in support of your favorite team.” in the end … it’s the willful ignorance that keeps Fan Bases thriving over the years. All fan bases.

Definitely. You only get so long in the spotlight before you have to have the hardware to justify it. Allen and Burrow are in the crosshairs now. Herbert, Hurts and Lawrence are on deck. Jackson is tricky. He has the MVP and $$$$. But the media narrative has cooled on him being some generational talent. So the national eyeballs aren’t really on him anymore.
-
No doubt people will watch. He’s prime time tv. but as his hype grows and no hardware arrives…the sentiment/narrative amongst other teams fans…is souring. It already is. There needs to be hardware to support the hype.
-
Inside the Mafia and with majority of Media, Allen will always have high praise for his athletic Ability and stats. outside those two bubbles…his career has already begun to trend more toward the Phil Mickleson, P. Manning (pre them winning) lots of stats, lots of highlights…but no hardware. it’s the type of narrative that leads to other teams fans and a national narrative that screams “stop forcing Allen down our throats.” of course that all goes away if he wins a title or MVP or both.

Schedule Release - Rumors & Leaks
RalphWilson'sNewWar replied to FitzShowUsYourTitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
They are really overdue to do that for Dolphins/Bills. 2023 Almost has to be Dolphins at Bills in Sept/Oct Bills at Dolphins in Dec -
I believe it. Ive been to games seeing fans raging over an Allen incomplete pass. only to look up at there is 14 minutes to go in the 1st Quarter with the score 0-0. 😂 Sometimes that excitement/nerves causes folks to really lose it.

Let’s split the difference (disagreement) don’t scramble at meaningless points in games.

It’s not totally crazy. Brady made a second career of simply killing plays that weren’t there from the snap. thd ball would hit his hands…know the play was a bust…and kill it. no scrambling. No getting hit. No wild throws that were intercepted or getting sacked and fumbled. just an immediate fire it into the ground. and everyone made okay. the Qb States clean and healthy and the game continued on with many more opportunities to score and win in the remainder of the game. not every third down as equal you don’t have to risk everything in the first quarter of a scoreless game or the second quarter of the game when you are down by a field goal. What would need, is to realize the situation that you’re in. And understand that every play is not “life and death”. Something our current bills squad for several years has not really shown an understanding of.
-
kill the play when it’s not there. You’ll last longer. especially kill the play when it’s not a vital point of the game. not all 3rd downs are created equal. Brady lasted 20 years. Because he knew when to kill the play. just kill it. No point hurdling a player on 2nd and 10 when you still have 3rd down to pick up a a play. great for highlights … not smart at all.

Brady, Manning, Bree’s, Rivers…etc have a killer plays by simply firing it at their running backs feet for decades. It is never called a penalty.
