freddyjj
That after 4 games in: Dawson Knox would have 4 TDs - the same as all Bills WRs total! The Bills RBs would have 4 rushing TDs - half of last years total RB Rushing TDs for the season! That the longest play from scrimmage is Devin Singletary's 46 yard run. Not a Josh Allen pass! The drops seemed a matter of concentration before looking to make the BIG play. I’ve loved his upside all along, and I think he can be a top TE in this league. Balance is a very good thing, and I love seeing us run the ball the way we have. I think we are #5 in the NFL in rush yards/game. The people who saw no need for a run game when it was easy to pass in the preseason should appreciate the way we were able to run in the rain and driving winds we’ve seen. An effective passing game is great, but there is nothing like being able to run when they know it’s coming to close out a game, and the defense just has no answer. That can suck the soul out of your opponent. 2 1

cwater10
The offense has been a surprise in style so far, but probably shouldn't have been. They have evolved in every year Daboll has been here. Keeping in mind that he is a New England coaching tree product, it makes perfect sense. If you think about New England's strongest teams during Brady's run, they could, and they did attack teams how ever they wanted, based on the opposition's personnel and the situation. They often changed stripes mid game, going from passing circles around a team to running the ball down their throats (with a cast of very effective and unspectacular running backs) at the snap of a finger. I think that Daboll is intent on rebuilding that perfect beast here. And I think that we may be in for a treat as his creation is starting to simmer into something special. When you pair that with the defense that Frazier and McD have put together, you have to feel good about the direction this team is headed. This is an extremely difficult team to beat. Sunday should be fun to see.
eball
I would love to see a couple of soul-crushing drives against KC Sunday night…the 12-13 play variety using short passes and runs to demoralize the D and quiet the crowd. Quick-strike TDs are all well and good, but not when you’re just giving the ball right back to the Showman and his cast of athletic freaks. 1

The first drive of the final preseason game showed exactly what the Bills passing offense should look like. Quick passes in rapid succession all the way down the field….touchdown. Now, if they can keep Daboll from getting bored up there just keep calling those plays until the Chiefs prove they can stop it. I’m guessing they can’t. The guy's starting to make people notice him, which will only help the other pass catchers in the offense.
Patrick Duffy
Yeah impressed with Knox. Guess that's probably why Hollister was let go lol. I remember I questioned how much/what impact the ping pong ball experience would help him improve. Apparently it has made a significant difference so far. Happy it is working out in his favor. Gilliams flexibility helps with the Hollister loss. Gilliam plays teams, fullback, and TE. Seems to be a gamer too.

Really need our DB's and Milano for this game. Poyer, White, T. Johnson, D. Jackson all on the injury list.

CorkScrewHill
So is now the time we should trade Knox for Zach Ertz ? Ertz 4 games 13 receptions - 153 yds 1 TD for $8.5 million Seriously like Ertz, but like young & developing &/or reasonably priced older players and Ertz doesn't check those boxes. Shaw66
I hate to be a contrarian, but I think we fans, including me, are pretty stupid about this kind of thing. We think that what we saw last season was what we're going to get this season, when in fact, more often than not, that is simply wrong. The Chiefs clearly are not the same team they were last season. The Bucs aren't. The Cowboys aren't. Nobody is. Teams evolve, rosters change, players develop, players get old, coaches change. Everything changes. One of the things I like about McDermott is that he understands this dynamic completely. He view his job as trying to figure out how to win this week's game based on the skills and deficiencies of this week's roster and this week's opponent. It is a constantly changing dynamic. The Bills' top-five go-to plays from last season almost certainly will be stopped by opponents this season. It seems pretty clear that defensive coaches have figured out how to slow down the Chiefs' best plays from last season, too. If Knox weren't better this season than last we'd be disappointed (a la Cody Ford). If Singletary didn't come back after last season, we'd be disappointed. Everything changes. Go Bills! 2

Bingo! Each year, everyone bases their rankings on what the teams did last year. If that were true, every year would be the same. Chiefs & Bucs top teams in 2020, well then they'd be the top teams in 2021. And if they're the top teams in 2021, they're the top teams in 2022. And if.... It goes on & on. At some point things change. You can't just go off the last season, some teams are going to fall & others will improve.
