Exactly how I had it in my mock

That’s also where I see it

I can see him really falling. When it comes to it, in a year where he hasn't been able to visit teams, I can see him falling. Teams will prefer the players they can absolutely see the fit for. I wouldn't be surprised if he falls out the top 10,maybe even top 15

The problem the Dolphins have is the same problem Cleveland had for about 5 years.  You have potentially 8 picks in the top 50 of the next 2 drafts.  You can’t develop and assimilate that many good young players into a team and even if you could, you can probably only afford to re-sign 4 or 5 of them at most.  I’d give up one of my extra firsts this year to make sure I get Tua.  Then if I have to move up from 18 for an OT, I can do that too.  I wouldn’t sit back and make 4 picks in the top 36 based on what falls to me.

I’m praying that the Dolphins trade away a ton of picks for Tua and/or to move up for a LT, but I don’t see it happening.  They traded away half their team to accumulate those picks and they have holes everywhere that need filling.  Using most of those picks to move up for an undersized, injury-prone QB and an offensive lineman is exactly the wrong strategy.  I think Miami has wised-up, unfortunately.

The dolphins giving up picks to move up and take a tackle, and neither the pats or dolphins getting Tua would be a huge win for the bills tonight. I do think Tua has a good chance of being a bust though.

I could see a yannick trade giving Jax Pick 19, and then them packaging that, 12, a 2nd and Fournette for pick 3 and taking Tua

Apparently the effort to get to 3 without giving up 5 was so that they could offer Cinci 3 and 5 to get to 1 for Burrow.

Bengals said no.

The Bengals know all the QBs outside Burrow are huge risks. It'd take a lot more than 3 and 5

I wouldn't accept anything... he's an excellent QB prospect in a league where the QB rules. Nothing would persuade me to trade out if I'm the Bengals.

That's basically what I'm saying. I think you're in the realms of absurd numbers of picks. Give me 5 1sts and I probably would and take Lawrence next year

Unless you have the 1st overall, wresting Lawrence from that team will be almost impossible.

Won’t know until tomorrow but doesn’t it seem like Laviska Shenault is going to be available to us at #54

Yes. He will still be available at pick #55 as well.

The dolphins could have just not played Fitzpatrick, been the worst team in the league, drafted burrow while keeping their million draft picks and been one of the best teams in the league in two years.

Fitzmagic was definitely a bad tanking decision but would have been hard to top the Bengals this past year. They even sat Dalton for a much worse QB and it paid off.

I haven't been paying very close attention to the top wideouts since we traded for Diggs - why the fall for Laviska?

Poor testing due to his core muscle injury, then surgery. Lack of medicals because of covid causing hesitation. He did put out a short video, though.

I don't think he was ever a first round talent. When you add to that legit health concerns as a disappointing combine very quickly you start to see him as an end of round 2 / early round 3 guy. I doubt teams ever had him in round 1. I think the draft media started a little high on him and when they begin talking to teams around the combine they catch up to the reality of what teams are thinking a bit. So if he has "slid" it is only placement within round 2 and that is probably mainly health related.

Yea I think Dolphins take Tua at 5 unless a team trades infront of them and beats them to it.

This reminds of wanting Roethlisberger but settling for Losman.

Detroit must be sitting back and laughing.  First Miami liked Herbert better.  Then it was they were going up to 3 for an OT.  Now it’s they were going up to 3 for a package to get Burrow.

I would assume the other stuff was just smoke screening.

The thing with the Burrow stuff leaking out of Miami is that when they end up with Tua, he’s going to know he wasn’t their first choice so much so they kept trying to get burrow on draft day.

Tua is a ***** ton better than Losman.... Tua is going to be good... it's a matter on if he can stay healthy or not.

I only meant trying to get your top guy, but failing and having to settle for the next option.

Wasn't pushing for the bills to get a rb in the 2nd. But after watching the interview with Jonathan Taylor on good morning football.. he's the exact type of player mcD wants. Humble hard worker, that gives credit to his coaches and teammates. Probably the type of guy that won't start a tweet war when he's a two headed attack with Singletary. Doubt he will be there at 54, but if he is id take it as a homerun.

If I were the Bengals, I'd string Miami along all GD day and make them legitimately believe they're going to get the #1 overall pick. And then when the draft started and the Bengals were on the clock, I'd go dead silent on Miami and let them watch on TV as Burrow gets picked.

Also take them out to a nice dinner and then ghost them.

So, is the best case scenario for us if this happens.

1 Burrow

2 Tua

3 Chase Young

4 Chargers trade up... Herbert.

5 Dolphins??? :lol::doh:

Am I crazy for saying I think I'd rather have Tua and Wirfs/Thomas than just Burrow?

I say yes only because I don't trust Tua to stay healthy.  He hasn't shown it in college and they are a bunch of different injuries.  He seems to be dinged up even when he isn't missing games.  Great player but availability is the best ability imo.  Also (and this might not matter in the long run) Tua has one of those crazy sports dads.  Got Tua to throw left handed even though he is a righty and allegedly beat him with a belt when he would throw ints.  More red flags than I am comfortable with when it comes to Tua.

I also don't like Herbert either fwiw.  I watched a lot of Oregon games this year (Pac 12 after dark was a godsend for late nights with the baby) and I just couldn't see where the hype came from for him.

if true, that's messed up.
