The Wuhan Virus Escaped from a Chinese Lab

by Daniel John Sobieski

Original Article

First of all, Wuhan is a place and not a race, and to identify the coronavirus by its place of origin, like naming the Ebola Virus for a river in Zaire, is not racist or xenophobic — it's merely accurate.

What calling this latest virus the Wuhan Virus is is a reminder of the multiple contagions China has spawned and released on an unsuspecting world.

1.  No, I'm sure it's a complete coincidence that it started just down the road from a huge bio lab.   Oh, and, uh.....racism or something.

2.  Good.  We need to throw lots of $ at sick leave, unemployment, etc. right now.  Cost of all this is small compared to potential downstream effects of millions being furloughed from work (beyond the immediate concern for those people).  Free testing is a good policy just to keep the panic down.  It doesn't mean we're going to test many more than was going to happen anyway.  If Dems got a few Easter eggs out of it, so what.

...EXACTLY.....denying it as the epicenter is like denying the epicenter of an earthquake......I'm sure the Wuhan happenstance was a MERE coincidence or perhaps the result of US Army bio-attack.....at the same time, what is even more detestable or vile is the MSM coverage...we have Acosta's xenophobia rant (SHOCKER), widespread accusations of US racism (travel bans, references to virus origin, etc), as well as partisan, political based attacks against Trump.....I do contend that he should have been more pro-active in declaring a national emergency much sooner to perhaps the full speed ahead nationwide panic of today.....we as a nation are in a sad, sad state of aptitude, clear thinking and sanity.....hate and vitriol are blinding factors like I've NEVER see in my 66 years.....

It's also a coincidence that China is projecting that the virus outbreak came from a US bioweapons lab.

That is one sector of the economy. Don't ignore the positive effects of lower prices on the consumers of petroleum products, which is much larger.

it’s actually not much larger. It’s smaller, much smaller. 10 years ago, sure. But the US is a net exporter now and if US producers go bankrupt because they can’t make a profit because their break even cost is around 35-40 a barrel and oil prices are at 31, then people get laid off, investors lose money, bond holders don’t get paid back.

....China is still wounded from Trump's trade hardball, something no other President had the gonads to do EVER.....Biden told me, "China is our friends", right?......so of course they're going to lash out, "as "our friends (COUGH)"......they made asshats of themselves on the world stage which hardly matters to Communists whose goal is STILL world dominance.....BUT..."they are our friends"....SMH.....

And the same people lecturing us on referring to it as the "China" Coronavirus or as coming from China still use the term MERS when talking about past viruses. Probably because 95% of them have no idea it stands for Middle East Respiratory Syndrome...

Shouldn't Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar be out there trying to get such a clearly anti-Muslim reference banned...or just renamed as the Israeli Respiratory Syndrome...?

..so the FIRST time in modern history that MADE IN CHINA leaves them to deny the label?.....we've swallowed their inferior junk for decades with no bawls to stand up to them until now.....about time our big pharmas come back home seeing that "our Chinese friends (Bidenism)" said that withholding pharmaceutical exports to US may be an option so we get a "HEAVY dose of coronavirus"....wouldn't the HEAVY dose leave millions of Asian-Americans also at risk?.....I feel their "concern"......

It removes liability from the schools and pits it on the individual to protect their health

All these leagues/schools say it is about stopping the spread of Corona virus, but really it was just to make sure they don't get sued.

Amazing that people don’t realize these moves were made in the name of liability, not actual safety. As soon as one individual gets Coronavirus at one of these places, it’s “ somebody else’s fault”.

From an email I received, the author of the content is from Stanford Hospital Board.  A few interesting tidbits that might be useful.

CORONAVIRUS --

1. If you have a runny nose and sputum, you have a common cold
2. Coronavirus pneumonia is a dry cough with no runny nose. 3. This new virus is not heat-resistant and will be killed by a temperature of just 26/27 degrees. It hates the Sun.
4. If someone sneezes with it, it takes about 10 feet before it drops to the ground and is no longer airborne.
5. If it drops on a metal surface it will live for at least 12 hours - so if you come into contact with any metal surface - wash your hands as soon as you can with a bacterial soap.
6. On fabric it can survive for 6-12 hours. Normal laundry detergent will kill it.
7. Drinking warm water is effective for all viruses. Try not to drink liquids with ice. 8. Wash your hands frequently as the virus can only live on your hands for 5-10 minutes, but - a lot can happen during that time - you can rub your eyes, pick your nose unwittingly and so on.
9. You should also gargle as a prevention. A simple solution of salt in warm water will suffice.
10. Can't emphasis enough - drink plenty of water!

THE SYMPTOMS

1. It will first infect the throat, so you'll have a sore throat lasting 3/4 days
2. The virus then blends into a nasal fluid that enters the trachea and then the lungs, causing pneumonia. This takes about 5/6 days further. 3. With the pneumonia comes high fever and difficulty in breathing.
4. The nasal congestion is not like the normal kind. You feel like you're drowning. It's imperative you then seek immediate attention.

Serious excellent advice by Japanese doctors treating COVID-19 cases: Everyone should ensure your mouth & throat are moist, never dry. Take a few sips of water every 15 minutes at least. Why? Even if the virus gets into your mouth, drinking water or other liquids will wash them down through your throat and into the stomach. Once there, your stomach acid will kill all the virus. If you don't drink enough water more regularly, the virus can enter your windpipe and into the lungs. That's very dangerous.

The new Coronavirus may not show sign of infection for many days. How can one know if he/she is infected? By the time they have fever and/or cough and go to the hospital, the lung is usually 50% Fibrosis and it's too late (Fibrosis is not reversible). Taiwan experts provide a simple self-check that we can do every morning. Take a deep breath and hold your breath for more than 10 seconds. If you complete it successfully without coughing, without discomfort, stiffness or tightness, etc., it proves there is no Fibrosis in the lungs, basically indicates no infection. In critical times, please self-check every morning in an environment with clean air.

Trump emerges as oil's white knight after worst week since 2008

Crude prices have fallen to record lows

The battered U.S. oil market may have just received a lifeline from President Trump after crude prices posted the worst week since 2008 hugging the $31 per barrel level, down 48 percent so far this year.

Trump, as part of his national emergency declaration to combat the fallout from the coronavirus, greenlighted the Department of Energy to step into the market as a buyer.

“Based on the price of oil I have also instructed the Secretary of Energy to purchase, at a very good price, for large quantities of crude oil for storage in the U.S. Strategic Reserve, we are going to fill it right up to the top, saving the American taxpayer billions and billions of dollars and helping our oil industry,” Trump stated on Friday.

The move, according to Phil Flynn of The PRICE Futures Group, should boost oil prices from historic lows.

“This could send prices back into the $40s if the buyers are there,” said Flynn, who is also a FOX Business contributor, when reached for his reaction. “They [the U.S.] can buy oil at the lowest price in years,” he added.

The Strategic Petroleum Reserve is the world’s largest supply of emergency crude oil, as described by the DOE, and was established as a backup facility to protect the U.S. in the event of market disruptions or potential shortages.

CLAIM: There is a simple self-check that can be done every morning to see if you have the coronavirus. Take a deep breath and hold it for more than 10 seconds. If you complete it successfully without discomfort, stuffiness or tightness it proves there is no fibrosis in the lungs, basically indicating no infection.

THE FACTS: Medical experts say that the test would not provide a clear indication of whether someone has the virus. The claim, which has three parts, first says that if a coronavirus patient goes to the hospital too late their lungs will experience 50 percent fibrosis, scarring of the lungs that restricts breathing. It then suggests the 10 second breathing test, finally stating that drinking water every 15 minutes will kill the virus. Social media users have falsely attributed the claims to Japanese doctors, Taiwanese experts and Stanford University. Lisa Kim, Stanford Health Care and school of medicine spokeswoman, said in an email that the widely distributed breathing test claim did not come from Stanford University. Despite medical experts and even the World Health Organization debunking these claims, people continue to share them on and off social media. Dr. Robert Legare Atmar, an infectious disease specialist at Baylor College of Medicine, told The Associated Press that there is no clear evidence that coronavirus causes 50 percent pulmonary fibrosis. Experts also said that the 10 second test being shared online would not be a reliable way to determine whether someone has the virus. “This approach may be helpful in identifying persons with more serious lung disease,” Atmar said. "But it will not identify persons who are infected and have mild to no symptoms.” There are many things beyond coronavirus that could lead to restricted breathing, including asthma, anxiety or heart disease, said Dr. Gregory Poland, head of vaccine research at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Also, while staying hydrated by drinking water is important for overall health, it does not prevent coronavirus, according to the WHO.

I’m sure nobody believes holding breath for 10 seconds or drinking water is a test or cure.

of course the usual suspects jump on those two statements to discredit, sadly typical of them....

So buying while prices are low to improve US strategic reserves and stabilize prices is a bad thing now?

Usually people/ organizations do pretty well buying low and selling high....

Are you using a reverse strategy? Do tell...

Also, if Russia was in cahoots with Trump, why would they wait until a viral scare and an election year to dump oil in the market?

Hurting a high growth economy while it is down due to a 'Pandemic' doesn't seem like a neighborly thing to do to someone you are

supposedly backing.....

I'm loving this COVID-19/ Oil panic sell off. Moved a good chunk of IRA I failed to time properly 4 years ago from bonds to stock Friday.

Investing in a few bio labs approved by the FDA/CDC as we speak, maybe I'll add some oil futures too.

Dumping generally doesn't happen. When it does there are a few reactions based on the the actual value of what is being dumped.

When what is being dumped has no value, ignore. When what is being dumped has value, buy.

People are dumping stocks due to panic selling. Buy now. Especially energy stocks, bio-med stocks, grocery staples.

buy low sell high, it's complicated right?
