He was able to get it to the 12th row and was on the end zone white when he let it go. So he probably had about 25-30ft of extra room. In his presser at about 3:09, when the question is asked, he says, "yeah, um..." and looks off camera to his right, presumably to his Bills PR handler, then he gets this little grin before he says that the fans in the top row were yelling pretty loud and he wanted to give them a souveneir.
