Updates on Bills cuts

It shows how much stronger our team is this year on paper that we can cut McCoy. He's still a capable player who would have easily made the team if it had the same makeup as last season, even with his down year stats

If they could have traded him, I could have understood it, but obviously they couldn't.  Gore looks done to me, Singletary doesn't have the speed you'd like to see in a feature back, Yeldon is a pass catcher and Wade is raw.  And they had cap room.

Duke Williams: I hope he makes it onto the PS.  In retrospect, signing Andre Roberts was ill advised. McKenzie is a fantastic punt return man (if he holds on to the ball!) - if he is making the team, there's no need for a return specialist.

Roberts was the #1 kick returner and 1st team All Pro.  He was taking snaps with the 1’s in camp.  He’s going to PT as a WR as well.

Im very surprised that we haven’t heard about certain guys yet. Cam Phillips, David Sills, Christian Wade, Chase McLaughlin all still hanging around at least publicly. Wouldn’t be surprised if the Bills keep both Hauschka and McLaughlin. I am really curious to see if McLaughlin can punt

I'd keep McLaughlin and cut Bojo, looking to try and trade McLaughlin for a pick.  If not, release him when a punter becomes available.

Roberts actually looks pretty good at WR.

McKenzie is insurance in case Roberts goes down......

Well issue with McKenzie returning is his fumbling issues... I see him as a backup return man. But he still has a place on the team because he is a good offensive player as well.

Until Mckenzie gets better securing the football on returns I'd hold onto Roberts

I've been going back and forth with people all week, thinking he wasn't going to make it on the 53 man roster, he's too slow to play between the 20s. Put him on the PS and spend the year gaining ~25 pounds & convert him to a TE. He's got a big frame, strong hands & is a really good blocker. I think he would excel at TE once he knows the position.

Guaranteed that if he makes the PS he will be called up within first 3 weeks due to injury or performance reasons. I can’t remember a time when we haven’t had a WR injured in first 3 weeks of the season.

Yea, just not a fan of the move.

While not what he was McCoy is still the only explosive back on the roster and he still had that playmaking ability.

The offensive roster is devoid of any offensive playmakers.

I agree about Shady, but the last line is silly.

I would say at the moment the backfield is.

Brown and Foster are both very dangerous WRs.

Wow. We get picks for Teller and Bodine. McCoy? Cut!

A high $ contract will do that.  Another gem contract by Doug Whaley.  Need to front load contracts with guaranteed money and high $ at beginning of contract.  Make the back years more team friendly and increase trade potential if needed.

Personally, I’m excited about the cut of McCoy. I’m ready to see a Bills team led by homegrown drafted and developed players like Allen and Singletary.

Agree. Keeping Shady around, it just seemed like it was his “offense” . It’s now clearly Josh Allen’s as it should be.

He has a lifetime 4.9 ypc in the regular season. He's actually played better in the regular season than during pre-season. I agree that he probably would not get anything in trade, but he's been a solid #3 back when given the chance. Give him his due credit; to say he's not an NFL player is a bit unfair and hard to back up when he's played solidly when given the chance in the actual NFL.

Charlie Murphy has been solid here.  Gonna miss him.

Foster is still inconsistent. Guy wasn't even on an NFL roster for much of the year last year.

Just think the move to release Shady was a little too soon given what they currently have at the position.

Too soon?  It was two years too late.

He's too slow to play WR outside of the Redzone. He just doesn't have the speed. A switch to TE would do him good. I think he could dominate being a TE.

Well, when you're only right once every 25 years, you tend to celebrate it with a bit of chutzpah
