Let's have a way too early Win Projection

Recommended Posts

Let's predict the record... I know it is far too early, but why not nothing else happening.

3-5: Bills Away games: Titans (L), Cowboys (L), Browns (L), Steelers (W), Giants (W), Jets (L), Phins (W), Pats (L)

6-2 Bills Home games: Broncos (W), Ravens (W), Eagles (L), Bengals (W), Skins (W), Jets (W), Phins (W), Pats (L)

I have them at 9-7 with few upsets, and not doing great on the road. Makes me think this season could be something if they outperform in 1 or 2 key areas and 9 or 10 should get us in and if they beat the Pats early, well hella good times coming!!

4-4: Bills Away games: Titans (W), Cowboys (L), Browns (L), Steelers (W), Giants (W), Jets (L), Phins (W), Pats (L)

7-1 Bills Home games: Broncos (W), Ravens (W), Eagles (L), Bengals (W), Skins (W), Jets (W), Phins (W), Pats (W)

I will duck for cover after predicting 11-5

You know, as a Patriots fan, I keep up with what's going on with the other teams in the AFCE as well as the competition from other divisions (Steelers for example). I have to say that out of all the teams I keep tabs on, the Bills are BY FAR the most knowledgeable, most logical, and least delusional. There are, of course, exceptions. However, rather than encourage the frenzy of blatant nonsense, you call them out for the BS. That's refreshing...

Jets fans are by far the least knowledgeable. Not only are they clueless about the NFL, they have no idea what's going on with their own team.

I'm looking at 11 - 5

5-3: Bills Away games: Titans (W), Cowboys (L),  Browns (W/L), Steelers (W/L),  Giants (W), Jets (W), Phins (W), Pats (L).   I see the Bills either losing to Cleveland or Pittsburgh but not both.

6-2: Bills Home games: Broncos (W), Ravens (L), Eagles (L), Bengals (W), Skins (W), Jets (W), Phins (W), Pats (W)

A couple of very bold calls expecting us to win in Pittsburgh. They'll be back a top of their division next season.

My fear as well. Nonetheless, I am gunning for 10-6, and a wild card berth (with win) at worst. I don't know why, but the Pats just don't automatically straight up scare me anymore like they did even up to last year.

I don't really fear the Squeelers, honestly. Ben's a year older and lacking too many weapons.

That being said I still didn't pick the Bills to beat them.

I'll say 9-7, hoping for 10-6 or 11-5 if we get a couple breaks.

9 wins sounds like the median to me, Vegas be damned, but feels like with Allen it could break either way. If Allen is for real, then he should have much more time and more weapons to succeed, so with this defense, the ridiculous 14-2 above is not impossible. Nor is a disastrous 3-13 season if his inaccuracy is chronic and unfixable.

That Allen went 5-5 in full games with so little help makes me hopeful. That his misses were often shorter passes makes me wonder if there's a chance he could be prone to yips.

Either way, the Bills are one of the most objectively interesting teams in the league (signing six offensive linemen with significant starting experience when you have a second year potential franchise QB is kind of a baller move)

Haha, I'm sorry to be that guy. I just don't want to bake in a huge improvement from Josh Allen. I love him and certainly hope he makes the leap this season, but that's the only way I see the records that everyone else seems to be predicting right now. I may feel differently depending on how the draft works out.

Pretty much what I text my friend yesterday.

If the QB/offense implodes looking at between 4 and 6 wins

If the QB/offense really clicks early we could be looking at 10 to 12 wins

I figured I'd split the difference with 7 ?

7 wins?  pffft!

I would say 8 wins, but in a good way, and not the format of starting out 1-5 and padding the record by winning mid-and late season vs the Giants and Dolphins..... nor starting out 5-1 and setting the season on fire to finish with 1 win in the final 8 games or so.

An even-keel 8-wins that shows progress with some young players, legitimately in the playoff race for awhile maybe.... and perhaps up-end the Patriots in a meaningful game 1 time.
