Rigotz
Here's a fun one. I just looked up the stats. The Bills haven't returned a kickoff or a punt for a TD since 2013. Crossman has been Special Teams coach for all of those years. 1

Niagara Dude
As the story goes Marrone hired his good friend Crossman after he was about to fired by Detroit Lions for having one of worst special teams in the NFL. His first season here everyone called for his head as the Bills were very bad and Marrone made excuses that we did not have enough players just for special teams. How has this guy lasted this long and why did Marrone not bring him to Jacksonville? Please fired this guy already.
Beast
With the way the NFL has attempted to diminish the return game, it is much harder to look bad on ST’s. Crossman, though, has managed to do just that.

frostbitmic
When the best play for the Bills when kicking off is to kick it out of bounds, giving the other team the ball at the 40, you've got problems.
Dadonkadonk
Just getting rid of Crossman is not going to fix anything. Special teams coordinators don't mean anything. Any HS coach could do the job. It's the players. Did you see the jail break up the middle on the blocked FG? Crossman was not blocking. I could care less who is the coordinator.

Not sure why we brought this guy in as a punter, when he is worse than Schmidt and may have had trouble holding for EP and FG. He had like one punt today...and it was fair caught at the 14. Schmidt was hitting punts with no hang time that didn't give our players enough time to get down to cover them leading to big returns... As far as holding, I dont think its anything out of the ordinary other than the two getting used to each other.

Ive never seen any reason to get rid of Schmidt. Hauschmoney does well with him as a holder. I do like the guy that has an even harder name to spell though. We need guys with names that are not easily spelled and all our kicks will be good. 14 minutes ago, matter2003 said: He had like one punt today...and it was fair caught at the 14. Is it Crossman or like a lot of other things on the Bills team this year the over all lack of talent & players that can execute the plan as schemed ? https://www.buffalobills.com/team/coaches-roster/danny-crossman Sure Crossman i don't believe is a Bobby April ? but he's not terrible either maybe given a better stable of players to choose from . Just saying Bills ranked 31st entering Sunday in special-teams efficiency, per @ESPNStatsInfo. Ranks 400th out of 416 teams since ESPN started tracking stat in 2006. Another Danny Crossman-coached unit, the 2013 Bills, ranks 409th. stat my buddy just texted me. I left it in another thread but I feel like you may need to see this in here as well. This isnt crossmans first atrocious unit.

Nihilarian
After only 4 wins I'm starting to think this entire regime needs to go... billsfan89
Special teams has been below average all season, the spectacular play of Haush has kind of made things seem better than they are too. If the Bills had a mid-level or worse kicker they would be among the worst special teams units in the league. If the Bills want to make a big leap next year they have to address special teams in a big way, you have the kicker which is the hardest component to get so grabbing a new coach, new punter, and sprinkling in a couple of versatile specialists is fairly easy to in terms of resources. I'm not conflating the two in my statement, and I don't think the current state of the line is all a result of Castillo. Clearly it's devoid of depth and certainly consistent talent. That being said, I don't think Castillo would maximize an OL should we even have the personnel to begin with, and if nothing else would detract from any OL we do end up building. The issue is both with our current personnel and the coach responsible for their development and performance for separate and mutual reasons. I would have liked to have seen Castillo dropped the day after he was hired if I'm being honest - there isn't much to say his issues from his time in both Philly and Baltimore have gotten better. Especially considering his track record at run game coordinator, the position he was hired for along with OL coach, and how our current run game has fared. Our blocking technique is horrifically inconsistent, and worse yet, blocking schemes are inconsistent with the play call itself. It's speculative correlation, but I wonder how much of Miller's regression is on Castillo - while I believe it's all within Miller's control, I do wonder what affect Castillo has had on him. Again, for more reasons than just Castillo, but wouldn't you like to give your players the best chances to succeed, and employ equally skilled coaches to assist? Also, I've been close to losing it each time I see another flopped cut block, just stop. Edited December 11, 2018 by ctk232

Hardly. And it's the same situation on ST coverages,if anybody has noticed,it's a different group of ten nearly every week because of the "minor" roster tweaks. For example...Foster got smoked on Sunday as a right gunner because Holmes got a pink slip.Rice was owned as well...he couldn't shed a block from me...and I'm old.
