I was at the game yesterday and I saw Zay Jones get Benjamin lined up correctly more than a couple of times.

It's true, as sad as it sounds...Zay probably is our number 1.

were any of those illegal formation penalties a result of Benjamin not lining up properly?

I know Dawkins got called for one but I assumed that was because one of the WRs or TEs uncovered him and he ended up being an extra receiver as the refs saw it.

No. Dawkins was one and Croom was the other I believe

He was actually open multiple times yesterday on outs, a couple of slants, and at least one post I saw. He is getting better whether people want to admit it or not. Our #1? Probably. Still nothing more than a 3 or a 4 anywhere else. I see him developing into a Robert Woods type of player if he keeps progressing.

yes but is that penalty actually on Dawkins in terms of he lined up incorrectly or on someone else because they put him in a formation illegally-I guess I am not articulating my Q very well..I had to listen to the game on radio as we never get the game up here in the woods of Maine so I don't get a visual of what is going on.

I wasn’t watching closely enough either, sorry

Agree. But, still encouraged that he’s actually making progress.

Yes, definitely encouraged by his progress out there. He's also not dropping the ball at the clip he did last year either. He can definitely end up being a solid #2 guy for us at the least if he keeps this up. He's getting open.

DiMarco was definitely called for one as well, though I think it was because of the way someone else was lined up in that case.

You’re right I think it was dimarco and Dawkins. Croom had a penalty but it might have been something else.

Croom and Thomas look so bad out there and Clay looks like he is just going through the motions. Zay Jones should be the only person to survive the WR/TE purge of 2019.

I think Clay has played alright this year all things considered, though I agree he will likely be gone next year. Zay will definitely survive the purge and maybe Croom too. I think he has done pretty well when given opportunities.

Clay looked ok early on yesterday. He’s probably the most reliable pass catcher right now. Allen looks for him a lot.

Benjamin's 27 and still doesn't know where to line up. He's never going to learn

Did you listen to his interview?  The guy can’t speak very well

I am feeling very good about Zay Jones.  What happened last year was completely mental IMO, he started dropping balls and then he let it get to his head and never broke out of it.  I never bought all of the bust talk last year and I think he is growing into the solid #2 WR he will become.

I still think he will turn out very good for us

It’s both great that Zay has improved so much and is reliable, and terrible that he is our best receiver right now.

Yeah Sammy on his 5th year option would look so much Better than Banjamin and his 5th year option.

But McD didnt like Sammy’s attitude. I guess refusing to run routes pre game is the type of attitude he likes

Someone earlier said Zay could turn into a Robert Woods type.  I think that would be a success for a 2nd Round Pick, and wholeheartedly agree he can get to that level.   Pretty sure we would all take a Robert Woods that actually wants to be in Buffalo.

I remember seeing Zay with some nice blocks in the run game, which was something I always liked about Woods. Reliable route runner that contributes well in the run game - I'll take that any day.
