NewEraBills
I don't really consider Jones a bust. He was a 2nd round pick that really improved his draft stock from the Sr Bowl. Now had he been taken in round 1 in the top 15 yep, he'd be the biggest bust since Maybin. But since he was a 2nd rounder, Maybe still holds the crown by a longshot in my book. Is he playing below his draft selection? Sure. I'm not for sure what the issues are though. Is he not open until the defense is playing prevent? GG
In fairness, he seemed to play better when Allen started looking at him more in 4Q. I'd be interested to know if he caught the tight sideline pass where the refs wrongly called a sack.
FistingBot
WR is tough to evaluate given productivity depends on targets... and of course targets depend on play design and does the guy get open or not... since we can't really see the route on TV, I have no idea is Zay gets open. But, he has only been targeted 17 times this season. That's really low. And, obviously our QBs have both had accuracy issues. It'd be far easier to judge Zay if we had a decent offensive coordinator (I'm not a Daboll fan) and a solid NFL QB. Until that happens I'm going with "need more data" on Zay. Success
He was actually pretty wide open on the first half INT. If Allen could have set his feet that’s a likely TD.

Somehow these guys weren’t good enough to be on this Bills squad. All part of the process though...

Charlottebillsfan2
He is on pace for 576 yards 40 receptions (I actually think he ends up closer to 750 yards, he should continue to develop with Allen). Last season he had 316 yards. So that tells me that he is getting better. I'm not sure if I would cast him off as the biggest bust in memory just yet. C.Biscuit97
It’s so hard with wrs because it’s such a dependent position. He “might” be a better player on another team. But it seems like a very average talent. This regime is absolutely clueless on evaluating wrs. Jordan Matthews, Coleman, Jones, Benjamin, etc. and the far we traded up for Jones because we had his college coach instead of tdtayinf put and taking JuJu (who I wanted) is such a terrible move. Ugh!
Matt_In_NH
OP may be right but the reality is every team has second round busts. Last years draft was not bad....Tre White and Dawkins were good picks...White was a home run if you forget they traded back instead of taking Mahomes. Milano looks good for a fifth rounder Allen and Edmunds this year.....still too early to tell. Edited October 2, 2018 by mattynh

Honestly, I hate that. Unless you have guys who can do it all, they are never going to win their match up. So to me design an offense that springs people open. If the offense is designed for each guy to win their match up, well that's why we are seeing what we see. Nobody on this team is going to "win" their matchup.
