Bad Things Man
This if from back in Preseason but found interesting to re-read: http://www.newyorkupstate.com/buffalo-bills/index.ssf/2017/08/what_jon_gruden_had_to_say_about_buffalo_bills_qb_nathan_peterman.html The last paragraph pretty much sums it up, not saying this is Peterman, but positive it's not TT: "I think it's pretty easy to see the teams that sustain winning, they have one," Gruden said. "They have a guy that can make the throws. The guy that can dominate at the line of scrimmage. The guy who doesn't waste plays. These guys are coaches on the field. They have football aptitude. They have the great arm quickness, they have arm strength. They just have a way of making the other players better. They make the defense better because the defense they fight harder knowing if we just get this guy the ball back, we have a chance. The offensive line plays better because they don't want this man hit. The meetings are better, the practices are better, life is better when you have a blue chipper playing quarterback in the NFL. You even have a chance to sell some luxury boxes and jerseys too. Man I'm envious of some of these guys that have been able to coach a quarterback like (Ben) Roethlisberger for that many years or Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees. That's an envious position for those guys."

Jauronimo
Gruden has been very outspoken about Peterman. Here's another such article from the Boston Globe. http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/patriots/the_blitz/2016/12/jon_gruden_tom_brady_is_the_best_quarterback_i_think_thats_ever Quote "the best quarterback, I think, that's ever played." He doesn't exactly mention Peterman by name but I think we can definitely rule out the possibility that he means Tyrod. You do the math. BuffaloBill
Gruden compares him to Andy Dalton.... not exactly the guy I would chase after if I wanted a QB to build a team around. Too many around here are hoping for lightening in a bottle and while Peterman might be, it’s highly unlikely.

You do the math. He does say that Brady is the best QB that's ever played which does rule out TT being better, and also, since at the time he hadn't played yet, must mean that Peterman is better then Brady, or why else would you say the best to have played? Nihilarian
I get a kick out of Gruden. Every QB he attempts to develop he throws this gigantic playbook at them and expects them to learn it all. So that at some point during a game he can call some obscure play that the rest of the team says wth is this? He overloads his QB's with a bunch of useless plays that the team will never utilize. On another note, some 2018 FA QB's, Kirk Cousins, Drew Brees, Sam Bradford.

I think it is the skill set that Gruden is talking about, not what happens when you pressure Dalton and he's having a bad day.

C.Biscuit97
AS others have said, Gruden loves everyone. It’s why I think he will be a head coach again. He is afraid to burn any bridges. and with all this love, why did Peterman fall to the 5th round with how desperate the nfl is for qbs? I can’t shake the Trent feel to him, which would be a good 5th pick as a backup qb.

Alphadawg7
Gruden love affairs include Tebow and Manziel. While I rather enjoy Gruden as a commentator, I have yet to meet a QB he didn't love. So I take his love affair with any QB with about as much seriousness as someone on this board. He's paid to talk about QB's and they won't go on his show if he doesn't do a warm and fuzzy piece on them, no agent would ever under any circumstance allow them to go on his show if there was the potential of hurting their draft stock. They are lobbed softball puff pieces. Regarding Manziel, he was having a melt down when he was getting passed up too. Wouldn't shut up about it. Much like Kiper when Jimmy Clausen (and tons of other failed QB's he loves) was falling.
