Bills' Roster Cuts to the 53 Man Limit

That is the closest comparison in recent Bills' history with a regime having carte blanche from ownership.

Donahoe was a talent collector of the highest magnitude though.

He cleaned house but then immediately started filling the bowl with his own turds.

Either way.......the total tear downs of Greggo and Jauron were unnecessary.

As I have pointed out numerous times......all the consistent winners of recent times rose from mediocrity and almost all made use of the previous regimes recently drafted young talent.

None of them had Ralph for an owner, with his guys still running the team after he left. A truly unique and most heinous situation.

Yeah Allen looked bad.

I know he's got poor talent around him but the decision making is an issue.

Throwing a ball 20 feet out of bounds 50 yards downfield when you have a guy open underneath?

Yep. Decision making and accuracy both were off even when you cut him some slack for the bad drops by his supporting cast. Edited by GunnerBill

Ralph or the Pegula's, you mean.

Frying pan to fire in terms of ability to field a winner.........granted, Ralph only had 1 team.......but it took Ralph a couple decades to finish DFL as often as the Pegula's have.

Our best hope are the Pegula kids.

I owe Gunner and Bado and apology, these guys are just another group of clowns over at OBD. A different kind of clown but the results won't change much. Know it all clowns.

Can't wait to see Vlad get pancaked over and over again

We. Have. Not. Played. One. Game. Yet.

Waiting and seeing is better than dismissing them months into their tenure.

Maybe. But it's a message board. Its reason for existence is for spewing opinions. It's like the idea of "Innocent before proven guilty." Everyone believes that should be the case. But only in courts. You can and do make and say opinions on whether people are innocent or guilty before a verdict if you are not part of the court process. Especially on a platform like a message board. Edited by Kelly the Dog

I'm confused over what we were wrong about.

I cried a little about the cut. Really like the kid.

I'm really happy he cleared and signed up on the PS.

Not sure what to apologize for.

Wasnt he the one with a fast track to canton, going to dominate the next superbowl, and get a hige payday from the Patriots???

Yup. And 95% of the others sucked. It should be illeagual to say Tom Brady was a sixth round draft choice.

It's actually higher than 95% I think. I need to run the numbers again. Basically though people use 1 guy out of 20 to try to prove their point. It's really a dumb strategy. If you are trying to hang your hat on "1 out of 20 times you'll be right" that's just not smart. Play the percentages.

Right. Brady is the outlier. He was drafted by a team that had a veteran QB as well. You can see that team taking a flyer in the 6th on a QB. The Bills aren't in the position to bank on that guy. They will have to address the position sooner, it all about playing the odds.

This time of year I picture a lot of posters with empty retirement accounts, the way people fall in love with lottery tickets around here

Hopefully more if these guys start looking the part and not just Falk. Otherwise the chances of the Bills landing the guy are next to nil.

Baker Mayfield and Mason Rudolph looked the part of 1st round qb's this weekend. I will go on record as saying at least one of them won't be. Over-reacting to the first game of the college season is the same as over-reacting to these pre-season cuts. Let's see what the on-field/final product is before judgement.

WTF is Vlad still doing on this team?

If our bread and butter is the run game why are we releasing JWill? Shady hasnt had 300 attempts since 2014. Mike G is gone and now JWill is gone. Banyard and his 23 rushing attempts in 4 nfl seasons is going to split the load with shady? Ridiculous. Laughable. But Vlad is still around. That giant, steaming bag of dog excriment is safe. Kill me now.

Why do so many posters take time out of their day to tell us how they've quit on this team? Obviously you haven't because you think about them so much that you feel obligated to write down your thoughts about them incessantly. Just give it up. So many more naysayers in here since BBMB shut down and there were sufficient numbers previously. Such a bunch of downers that just love to create a reactionary culture on here. You all suck!

I'm curious how McDermott and staff will get the new guys up to speed in 7 days.

The same way every other coach in the league does. It's not as though they picked up 3 starters who will be forced into action immediately. They, as a whole, are depth, and most likely will find themselves on the inactive list for the first week or two. Where the intrigue will lie is in the new wr, Clay, who may well be on the field against the Jets for a number of snaps due to the sheer lack of an alternative.

What a ridiculously crazy ending. Rosen threw for 292 yards in the 4th quarter! He had some luck, but he also made all the plays he had to near the end.

Unreal. There was a heavy dose of luck, but the guy can play. Sometimes to be good you have to be lucky and vice versa Edited by MiltonWaddams

These. Ducasse stays, potential star and Shadys only replacement get cut, stupid move.

Haha. I can't quit on this team. I can think we will be bad this year (and I do think that) but I can't quit on them. Too many hours of my week are dedicated to them even in the dog days of the off-season. I will cheer them on every snap all season long and hope that they prove my pessimism for the year wrong. There is too much real serious stuff that takes up time in my life to allow my sports teams being bad to actually depress me. The hours in the day that I dedicate to following the Bills whether it is on here, watching games, watching press conferences or listening to Schopp and Bulldog while I do the dinner dishes in an evening.... that is the fun bit of life. Yes I want them to win and yes I will criticise them when they make decisions that seem to me to be wrong ones but they make my life more enjoyable win or lose. That is what sports should be guys.... they should be the fun part. Work, family, finances....... that is all the hard stuff (well with my family it is at least haha :))

I also don't understand why colt anderson is on this roster. Dude has done nothing but be injured. Don't tell me it's because he's a great st player either, we already have like 9 st specialists

Oh, so we can't say he is on the team because of what he does best?

Sounds reasonable

I feel like they have dedicated a LOT of their 53 spots to special teamers.

Brandon Tate

Taiwan Jones

Kaelin Clay

Deon Lacey

Colt Anderson

(plus the 3 specialists obviously)

That is EIGHT of the 53 spots given over to people who are primarily here for their special teams capability. And that is without including the likes of Mike Tolbert, Andre Holmes and Tanner Vallejo who are dual purpose line of scrimmage / ST options.

In a vacuum I'm fine with that approach - I've said here repeatedly that Teams are low-hanging fruit that can win you an extra 2-3 games every year. If they weren't needlessly expelling young talented players, this team might actually have a shot...

I think beane/mad have gone way too far favoring versatility/st. At the end of the day you need skill at skill positions
