But down to Oliver Settle Joseph and Practice squad guys till Jones is back has to be looked as an option? Likely teams will contact him and determine if he is a match and when he clears waives will offer to sign him at a lower contract. If somebody claims him off waivers, they pay the remainder of his current salary. Teams will have to claim him in 24 hours regardless is they are playing a game on Saturday or not. If you claim him, you pay him would seem to be the rule. Having him waived when they did, seems to give Joseph the best chance to make it through to free agency. At least that's how I see it. They've tanked the season without admitting to the same. They're playing for draft picks.
