Bermuda Triangle
The number of (1) easy, stress-free completions and (2) receivers running open downfield, is alarming, to say the least. I've never been a big fan of Frazier's style of defense, but even his staunchest defenders have to admit that the defense has played poorly of late. Will Frazier be able to right the ship before next weekend?
Dr.Sack
I prefer shutting down the run, and hitting QBs. Yes you give up bigger plays, but you don’t give up time consuming drives and the QB takes hits as you send more than they can block. Make sure the QB hits the turf on every pass. The hits add up and the big plays given up don’t tax your defense. 4

John from Riverside
Today it was unacceptable But I don’t know if that’s a lack of talent so much as it is just the team being mentally spent this week I said it earlier, it looked to me like they came out, super hyped, and then leveled off and went flat Mac Jones is not as good as he looked today
Bruffalo
The lack of pressure that we used to be getting with Miller is starting to expose our beat up secondary. Since we play primarily zone, getting consistent pressure is really important to throw the timing of the QB off. As decent as Rousseau has been, the other side is just filled with JAGs now. 3 2 9

It's not just Bills lots of team's following this type of defense.

Bferra13
It ain't getting the job done. Too late now though most likely. Cinci was about to carve us up too so maybe it's better that game got cancelled. This team has some warts. Chaos
There is not much evidence any 2022 NFL defense consistenly shuts down the top offenses. Against the Chiefs, the Bills will have to win the track meet.
Sestak4ever
The secondary needs constant pressure from the d line. It appears we get that with Rousseau but nothing from the opposite end. We miss Von Miller for sure. Need someone to step up, whether it's Epenesa, Basham, etc. A strong push from the tackles would help also. We are getting some but not consistently.

LABILLBACKER
I hate Fraziers zone. Always have, always will. It only works if you get pressure on the qb, which we didn't today. Our front 4 especially the DT's were bad today. Blitzing lately has been ineffective. And if we can't generate pressure on the upcoming qbs, our DB's will suffer. Von was the missing piece to raise everyone else's game. Now McD & Frazier will be called upon to stop Tua, Burrow or Mahomes. 1 1

Sometimes break down vs the speed but most int trying to throw the middle. Might give up run plays but fish give up for no reason. Bill's have been following that game plan. Best way to defeat the dolphins.

947
Multiple receivers are wide open on every play, and our DBs are almost always behind in coverage, it's like we're playing a perpetual prevent defense. It's becoming a rarity when a pass falls incomplete. On the play Elam allowed the TD to Parker, he was up in tight coverage, then let him run by untouched. I know our CBs usually play off WRs, but why are we ever playing tight, if we aren't going to bump WRs? The long catch Jamar Chase had on Tre was the same thing. This season, we've made turds like Mac Jones, Mike White, Zach Wilson, Kenny Pickett, & Jacoby Brissett look like All Pro QBs. Doc Brown
I'm the least confident in this defense since McDermott's been here. Losing Miller really hurts. Last year we at least had Hughes and Addison who were better when it came to purely rushing the passer. Hyde is out. His backup (Hamlin) is out. Poyer is playing like a warrior but he's fighting nagging injuries. White isn't the same since the ACL tear. Jackson and Elam are below average corners right now. The interior D-line needs to step it up or Allen is going to have to win in shootouts. 1

Big Blitz
In defense of the pass rush, I’m going to argue that oline we saw today was one of the 3 best we’ve seen all year. Did Andrews play against us the first game? And they were playing for Slater, who I think is retiring. The Dolphins oline with Armstead is decent. Without him it’s below average. The Bengals lost Kappa today - meaning the right side of their oline is out. As has been the case with this D for years, good olines are our kryptonite. I don’t think we’ll see one as good as today’s in the playoffs. The Chiefs is the best - but they aren’t beating the Chargers.
