It’s almost always used incorrectly. What the Bills endured since leaving all our mouths agape with Allen’s endzone Pick to end our chance at victory last Sunday, qualifies as unique. ‘Snowmagedon2’ struck WNY, dumping 7’ of the white stuff on New Era field and the Orchard Park area. Too much, too fast, too late in the week to clear safe passageway for a game today. Even practice was forced into offsite zoom meetings. So it’s off to Detroit again to play a Home game against a Conference rival. Yes, been there, done that. What’s unique is the Bills are occupying the Visitors sideline and locker rooms by choice, because we’ll return there in 3 days to play ‘at’ the Lions on Thanksgiving. So opting for the visiting team accommodations is wise as it attempts to give familiarity to unfamiliar circumstances. Allens’ pick did so much damage to the teams’ League positioning, it can’t be understated. PPeterson’s 2nd endzone interception dumped the Bills from Division AND Conference top spot to THIRD in our Division and the Sixth seed! Yes, our unicorn has been careless at times in the past, but never more impactful than this error. Suddenly, this upcoming 6 game stretch becomes our season, with 4 games against our Division and we’re already 0-2 here. It may be ‘pre-Black Friday’ on the calendar, buts its MUST WIN time for the Bills, if our lofty hopes for this season can be realized. We did lose three in a row in 2017 but made the post season. I'm not sure if 10-7 is going to cut it this year; 9-8 almost certainly isn't. The way the AFC is split between good and bad teams, it is possible an 11-6 team misses the playoffs. 10-7 almost certainly misses in the AFC. The Bills have four divisional games remaining: 2 against the patriots who we rarely sweep, 2 against teams who already beat us this season. All of these teams are hungry and in the playoff hunt. Going two and two out of these four is the most likely scenario. This means we can't lose any of our other four games. Our other four games are against the Browns, Lions, Bears and Bengals. Browns are a terrible matchup for the Bills. The Bengals are defending AFC champions who are dangerous on any given Sunday. A loss tomorrow to the Browns will be devastating. As they say D-Day was a must win, this is just a football game. But if the Bills lose today, the path to a championship becomes very narrow. To say they didn't put 4 solid quarters together all season is a lie, they won a close game against Ravens and KC which needed 4 good quarters to win. Working the graveyard shift, I’m staying home today vs my typical routine when the games aren’t televised in my area. I guess that we just have a different level of expectation for this team then. I honestly believe that they should have challenged the ‘07 Pats for largest point differential in a season. I felt like +315 was realistic. My expectation was something like 15-2 with an average margins of victory of 3 scores a game. The Bills are clearly one of the best teams in football. Coming into this year I believed that that had a chance to be one of the great teams ever. They aren’t that at this point. The level of satisfaction, to this point, depends on your expectations.
