We met at a black tie event and I was apparently looking him over. He noticed, looked back and said, “boxers”. . Classic! Boxers to the rescue. Figster
Back in the late 60's living in upstate New York ( West Valley ) My older brother and I would have contest sometimes to see who gets to keep our tv antenna on the roof turned in the right direction to pick up Bills games. In stormy weather the wind would turn the antenna enough to lose reception. Our contests were always filled with dares for the loser to make it more interesting and or painful. Once when our parents weren't home one of the dares was going outside in a snow storm wearing just our underwear with one lap around the house after turning the antenna. My brother got mad and locked me outside because the game wasn't coming in good. He figured it was my fault and I wasn't getting back in until the picture cleared. I ended up going to our neighbors up the street in just my underwear. We both got into allot of trouble.

Gene Frenkle
I've been a season ticket holder since 2001. Think about that timing for a minute. I rarely miss a home game. During one particularly humiliating drought-era comeback arse-beating by Brady and friends, I had had enough. I was pretty drunk, which as many of you know was kinda like all we had back then. There were the usual obnoxious chowderhead invaders making life miserable for us at home. I'm not sure if there exists a more fairweather intolerable fan in all of sports. There was the familiar "snatching of defeat from the jaws of victory" scenario playing out, as it had many times before. There were mitigating circumstances, that's all I'm saying. I "walked" up the stadium steps to take a leak and get away from the trauma for just a minute. I was angry. I hated Tom Brady's face. I was seeing red. Drunk, younger and even more foolish, I decided to take my frustration out on one of those red topped stadium trash cans and...lost. After my mightiest punch, I felt the wetness of my own stupidity streaming down my fingertips as I struggled to figure out what happened. There was no pain, only the realization that I had ***** up and would now pay for it. Fortunately, I was easily spotted by stadium personnel and ushered to Ralph's ER, complete with a very attractive doc who actually stitched me up and bandaged my now unusable dominant hand. I think she either liked me or felt sorry for me (probably the latter), but she sat there and watched the rest of the this most discouraging loss with me, listened to my "clever" lamentations about our Bills and made me feel better, if only for the better part of the fourth quarter. I regret nothing, except perhaps for the lack of courage to ask that pretty stadium doc for her number. This is now one of my top five stadium memories, which is a little bit sad and a little bit beautiful, imo. Either way, Go Bills! 1

Figster
We have a Cowboy fan that frequents our forum that definitely deserves honorable mention for her dedication to the Buffalo Bills. She's been to many Bills games. Met and got pictures/autographs with many Bills players. Even offered to help my niece and her hubby anyway she could at the Houston playoff game the season before last. Her dedication to the Bills probably out does many of us. She's got me beat. BearNorth
Original Bills Fan, in 1963, told my mom all I wanted for Christmas was Bills playoff tickets, ($6 each). Got them, game was in the Rockpile. Our seats were in the bleachers, created by pushing the snow down with a garbage can. Bills lost that day, but next two years were epic.

Draconator
The most memorable for me was I was at an Oakland A's game while the draft was going on. All the Raiders fans (we were in Oakland) were saying, Raiders are going to draft McGahee. When the Bills took him, I cheered loudly. Then I had to watch my back because my life was in danger lol. bobobonators
My dad wasnt a football fan. I grew up near NYC. Since my fandom wasnt inherited, I had my pick of teams to root for. I couldve chosen to root for the Giants - a winning franchise. Heck I couldve rooted the Cowgirls, since there were plenty of those fans around even in NY. Instead I chose to root for the blue-collar city and the underachieving franchise instead. Almost 40yrs of misery. Ive never wavered, and id pick them again every single time. hondo in seattle
January 1991 found me in the middle of the Arabian Desert. We had no television reception where I was at. Even if we did, we had no tv sets. We had army FM radios but these were only good for talking with each other. A very few guys had short-wave radios but they found very little to listen to on them. Mostly stuff from Baghdad Betty telling us that our wives and girlfriends had already moved on and that giant moving sand dunes would bury us in our sleep, forgotten and alone. Well, even though I wasn't assigned a HUMVEE, I had one (long story). So in the weeks prior to the Super Bowl, as I went around my duties visiting other units, I asked everyone I came across if they had a radio that actually received anything American. Nothing Nada. Zip. Zilch. For the first time ever, the Bills were going to Super Bowl and I had no way to watch the game, no one way to listen. One of my own soldiers had a shortwave radio. It was my best hope. The day of the Super Bowl, I spent hours manipulating the nobs and antennae, trying to pick up something - to no avail. Frustrated, I sacked out in my sleeping bag (often called a "fartsack" by soldiers) on my cot. Later a soldier on "radio watch" woke me up and said, "Sir. Wake up! Wake up! The Bills just won the Super Bowl!" "What? Are you sure?" As a snake-bitten Bills fan, the news was very welcome but hard to believe. "Yeah. I'm sure." And then after a pause. "Well, I don't know. For just a minute or so I picked up the BBC World Service. The static was pretty bad. But I think they said the Bills won on a last second field goal." He wasn't a Bills fan but knew how maniacal and devoted I was. I spent the next few hours, while the rest of our cavalry troop slept, frantically playing with the dial of the shortwave radio searching, hoping and waiting for confirmation. I'm still waiting. boco357
I was in Tokyo in 2005 and woke up from my hotel room at like 3am or so to attempt to watch end of Bills @ Dolphins game. You couldn't get on phone then and my hotel's business center wasn't open. Went to another hotel and paid to use internet to not even watch but track the ending and they lost on last second Rosenfels to Chambers TD. At least I can remember easily the time period I went Japan now from that game , ha. Edited March 28, 2021 by boco357

She looked at me and said something like, “Why are we Bills fans again?” She got through it, she’s a big fan. She couldn’t even eat the day of the AFC Championship Game. A huge shout out to all the parents that helped their kids become bills fans. That takes A LOT of dedication!
