Steelers signing Dwayne Haskins

The real question is not on the Steelers side of this equation, but rather does Haskins have the work ethic and drive to make himself a better choice than an aging Big Ben...

Or the intelligence.  Or the talent.

Haskins is a young, ***** version of Big Ben, character and all

I’d like to flash a caution light here. Yes, Haskins has shown selfishness and poor judgement. Big Ben sexually assaulted a young lady. The two are not comparable. I’m not a fan of Haskins. However, to my knowledge, he has done nothing to deserve this comparison.

Sexual assault is a predatory act of violence. Please do not compare a juvenile party to sexual assault. Are you honestly implying you can’t see the stark difference?

Were you at said party?  Do you know what happened?  Are you honestly saying you know him THAT well?  You are saying you know what happened?  That was far from a juvenile party......if thats your version of a juvenile party I wanna party with you......just saying.

Agree 110% what Rapelisberger did is a HORRIBLE act and he shouldn't even be playing football right now and the comparison is weak but Haskins character mold is weak also.....again - WAY more than a juvenile party.......I wanna go to a 5+ stripper after party.....sign me up

No, I’m not nearly that exciting. I saw and read nothing to indicate sexual assault or rape at that party. There is just a Grand Canyon of difference between the two.

I hope for the best for young QBs.  The best-looking options often start out with bad teams and sometimes they never overcome being on a bad team.  Sam Darnold, Haskins, Josh Rosen are just a few.  Their careers are over before they get started.  The lucky ones get to a team that supports them.

Haskins seems like a total jerk but Big en was no saint either when he was young.  Maybe they'll bond, and Ben can mentor his replacement.  But Ben is on a very steep slope downward.  He was terrible this past year.  There will be clamoring for a QB switch next year if Ben continues to struggle.

This is a good time to remind TSW that while Josh Allen was going thru rookie growing pains in 2018....... @YoloinOhio  was lamenting how sorry the Bills situation was having Josh Allen instead of the much better prospect,  Dwayne Haskins.

I've been dead wrong about Bills players often simply because I'm a homer, so I get it. 😄

Steelers need to kick the tires, but there's little hope for Haskins. He seems like a spoiled brat.

Darnold is several orders of magnitude better from day 1 than Haskins has ever been.

With Haskins, there's nothing to reclaim.  He's another OSU flash in the pan that turned into an NFL dud.  He's not even a suitable backup QB.  Plus he's a next level moron.

Thanks, I see people comparing Haskins to a young Big Ben. Ben played at Miami of Ohio, and was noticed for his gifted QB talent. Haskins has a lot of average abilities, but benefited from the spotlight of OSU.

Circle of Life. The last 20 years was the Colts (Manning and Luck), Patriots (Brady, and Steelers (Roethlisberger) and now they all look like they are about to be in a rough situation for the next 5 years unless they find a QB (Colts on the best position and ironically won the least amount of SBs in that era)

Haskins will never be any good.  He would need a 180 degree turnaround from his present lack of effort, discipline, and inability to learn a playbook.  Not likely to happen even under the “great” Tomlin.

Haskins will never be anything more than fringe starter. I doubt he would work hard enough to be a backup...those are usually the dudes who know everything and study all the details so they can point out what the starters missed.

Haskins could be a good fit anywhere, if he was driven to work hard at his craft. He's the Bizarro Josh Allen!!

Haskins arm is nothing like Josh's.

Bizarro means opposite. And I was talking about the difference in their work ethic.

Haskins was drafted in 2019.  I'll need to see evidence of this.
