He sits on the sidelines and cries w a towel over his head after a loss. I don't want a B word like that leading my team. When you are 4-12 everyone is replaceable. *sigh* if you think wins and losses are individual stats then carry on I guess. Aaron Donald was crying yesterday after losing. Is Donald a “b-word” as well?

My understanding was that they specifically said he'd have an opinon/role and then they cut him out. If so, that's understandable frustration. Also, lets not forget that it's possible to have Desaun Watson and still suck (clearly) so teams that can offer a kings ransom for him have to be one of two things: Rebuilding with a ton of extra draft capital (Jets, Jags, Phins) or ready to compete now needing a QB. How many teams can afford to lose 6 or more premier picks over the next 3 years and be okay, even with a good QB? That's why the 49ers make the most sense to me. They have a roster that would instantly compete for the SB with Watson dropped in there.
RichRiderBills
The Texans have really screwed this up. How hard is it just to sit down with your quarterback and pick his brain about who he would like as a coach / GM and maybe discuss some candidates. How hard is it to have the guy in the room when you do an interview? I just don't get it ! I'm old school too....and I know these NFL execs don't want to give players the power that they have in the NBA... but really it's so easy to respectfully involve someone, espcially if , as reported, they promised him some involvement. Texans are a joke....feel sorry for their fans. Edited January 17, 2021 by RichRiderBills

I dunno, we're in the AFC Championship with a young QB, Pittsburgh is going to be a mess of a team while they attempt to replace Ben and while Aaron is certainly playing at a high level, has he ever spoken about how long he's going to play? I think if JJ really wants to compete for a Super Bowl for the next 5 years, we're one of the teams that's set up to do it.

Buddo
Ownership is the biggest problem here. McNair is letting too many people do jobs they aren't qualified for. Starting with BOB as GM, then moving on to this Easterby character, whose qualifications for being employed as an NFL anything, appear to amount to leading prayers around the Patriots facility. You also don't tell the most important piece of the team you are going to involve him before making decisions, and then go ahead and make those decisions regardless - even if it's your right. Heck, if McNair had told Watson he was getting no say in this from the get go, he might be pissed, but he might also be prepared to wait and see how things panned out.

They will destroy their remaining ability to attract quality free agents and coaches. The locker room will be poisoned. I’m telling you it will lead to McNair having to sell. You simply cannot do it. Sure you can! The tire fire that's the Jets seems to be dying down. Better send a couple of pumpers back to the firehouse so they can respond when Houston erupts in flames. 😁

Rochesterian Bills Fan
I know James Harden just forced his way out of Houston but the labor market in the NBA is very different to the NFL. Watson just signed a fat extension, if I am Houston I don't consider trading a proven franchise QB, at least not yet. I would have him play next season at least.
