Congratulations to the Buffalo Bills who are now in the top 10 in both offense and defense as they climbed from 17 to 10 in D (345.7 yards per game) and #4 in offense (392.5 ypg).

Bills have also faced 7 out of the top 15 defenses in the League.  8 if you consider two games against the Pats.

Wow!

With the start that our defense had, that’s very impressive that they were able to get back into the top 10.

We’re hitting on all cylinders right now

I don't think he has the arm to get it to receivers anymore. Like at all.

In his hay day Newton could unload a deep pass, most of what he did was extend plays with his legs and throw deep, and he could certainly run the ball.

I don't see that ability any more; not only that, but successful QB's in today's game have to be able to make quick decisions and deliver the ball all over the field to counter the different defensive looks they will get. I don't think he ever had to develop his game to that level as he had so much success with his raw physical tools - it shows (now that the physical tools are on the decline).

Not sure, but I think Allen wandered around after the game looking for Newton for that traditional QB handshake stuff and I don't think either Newton or Stidham showed up....just all around poor losers in Baston.

Either way Allen just seemed to shrug it off and celebrated with his teammates.

That was a game Bill would have gone for 50.  I dont know how I feel about sitting Allen and Diggs.  Part of me wants retribution.  Having Bill just stand there with Matt Barkley looking better than both his Qbs is poetic justice in its own right.

To be fair to Newton his career is essentially ending. Stidham well it's not really going to start.

I guess. You can go out as a player classy or like a pouting B word

To each their own... I guess it beats having a guy retire in the middle of a game right?

JK to JA, baby!

Apparently, your first name has to start with the letter "J" to be a first-tier QB in Buffalo:

Jack, Joe, Jim, Josh

Second place goes to the letter "D"

Daryle, Doug, Drew

Honorable mention to the letter "R"

Ryan

Josh was looking for a NE QB after the game but it turns out they don't have one

Not exactly trolling Fin fan sites, but some of their comments over the game were just priceless...

I mean it has to be infuriating to think your finally climbing out of the dog house after the big mean Pats QB is gone just to see you came in second picking the next AFC East QB.

Not to make excuses for Davis but.........

I felt like retiring as fan that day....it was 95 degrees in the stands and about 20 degrees hotter on the field with no breeze.

It was hot like Hell in that stadium

You could clearly see he was struggling to run after his surgery to have his groin muscle reattatched.

Yeah if you want a symbol of Allen's progress look no further than the Patriots games. Last year at home against the Pats he played the worst game of his career. Single handedly lost us the game. Then the 2nd game he played decently well but missed a few too many throws and fell short at the end. This year at home he wasn't asked to do much but he made no major mistakes and played a really solid game manager role in a win. Then today he utterly dominated them. A crazy leap from where he started.

I think his left shoulder was in a sling then....he had a flat 4 game stretch where you could tell he was playing hurt.

false equivalence all Bills Top tier QBs names start with J not all QBs in Buffalo whose names start with J are top tier.

JP didn’t use his actual name, which was a schoolboy error. Arm to succeed, smarts to fail. Gotta use that full Christian name. ;)

A baker's dozen thoughts on the game:

1. Did my eyes deceive me?  Was that a fake punt from our Buffalo Bills?  A fake punt in the first quarter from our own 35?  Yeah baby!

2. Diggs not one, not two but three TDs.  Happy for the guy.  He does all the grunt work.  Nice to see him rewarded with a statement game for OPOY.

3. I heard in the broadcast NE had 11 DBs active for the game.  11!!!! Who has that many?  Didn't seem to help.

4. Needed Bojo one time and he uncorked it.

5. Was not worried for Poyer after he bounced off of Newton.  He looked more annoyed than hurt on the way into the locker room.  It's easy to forget how big and strong Newton is.

6. Nice to see them shut down the run after that first quarter.  Still a lingering concern for me.  Teams determined to run, can find some room against the DLine.

7.  Finished the game with only 3 penalties.  No shooting themselves in the foot last night.  That has to be a season low.

8.  Taiwan Johnson had his moment and he let it slip away.  Knox more than redeemed himself with his chances after the drop.  He had some pretty catches and should have an entry in the toe-drag swag.  Watching Belichick assault that phone was pure, unadulterated delight.

9.  It was nice to see Dion Dawkins get some post game interviews too.  Dude is a pleasure to listen to.  Very insightful and composed.

10.  Stats:  Buf 3 NE 0 sacks; Buf 474-201 Off; Buf 344-56 Passing ; BUF 39-21 ToP; Buf 5-0 TFL.  That my friends is how you dominate a team. CURB STOMPED on MNF for all the world to see.

11.  How nice was it to hear them trash the Patriots all night long on MNF?  Trash them, bury them and rarely mourn them.

12.  Belichick's post game interview was pure gold.  My paraphrase:  We lost because we were out played in all three areas of the game, we were out coached and out executed.  We lost to the better team.  Dude was pouting.

13. My absolute favorite play was the deep bomb to Davis leading 31-9.  Now that was definite payback for the 56-10 game.  That was in your face football.  That was SIT DOWN!! We no longer respect you nor fear you.

Very, very satisfying win.  Maybe both Newton and Bill Belichick will exit the league after this season.  I certainly hope so.

That fake punt was a surprise, and (obviously) I'm glad that it worked.  It made a statement against a team that used to do cutesy stuff against its opponents all the time, including the drop kick field goal c/o of Doug Flutie, and basically put New England on notice that a whooping was about to commence.  Which it did.

The best part of that punt was they could have thrown it to the left or to the right. Both gunners were left unguarded.

IDK did you see BB with Sean MC at the end of the game?  BB spent a solid 1-2 minutes talking to Sean with his arm around him and patting him on the back.  Probably said "hey if OC or DC opens up on your club I'll take it"  LOL!  And yeah I would take him, especially if Daboll leaves

#6 Best way to help your D shut down the run is to get them a nice lead and force them to throw.
