I'll give Goodell props, he's got a giant set of brass ones on him to basically tell the world, "Screw you and your social distancing. This is gosh-darn football and we ain't stoppin' anything. Kickoff is Thursday, Sept 10th....like it, or gtfo!"......ok. Well, let's see if it works.

It took a global pandemic for people to give Goodell credit for anything.  LOL.

Given who we have to play I’m really pleased with this schedule.

I’m just tired of playing the Titans once again.

They've replaced the Chiefs as the "how the hell do we play this team every year?" team.

Who is the biggest winner of the schedule?

The Patriots. Five prime-time games even without Brady. Two games at home to finish the season. Their L.A. games in back-to-back weeks so they can stay out there in between. Second-half road games are in Houston, L.A. and Miami, so no road games in cold weather. Lots of folks are going to pick Buffalo in the AFC East, but New England's schedule seems to set up in a helpful way for the 11-time defending division champs.

Why does New England get so many advantages without Tom Brady?

Looks like the league has a vested interest in keeping this team in the conversation amongst the better teams in the league.

Hopefully the Bills keep them below them in the standings

Am I In the minority to think this schedule is easy? Its normally doom and gloom with tough schedules most years, but:

jets suck

dolphins suck

patriots dont have brady

cardinals suck

raiders suck

we play all west coast teams at home

chargers dont have rivers

broncos suck

i see two almost guaranteed losses:  chiefs and 49ers. the rest of the games im not scared of a single team. The steelers arent what they used to be either.

12-4 here we come.

GO BILLS!!!!

Chiefs game will be close.  I think it’ll be reminiscent of the Ravens game last season.

The Broncos have a really good roster, if Lock has an Allen-like year two they will not be easy to beat in Denver.

The Jets suck, but have always been annoying, we've won only 8 of the last 19 against them, 3-5 since a nice win streak during the Marrone/Ryan years.

The Cardinals also got a lot better, and were already giving tough teams fits at the end of last season.

I don't think any team on this schedule is as bad as Cincy and Miami and Eli's Giants and the Skins were when we played each of them last season. We have a harder version of Tennessee compared to last year as well. It's tough. I think we'll be ready though

Is there even a need to watch the debates this year? I think the majority of people are already decided one way or the other and no debate is going to change their minds. It's a mere formality. So no need to sit in front of the TV and get frustrated and angry every time the guy you don't like speaks. There is Bills primetime football to watch instead!

I am stunned by this schedule. It feels so strange (because it's been so long) to have the NFL and media showing the Bills respect. I know some people felt like the rebuild was moving too slow, especially after the 2018 season. But as Sean and Brandon have been saying, they didn't want to just buy a quick turnaround and then fall off again, they were going to build a team that could have sustained success. And while that build to a good team may have been a bit slow for some, the ascension to (at least) AFC Championship Game contention came more quickly that I thought it could. Of course, they still have to prove it on the field first, but I really think they are going to do exactly that this year.

A storm is coming NFL. A lake-effect squall fueled by a lifetime of disappointments, and it goes by the name of the Buffalo Bills/#BillsMafia.

Why does New England get so many advantages without Tom Brady?

Is it really advantageous having a first year starting quarterback play five prime time games?  Also, "no road games in cold weather" doesn't seem like a big deal considering they're built for the cold weather.

The networks have to make their requests prior to the Superbowl is the line. But then Tampa gets 5 prime time games as well and I am not sure who was requesting them back in February.

I like having bandwagon fans.  It means we're good.

I’m the opposite. You don’t get to enjoy the good without surviving the bad. This holds especially true for the Bills who’ve long suffered. Our loyalty through those down years and heartbreak make us who we are. That’s why we are the greatest fan base in all of sports (and I believe that). No one rides with their team, good or bad, like we do.

Preach, brother.  I've worn my Bills fandom like a badge of honor here in NC for the past 20+ years...I'm all for the Bills picking up new fans, but don't come and tell me you've "always been a fan" but were conspicuously absent during the down times.

you can play this critical game every year with respect to the schedule and find a reason why team X is dangerous. It is the NFL after all.

But right now, being objective, the Jets were not good, the Dolphins were not good, the Patriots no longer have Brady, the Chargers dont have Rivers, the Broncos were not good, the Raiders were not good, and the Cardinals were not good.

Cardinals - 5-10-1

Jets - 7-9

Dolphins - 5-11

Raiders - 7-9

Chargers - 5-11

Broncos - 7-9

Thats 8 games vs teams with a losing record last year, 3 of which were brutally bad. The Steelers dont scare me like they used to. The Titans arent a perennial powerhouse. The Rams appear to be going backwards. The Patriots should not be an automatic 2 losses now. If we dont split against them then thats on us.

The Seahawks, Chiefs, 49ers will be the toughest games where we probably wont be favored to win.

Bills fans are weird, they complain when we don’t get love and respect from the national media. Then when we do, they don’t like it and would rather go back to being the forgotten underdogs.

Not a chance it’s as easy as last years cake walk....it won’t even come close, IMO.

The Bills have a good roster but it wouldn’t shock me if they only won 9-10 games due to the schedule this season..... Cardinals are going to be a good team, IMO. Raiders should also be improved and the game is on the west coast. Broncos should be another improved team.

It’s not guna be easy. Good thing is the rest of the division is in the same situation, but the winner of the division won’t come anywhere close to getting the first round BYE in the playoffs, IMO. I think whoever wins the division is more likely the 4th seed.

Good post.

i guess im just being optimistic in May. Other than the Seahawks, 49ers, and Chiefs, not a single team we play has a QB that is clearly better than ours (I dont consider big ben clearly better at this point in his career).

We already know our defense is going to be better than most, so when you factor in that our QB is also going to be better than most of the teams’ QB’s we’re playing, I see a lot of wins for us.

worst case i see 10-6. Best case 12-4.

Again, i understand we’re in May. Stuff happens.

Assuming most key contributors stays healthy I think absolute worst case is 8-8... and that’s if Allen really takes a step back. Too early to say Allen is better than most of the QBs on the schedule they face. Outside of the guys you mentioned, a lot of non Bills fans would argue Goff, Carr, Murray, and Darnold are all better than Allen at this point.

Fair enough. I dont.

I see at least a 10 win season and potentially 12/13 wins if Josh really takes a solid step forward.

I got us 5-1 in the division.  And it’s not out of the question that we could sweep our division, we have the best roster and are well coached.

Likely beat Raiders, Rams, Cardinals, Chargers.

Will Get at least 2 to 4 wins from Seattle, SF, KC, Titans, Pitt and Denver.  While tougher, we are capable of winning any of these games.

So my final prediction:  12 Wins, division title, at least make the AFCC game.

I think we are going to surprise some people, even here.

Alphadawg, I hope you're right w/ the 12+ wins. But what concerns me is how the Bills finished last year. They went 1 - 3 in the last 4 games of the regular season, and in the playoff game they were up on the Texans 16 - zip mid-way through the 3rd quarter and ended up losing that one. That's part coaching, as well as the players fault. If the Bills want to play

with the "Big Dogs", they've got to do better than that.  And I hope they do.

The league set up the schedule that each Week 2 opponent has the same bye week to make up the game.

Due this JEST and Phish play each other in consecutive weeks although bye week between them.

You consider NJ Jests "Big Dogs?"  Why because they have slobber a lot?

So you think results would have been the same if last two games mattered to the Bills rather than having their playoff position being determined by week 15 already?

I don’t disagree with you there at all.  But teams need to go through that to grow, we were really young and also not a fully built and missing some key weapons.

I think this year is the year we are ready and adding an elite proven veteran weapon like Diggs will go a long way in us taking that step this year vs say maybe not til next year if we had drafted a rookie to start opposite Brown.

I haven’t been this excited and confident in a Bills team in over 20 years.  Our coaches are smart, so I think they will learn from their mistakes too.  Especially Daboll needs to or he will be replaced if not.  Of course If he does, he may be replaced also because he will prob get a HC job if we are a top 10 offense with a deep playoff run.

I find it embarrassing that some fans start acting like we won the Super Bowl last year because we got bounced in the first round of the playoffs. Just because Tom Brady left NE doesn’t mean we can act like we’re the Pats until we actually have won something.

Killer schedule.  Besides the four primetime games, there is some good news:

* No games against teams coming off bye, but the Bills play LAC week 10 after a bye.

* No games against teams coming off a mini-bye, but the Bills play NYJ week 7 after playing KC.

* Thursday night game is at home following @TENN.

Remember the days where the Bills would face several teams coming off bye or mini-bye each year?  It happened for more than a couple years in a row.  I'm not sure how much say each front-office has in the overall schedule, but I have a feeling the change is in part due to coach MD's competitive spirit compared to his predecessors and other coaches around the league.

You can be confident without being arrogant. I guess after 20 years of watching Pats fans act insufferable after winning Super Bowls, you’ve decided to act the exact same way after we lose in the Wild Card round lol.
