Nah I'd want Roberts if he can go. He is very reliable on the KR and PR's and can possibly break one at any time. He never muffs the punts or kickoffs. I entirely trust Roberts as a return man.

Fans take things for granted unless there’s a splash play that hurts the team.

They also don’t tend think guys are contributing unless they do something special.

Roberts has been very good all year despite not breaking a long TD return.

I actually want Roberts out.  He doesn't do enough.  Would rather have Duke or Yeldon active.  Or EJ gainse brought in, due to the Wallace situation.  Seems like a better use of a roster spot.

Disagree. He is as sure handed as they come on a punt return and you can’t afford a turnover on special teams in a pressure playoff moment.

He contributes mostly on punt returns (top 10) and as WR depth.  But he is also 4th in the league in kick return average.  He should definitely be active.

Having Roberts has significantly reduced my blood pressure on punts as well. Ray Ray made me cray cray. Roberts plays if healthy.

Agree he has had some very good returns. If he is healthy it is a weapon on the ST that Texans have to worry about. And easy want Duke Williams on field can easily deactivate Senorise Perry OR even Robert Foster

Foster is a gunner on ST

was he brought into the Bills to do that?  Once you answer that you will see how asinine that question is

Wasn't he brought in for that occasional break out return that can turn a game? Has he done that? When you become a Bills fan I will continue to discuss this with you. BTW, you started it.

Ha ha ha ha

he was brought in to return. He has done that at a top 10 level. So want to keep trying to say who are actual Bills fans?  It’s ok if you feel inadequate as a fan.

Huh....so when I think return Specialist I think Devin Hester or Donte Hall. Roberts has not had that season. At this point we cant get a spark on our ST for our lives. If I am in charge I want to find a way to spark my best way to score. That is on offense.  Also my fan card has been punched. Lets Go Bills!

McD has prioritized special teams at the expense of the offense all year. I expect the same Saturday. DiMarco, Perry, Julian Stanford, etc. offer zip to their respective sides of the ball, but will be active. Look, I get it, someone has to play ST, but it’s more important to me that we give Josh every available weapon to score points (e.g., Duke, Yeldon, Sweeney). I refuse to believe those 3 guys, who have played football their entire lives, can’t run down the field and make a Ficken tackle on special teams, or at least redirect them toward someone that can.

Cool. Have the rules changed a bit since Devin Hester it Donte Hall?

It's been nice not having to worry about our returners doing stupid things and turning the ball over. I'd rather keep Roberts active for that reason. Last thing we need is a muffed punt.

Activate Duke AND Yeldon by deactivating Foster and Gore. But I doubt they'd do that to Gore.

I'll take Gore over Yeldon.

Wiliams over Foster is fine with me and have advocated for a few times already this year

When you think “return specialist” you think of generational talents? Hester is one of the top returners of all time, ever.

Having someone who can change the game even a little bit is better than having a punt catcher.

Like 108 yards receiving. That was my point. Meanwhile Isaiah left 6 yards on average(he returned 21 avg compared to 27 avg for Roberts) and Roberts was taking them out of the endzone to net "28" yards when leaving it in the endzone would have gave us 25.

I think McKenzie does too much stuff to sit......there are plenty of candidates for this

Foster

Krosft

The TE that commits a penalty every other play

If Wallace cant go you can roll with the player behind him and not activate a corner?  We have some guys playing safety that can also play corner

Sounds like Nsekhe had a scare.  Bad ankles/calves, etc can get into your head.

Real good he is back, especially with Watt being back.  Need all hands, even for an 80% Watt.

I think having both of them active helps against Watt. You need to play full effort vs Watt even when he is injured and defenses try to wear offense lines down and this will help keep both fresh.  In addition it will be useful at times to have a 6th lineman of field and Ford is great at run blocking and Nsekhe is better at containing a speed rusher on those plays.

Foster looked like a beast that one game on the few crossers he ran. I think he got nicked up that game or the next. If he is healthy I’m not entirely sure Duke is a better start. The Texans lack speed in the secondary and Foster could be a key in exploiting that.

Also, game is in a dome and on turf. Allen should have his best chance at a few deep balls in months.

Stunned that Nsekhe practiced.

I wonder if what happened in the game wasn’t a scare more than a real injury. The exact type of play occurred where he got rolled up from behind. Maybe a mental scare. Either way glad he was practicing and hope he is a full go Saturday.

Slick isn't going to sit.

They deliberately ran a TON of ghost motion and jet sweeps with him in week 17 to get it on film for Saturday.

I fully expect that ghost motion will be a big part of their offensive game plan. Expect a few misdirection plays from it--an Allen sweep, a dump off to Knox/Kroft, a naked wheel route for a deep shot, etc.

If he's not in the game, you don't get the buy in from the defense's film study.

until he muffs it or fumbles like he has before many times

He also give up yards by not fielding some punts and letting them roll past him. He did it vs. the Jets at it cost them 12 yards. Those are twelve yards that don't show up on a stat sheet. If it doesn't show up in the stats I guess it’s not important.

Roberts is vastly superior the McKenzie as a returner. Sloppy ST would kill a team who relies on defense to win. Not sure why many fans don't realize the importance of that phase of the game.

Agree.  Everything si going to be dictated by the matchups.

Roberts can change the game in an instant with a PR or KR.  Just because he hasn't broken a long one yet this year doesn't mean it can't happen Saturday.

If he did we would probably just be flagged for illegal block in the back.

They have done that every week for over a month.  Maybe ran the actual Jet sweep twice.

you could make a similar statement about pretty much any player.

Wallace has no chance to play. They will be fine with Fuller out and K. Johnson.

Need Lawson the most. Nsekhe being able to go would be a plus but Ford will play the entire game.

I would bench Foster for Duke.  I just don't see what Foster brings that Brown and McKenzie can not. Duke brings size and hands.

Why would you say Wallace has no chance? If he’s practicing, albeit with a wrapped ankle, what leads you to believe that he won’t be ready Saturday evening?

They’ve mixed it in for sure; Sunday it felt like every other snap was Slick in ghost motion.

Either way, I think they’ve been playing the long game with it, and I expect to see some payoff.
