Kay say Tre the Best CB

Recommended Posts

We love Kay Adams, right? In this segment, they go ‘round the room discussing who the best CB playing today is. Ms. Adams believes it’s Tre White.

I love the Survivor Series comparison for 2018.

They all seem like nice people but this show is pretty hard to take seriously.

How bout the first round CB's in 2017?

Marshon Latimore

Marlon Humphrey

Andoree Jackson

Gareon Conley (is he any good)

And Tre.

Serious group right there... 3 or 4 of the best CBs in the league!

Kenny Golloday says otherwise.

Tre 'D' gotta get Golloday back before he can be mentioned as being the best.

Just glad, in spite of McDermott being played into gift wrapping Mahommes by his mentor, Andy Reid, that the Bills have White.

Yeah, I mean who wants fun and positivity with their football?

We need more crummy garbage spewers like Sullivan and every local ny sports radio jockey.

It was better before, I haven’t seen them much lately but I was home today and they seemed ridiculous.

“Talk about it” Holy smokes if that ever catches on I’m going to lose it.

Pretty sure there isn't a single CB in the league today, even the elites of the elites, who hasn't had a rough game in their prime.

Jay Skurski has a really good Q&A with Tre on TBN.  (paywall)

https://buffalonews.com/2019/05/23/buffalo-bills-nfl-tredavious-white-skurski/

Couple key points:

1) points out that Tre's passes defensed numbers seemed to take a step back because he just wasn't thrown at as much:

" As a rookie, White was targeted 81 times, according to analytics website Pro Football Focus. That number dropped to 52 times in 2018. White's coverage snaps per reception was 17.5, according to PFF, which ranked fifth in the NFL among 80 players who were in on at least 350 coverage snaps. Simply put, quarterbacks just didn't throw White's way as much last season. "

2) Tre says he got too caught up on taking a guy out at times:

"When I was shadowing guys, I sort of lost focus of the whole defense and just got into one-on-one battles. That's never good, because you leave your teammates out to dry sometimes. It's a selfish way to play, because you're going out there and you just want to dominate this one guy when overall there's a defensive scheme that you have to follow. ........Going into this year, whenever I'm trailing guys, I won't let that happen."

Team game

3) On Vontae:

"I know him on a personal level, and we still text to this day. He's one of those guys you always root for....... The conversations we've had, I understood where he was coming from when he made that move. A lot of people wouldn't because they don't know everything that goes into it, so they just think he quit on the team, but ultimately it was just a lot of things that he had going on. He had to step away from the game because he felt like his life and his future and his well-being was overall bigger than the game of football, which is true."

True, Tre, maybe he had reasons, even good reasons, but he still quit on the team by retiring at halftime.  I guess that's the "thin blue line" thing, don't expect one guy to critique a guy in the same line of work

By that logic, Revis was highly overrated and exposed as a fraud by Stevie Johnson.

IJS, Tre'D' needs to rectify that if he gets his chance again because it was a shockingly, horrible game. He just couldn't stop the bleeding.

There was also the game against the Jets, where he defended Robby Anderson and gave up the big gain late that allowed the go-ahead TD, in the Jets/Darnold comeback win.

He has to take his game to a higher level, otherwise he will continue to be thought of as being a Tier 2 CB.

And Revis used to get eaten alive by Stevie Johnson.

What I glean is that as long as White continues to allow completions, he's a 2nd tier CB. The "elites" apparently bat 1000.

I opened this thread and thought maybe it was one of those French Canadian articles translated to English. "The thrower made the skin of pig fly through the air with preciseness and muscle while the catcher gave the defender false intentions in order to receive the oval."

I’m really hoping for his sake he’s drunk. Sadly I don’t think he is.

Let’s not forget that he was “ride or die” for peterman until the very end.

I dont know of anyone, bills fan, media, or other teams fans, that know football and think white is “tier 2”

Revis was well-established and made the Pro Bowl in each of those seasons.
