Been far more impressive than Josh Allen. I'm glad to have him. I really trust McDermott with LB's and DB's. Love the additions of Edmunds, Phillips and Johnson.

Always helpful to compare a LB to a rookie QB.   Kind of like how my dog is far more impressive than my lawnmower.

Well so far, McBeane's ability to draft on defense is good. Tre/Edmonds/Johnson/Milano/Phillips. - well done (clap clap)

Now it's time to do what we can to fix the offense. It's hard to evaluate how much falls on DaBoll, how much falls on Allen for not being able to execute and how much falls on the OL/WR.  My guess

DaBoll - 40% to blame. Should have been able to work the run game in. Why did it take 5 games.

Allen- 25% - he's got to read the field and work on the fundamentals of his accuracy issues with his mechanics

WR- 25%. KB is an open wound on the field. He hurts the offense with his inability to win any contested catch or get open. The others would not be on any other NFL roster.

OL - 9%. There's been a few jail breaks, but they kept bringing depth in and made the move to put Groy on the bench. They are now serviceable.

RB- 1%. Shady's dance moves create his own problems on negative plays, but he is our best player on O.

His closing speed on Mariota was crazy.  It’s like he hit a turbo boost on Xbox.

Lol, yeah that was pretty amazing to see.  I guess we are seeing why some of the Bills vets say he is going to be a Hall of Famer...dude just has ability that so few others have for his position.  Remember not too long ago when MLB's were the big, slow plodders that stopped the run?  The game really has changed and changed pretty quickly in a lot of ways...

I can't wait for him to not be voted defensive rookie of the year.

I think Denzel “Hurt My Feelings” Ward is the front runner. If he doesn’t get it, Derwin James is right there. Going to be tough for my guy Tremaine but it’s a long season. Some rookies start off hot and then hit a wall.

Not to mention a defensive minded head coach committed to putting pieces around the linebacker, constantly bringing in new defensive guys through waivers/FA, meanwhile they just now decided it might be a good idea to put a vet backup QB in the meeting room with the rookie.

Dude has played every snap (didn't see him come off yesterday) and is producing and getting better every week.  Big stars I like here.  2 FF and 5 PD.  He's a playmaker.

Works for me.

The boo birds have to keep in mind he’s been thrown in the deep end.

Considering how “ mental” he is being forced to be these stats are amazing???

It is a great stat line, esp for a rook. On pace for 125ish tackles, making impact plays, and is getting visually better every game.

Yesterday I thought he took a huge leap in calling the D as he was always communicating back there.

We have a new record!  Took 4 posts to turn a positive about the bills into a negative about josh Allen!  Baby steps people, last week would have been only 3 posts.

And just think he is STILL swimming and drinking from the fire hose. Wait until it really starts to slow down for him

Exactly

Imagine Khalil Mack opposite him and Hughes. I think McBeane dropped the ball on that one. Would've given the farm and some herd for that

Improving every week , already a nightmare for opposing DCs.

I loved the play where he was in a zone , saw Mariota scanning field and just accelerates at a ridiculous speed towards Mariota almost getting the sack , forcing an incompletion. You can tell Mariota was shocked at his speed and acceleration

Not much more they could do considering they tried to trade for him and the raiders wanted to send him to the nfc. How did they drop the ball?

Didn't know they tried to acquire him. Didn't see any details about it. Any idea what the Bills wanted to offer them?

They inquired and apparently made an offer. Since the Raiders were pretty set on trading Mack out of Conference, (and the Bears paid a steep price )the Bills would have needed to pay even more.

Pretty sure he's the next jersey I'm going to buy.

Haha, nice. I haven't bought a jersey in well over a decade but yesterday I had the same thought. If I do grab one, I think it'll be #49.

And yeah, it's been fun watching Edmunds out there. It's insane that his size alone is enough to make QBs pause about going over the middle. Add his size to his range on the field and he takes away throwing lanes all over the field. He's always around the ball, his first step usually goes in the right direction and with each week, he's showing better instincts, better reaction time, etc. He's only five games in and already he has coaches talking about how quickly he improves, how the game is already slowing down for him and how the sky really is the limit for this dude. I hope he's a cornerstone on this defense for the next 10-12 years. Right alongside Tre' White, Harrison Phillips, even Taron Johnson if he keeps playing how he has. Matt Milano as well. People can doubt all they want, but those doubts are based on the fact that these people aren't seeing immediate results. It takes time, but they're doing this the right way. Edmunds, White and Milano, three full-time starters on their rookie deals. Taron Johnson, Harrison Phillips, both on rookie deals. Then they have a handful of veterans under 30 years of age all playing on very manageable contracts, followed up by a number of long-time veterans leading this team and preparing to pass the torch after this season (i.e. I think Kyle and Lorenzo both retire after this season. Kyle for sure, he can still play but I think time has finally caught up with him. Lorenzo, I like how they've moved him around this season, I think they're smart to do that. Both have their contracts end after this year.)

So, what exactly would you have given up for Mack?  I'd bet same people complaining the Bills didn't get him would be crying that the Bills gave up too much.
