It's pretty easy to make a very reasonable argument for Allen, Peterman or McCarron right now. Dr.Sack Posted August 26, 2018 Share Posted August 26, 2018 I keep on hearing the narrative that Allen shouldn’t start because of A) he needs to learn and develop or B) he will get injured early in the season against the toughest part of our schedule. What I haven’t heard is why he should start. To me the reason you start Allen is A) he needs to learn on the field, B) there is no empirical evidence saying it’s better to sit or start your rookie QB. Also from a strategic perspective isn’t it wise to play Allen earlier assuming he does suffer a season ending injury? That would give him more time to heal. AJ has done jack squat to support being the day1 starter other than getting 5 mill of Pegula's cash. Peterman has easily outplayed all QB's. I'm not even sure how anyone here can debate it anymore?
