It's not so much to actual tax revenue and how it's appropriated as it is the laws that cost us more (higher taxes), and the allocation of federal tax money (since our state taxes are subsidized). Sport Gambling was allowed in Vegas and Delaware, so if there was collusion in the digital age it was going to happen anyway. They'll probably try to work in a bogus "rights" fee into the deal. Anyway, those Bengals/Browns games just go a Hell of a lot more interesting. Was the real estate crash of 2008 attributable to gambling or just Americans over-extending themselves? (i.e. buying a house that was beyond their means). And the revenues won't be huge if the lines are negatively impacted by the vigs that bookies have to pay the state and the league's. Bettors who enjoy the liberalized betting laws will shop for the best lines and will take their business off-shore. The pro leagues need to check their greed and play the long game.
