There is a difference between being a realist and someone who simply wants to push a negative agenda. Hit the nail on the head. I grew up on sports....a lot of them, and there is no room for negativity in the game. It's all about believing. You set a goal. You go after it. You imagine yourself doing what you could never do before and work toward that end. Negativity in sports is a cancer that grows and destroys your resolve. Sorry, but I never would have broken our H.S. track team's 400 hurdles record at 54.6 seconds or run a mile in less than 4mins 30secs if I did anything other than believe. This is true of any sport. Gotta have that mindset. Trash talkers love to harp on what you can't do, until you actually do it. Wouldn't have it any other way though. That's the whole reason I love the game. The challenge drove me. As a fan, it inspires me. Even now at age 52, I still love a challenge. Don't have the speed I used to but I toss a mean horseshoe. It seems that he's been trying to be too nice. I like the boisterous Rex and I haven't seen it yet - not the way it was. It almost seemed like that last year with the Jets made him feel he had to change his persona. So he kind of did a little bit of chest pounding but it didn't have that fire. I think it effected the team. I think Rex tried to mix his personality with what he thought a new team / fan base wanted him to be. I think he thought he should be a toned down version of what he was with the Jets. Well for me that isn't true - I hope the hiring of Rob and this interview is an indication that he's reverting back. I want him to be himself whether that works out or not. I would prefer less hot air. It's one thing to be confident but you look like a fool when you talk trash and KNOW you can't back it up. They also have underrated pass rushers and remain healthy somehow every year. Wade Phillips has the best 2 edge rushers in the nfl, and had the best front 7 in the nfl. Also had a solid secondary... We'll see how they do now that several of those players are gone (trevathan and jackson namely). Rob lost Galette because they paid Jordan, and had a healthy EXPENSIVE safety who wouldn't play... They lost a corner to IR and clearly had 0 depth since whoever was out there was always leaving people open. this comment should not be discounted. The Ryans are too honest say what they believe whether right or wrong. That was a great read. I'm less concerned now about the Rob hiring, football wise. He feels he's earned the right to talk bold. No coach gets a unit to play elite every year they coach. Belichick is a defensive guy and he's defenses have sucked at times too. Rex thinks he's a great defensive coach - with the fluidity of teams personal it's hard to say he's definitely wrong. So I say do your thing - be you. I want to share my unbiased opinion. I want Rex to be the head coach for a very long time. I love him. I love his passion, his loyalty and I KNOW his defenses will be nasty - not counting this past years. I am not going to worry about the way this defense shapes up for the 2016 season, because I am confident it will be fine. Go Bills! Go Rex!
