  1. Relax people the wizard Beane surely has a speed potion all mixed and ready for Keon
  2. I don't care what they've drafted in the past. I suggest "Wizard" Beane get to work and start filling these holes now. You have an elite QB, that needs the best talent possible around him to succeed. Anything less is selling this franchise short. A DT at #28 is not putting this team in the Super Bowl next year.
  3. Replacing Sexy Rexy and his brother Blubbo. Wizard Beane followed [ thanks @Alphadawg7 correction] a few months later.
  4. This sucks! Everyone knows KC special teams was built for waxing gibbous! And 'wizard' Beane has put together a roster for Waning Crescent! This is why you build a dome people! - to block out the phase of the moon! Pegula is so stupid! McD should be fired if he can't figure out how to overcome their obvious moon phase advantage! We're doomed.
  5. We have a hole at 2nd tight end. Bean seems to like these cut players to fill holes. Would not count against a comp pick right? And only 27 years old. Wizard Beane is methodically filling holes. So far addressed guard, two run stuffing DTs and a back that will help in passing game. TE, along with Corner, WR and Edge are my remaining hopes for FA and draft. Hooper would fill one!
  6. Whaley is a not a cap wizard. Beane however is
  7. After reading that article on him wanting close to 20 mil per year, AND anything more than a one year deal, please count me in the "no thank you" group. Here's my reasoning. There's still five weeks left in the regular season, plus the playoffs. Alot can happen in that time. McKenzie has really started to turn it on lately. Also, it seems like Gabe is starting to settle down, play better, more consistent football, and win more of Josh's trust. I think injuries had alot to do with his underwhelming play this year, and I'm thinking he's finally starting to get close to 100%. I haven't given up on him becoming our undisputed #2 guy. Even with his inconsistent play this year, he has still shown flashes of being the guy we all envisioned. This may not be a popular opinion, but I honestly feel like bringing in Beckham at this point could prove to be counterproductive. And we already know he's not coming here for cheap. With all the uncertainties surrounding him, I'd much rather stick with what we have than risk giving up an arm and a leg for a guy that we're not even certain is an upgrade over what we have. And as great of a wizard Beane is with the cap, to get Beckham means ultimately letting someone else walk. Just my two cents.
  8. Star L contract was a terrible deal… Isn’t that up to McD? And yet at the time 90 percent here were stroking themselves over what a “wizard” Beane was
  9. Must have been taking notes from all supreme cap wizard Beane.
  10. The real question: Is Beane still a wizard? https://www.twobillsdrive.com/community/search/?q=wizard beane&quick=1
  11. All hail Wizard Beane! As did a few in the parking lot, as I recall.
  12. I've been a big Edmunds critic but this isn't unexpected since it's a contract year combined with the best dline he's ever played behind. Obviously if it keeps up though he's likely playing his way out of Buffalo because we aren't giving a MLB a record contract next year no matter how much a wizard Beane is it's simply not going to be possible.
  13. Very true, @MAJBobby! I recall Beane said that he tried to trade up for Moss, at a couple different points in last year's draft, and nobody would swap with us. All the trade-happy draftniks out there need to keep this in mind: in the same way that Madden is not the NFL, the mock draft simulators are not the NFL draft. If Wizard Beane couldn't trade up for Moss, it just lends perspective to how the mechanics of the draft really work. Thankfully, Moss dropped, and we got our guy.
  14. I don't know that Beane is ever really done you put a really good player out in front of him he's gonna see what he can do always expect the unexpected from the Wizard Beane ...
  15. The Wizard Beane will have a solid offer for Milano. He has to in order to send a message to the rest of the team that guys will get paid commensurate with their production and availability. I don’t think it will be enough but it’s possible in this low cap upcoming season that it will be. I’d expect Beane to have a few guys on the radar in the same salary range as offered to Milano that we could make offers to to plug that hole if Milano leaves. There are going to be a lot of guys on the FA market who are salary cap casualties this season. I don’t think he will draft his replacement in the first. Edmunds is here to stay at MLB. McD LOVES the guy. I don’t necessarily agree but all this talk about Edmunds going to WLB or whatever is never going to happen. We are going to pick up his 5th year option no question and unless he implodes he will be at MLB for a loooooong time. No way Ford goes to RT, that experiment is over. I think he may be a bust but I’m hoping this season was all a result of injury and he can fill a guard spot as a solid starter. IDK. I expect Morse to get cut and Feliciano to slide over to center for this season and we draft his eventual replacement. I agree with others and hope we can retain Williams. We probably need to offer him more than we’d like but I can see Beane doing that considering what a solid job Williams did and goal #1 has to be to improve that O-line and get some running back in the offense.
  16. Its the Lee Smith trade What a franchise defining moment......your a wizard Beane;)
  17. So - I'm working on a large post but here is some food for thought for the grand wizard bean to pull out -Exercise contract clause in both of Tre and Dawkwins contracts allowing them to pay forward/move around their last year of their respective deals which frees up a total of 15 million - Extend Diggs with a smaller cap hit for this season (Let's say 5 million saved towards this year) - Cut Tyler Matakevich (save ~3.5 million) - Cut Lee Smith (save 2.25 million) Suddenly we have 20 million more to work with. *Clarification on Point #1 - Both White and Dawkins have a team optional extra year addition to their contract at the cost of giving them a 7.5 million dollar sign bonus which allows the Bills to move that amount off the books from this year and spread it out over the lifetime of each contract as they see fit *Lee Smith is thinking of retiring - and the TE market this offseason is sneaky deep - imo just CUT him and let him mull it over on his own time or get a head start on finding another team * How the hell are we paying Tyler Matakevich that much - with a dead cap hit of just 350k he should be all but gone, the worst case put Darron Lee in there from where ever the hell we stashed him.
  18. Im sure the wizard Beane has a circle of protection spell cast on him
  19. Because the Grand Wizard Beane is trying to trade him.
  20. Brandon Beane…..you have to bring in a Corner. that is no way to speak to a wizard! Beane is a wizard stick to checkers, and have some reverence
  21. can you name some successful QBs that did not make the step up in year two they needed to and didn't see real success, until year three? I mean franchise QBs that may of taken more then two years to develop? it really shouldn't include those sitting behind anyone on the bench. I could go do the research myself and would guess there are a few QBs that did find success in year 3 but I figured since you are so knowledgeable of the game, namely QBs, you would already know of such QBs who had? I mean you seem to already claim JA to be bad and rarely do they go from bad (year one) to great (year two) by year two, or so you don't think it will happen anyway? seriously, name a few that became successful (great) by year 3. can you do that? personally, I would give him 3 seasons. if he really doesn't show any (which I really don't see a decline) improvement in year two it may be time to start thinking about his replacement? either through the draft or fa and have the QB competition in year threes off season. if JA beats any one out, he gets the start in year 3 but would be on a short lease? if he still did not improve he's benched and replaced (haven't we seen something like this before?) and likely considered a bust. however, I don't see that hypothetical coming to fruition but rather I see with the added talent on (oline, wr, rb) offense he should be able to make more (successful) plays (throws) and the team, on both sides of the ball, should be competitive in 2019 only to fall short of the post season, finishing at 9-7? this is where year 3 comes in to play. the wizard Beane with yet another (his third draft) off season to work with and a draft strategy loaded up with draft picks acquired from the past trades and a draft year loaded with wr talent (among other good talent off/def) that should give even more weapons to help JA continue on his road to success? year two will be a big challenge for JA, there is no doubt (record data shows most QBs with a below 60% rating fail) that the successful rate for QBs who hold a below 60% passer rating are less likely to succeed compared to those with above 60% rating and who went on to have great careers. I know some use JK as an example of a QB who was below 60% and still had success but this is a different era where passing is a key component in today's nfl. that doesn't mean I don't believe JA could be the exception to the rule, as he very well could and can a long with the other physical attributes he brings to the game, I really believe the kid shows improvement in year two and that will cause the critics to possibly come around some. sure, it's how I see it but it looks better then the dark clouds some are already under when looking at the future of not only JA but the team as a whole. I know age has crept up on me so maybe I don't see as good as I used to but from what I have seen these last couple of years, is a team, a whole different feel of team, one that seems to be very close and all looking and reaching for the same goals that may become something special. that's just me though. one week, 7 days. we have all been waiting and wading through the off season sludge to get to week one. enjoy the ride and GO BILLS!!!
  22. It’s not Julio that’s for sure, talk about killing season ticket sales lol.. Ridley would be an extremely good get if they’re swapping picks but I don’t even believe the wizard Beane could pull that one off. If it’s Sanu as others have said I’d agree there needs to be more than just a swap. He’s a great player but Atlanta doesn’t NEED him and neither does buffalo. I wouldn’t personally swap for a complimentary player it’s gotta be a game changer.
  23. The bar was set in college. The bar is set a lot higher in the NFL. Then after you consider all the contributing factors you still won't know if a guy can cut it until he actually plays in NFL games. So they couldn't make it an exact science. It probably would change up how drafts are done if it was an exact science. You gather all the information possible and you formulate the best guess you can with all the information available. You have to understand who your drafting is a human being and not a robot. Dynamics are involved in the chances for success. Think I would have a better shot to be a successful rookie QB for the Patriots or the Browns? The difference between the pressure for that rookie to start ASAP or have them learn behind some one established. So the NFL is hard and you have more bust then guys that end up elite. That's the nature of the beast and you can't tame a beast without understanding it's nature and risk of getting your face bitten off. Bring on the Draft. I'm ready to see the Wizard Beane in action.
  24. Yes I believe McD threw this game along with throwing the previous Pats game, Browns, Ravens, and Eagles games. Its all part of his and the wizard Beane's magical process, the 5 seed is right where they want to be. Once the playoffs start they will unveil their magical golden playbook/game plan nobody will see it coming, gonna be epic.
  25. I kinda feel like the Bills ran into serious bad luck with Covid, just as we were hitting the prime time of our super bowl window, and with Josh’s rookie contact...the timing, of the cap decrease, literally came at the worst possible time, and cost us a our best shot at a title imo... Sure, we will always be in the mix because of Allen...But make no mistake- it wasn’t supposed to be this way- where we were this restricted by the cap...Had everything stayed normal, we would have had the extra cap room to sign those top players to put us over the top... In the end, you can’t help but think that it kinda makes sense that something like this happened to the Bills- it had to...After all, we are the Bills, right... And nothing ever really works out the way they’re supposed to, for our beloved team... But maybe I’m wrong, and we’ll all be shocked by a move Wizard Beane pulls off...time will tell...But the ghost of disappointment is a feisty one, and she lurks constantly, with a grin that says “I dare you”...😉
