I get it, they need picks but now they have  lost an elite talent and a guy they just resigned him to an extension in July. Once again the Jets have no direction and are just winging it as they go. Has their outlook really changed that much since July 15th? Why do that deal now and create a bunch of dead cap?

I think it is very odd for the Colts.  They probably aren't sustainably good.  Sauce has shown warts the past 2 seasons.

 

I guess it is really good for the Jets.  They need a deep rebuild and by the time they are ready to compete, Sauce will have slowed down (3 years?)

But ... doesn't anyone here think this is the ballsy kind of move that we never do? The kind of deal that could actually confirm that management finally believes that this IS the year?

Sauce has been garbage the last couple seasons with refs actually throwing flags on him for clutching and grabbing. 

 

Getting 2x1sts for him is absolute robbery. 

 

I think it's a delayed course correction for them. They shouldn't have signed Wilson and Sauce to those monster contracts going into a season with Justin Fields as their QB. 

 

If the Jets don't bungle it (like they always do) they could be a real threat by 2027
