Today is another example of why our season isn’t over (Updated - 1/7 - WE’RE IN as the 2 seed!)

At the end of the day, if the Bills miss the playoffs, while winning out, the 12 men on the field penalty will be the signature play that doomed the season.  I still can't wrap my head around how you get caught with 12 men after two successive time outs.  It's mind boggling.

Oh there will be too many to choose...Jets loss. Pats loss. Eagles loss giving up two game winning drives.

Granted.  But those were a series of plays/mistakes.  If there will be ONE play that stands out this season (like jefferson in Minny game last year), it will be an unbelievably inexcusable 12-men on the field to ***** defeat out of the jaws of victory.

Lol...probably true yet I think of the Allen fumble TD not the Jefferson reception when I think of that Minn game.

I still say it was giving a home game away to an AFC rival to play in their adopted home.

Plus we got to come home with a broken Milano and Jones for the season.

And McD's late game coaching prowess.

The Buffalo Bills season is over and the Bills have no one to blame but themselves. It’s time for the Bills players to look in the mirror enough with the forever excuses. The bottom line is the Bills weren’t good enough. Some Bills fans have to wake up the Miami Dolphins are winning the AFC East Division and that makes this Bills fan sick. Have some pride Bills fans the Dolphins are winning the AFC East enough with the excuses if any Bills fan is over 50 years I am 55 years old soon to be 56 years old in December like me it makes one sick it’s worse than the New England Patriots. The Dolphins want to make me sick they are winning the AFC East. With that out of the way carry on with the never ending excuses in my opinion. Go Bills! Let’s Go Buffalo

Hi Trollboy - happy Birthday. There are 5 games remaining, and although I agree that the Phins are going to win the east, we will be in the playoffs waiting to destroy them! The Bills ain't missing out. Big run coming, no pun intended.

Wouldn’t it be three in a row they lost the Philly

Could be wrong on this

They beat the raiders in between

If we win, it’s kind of wild that we’ll only be one game behind the Chiefs record-wise.

It definitely is a very winnable game and we could be catching them at the right time.

We should have some confidence as well, since we’ve beaten them twice the past couple years in Arrowhead.

Go Bills!

We’d also be 2-0 against arguably the two best teams in the AFC and pretty bad against the rest of the afc 😂

Perhaps. But I still worry about beating the refs. They're wizards. They see things beyond the physical world.

If there’s any conspiracies/refs picking winners type things going on I just can’t see why they’d want Cleveland,Indy or pit in the playoffs over Buffalo lol all three of those teams would get obliterated

What do you expect from a head coach and all of his assistant coach's that apparently can't count to 12.

I agree but when you lose to the Jets and Broncos it is definitely plausible

I know but I wasn’t talking about the bills I’m talking about the likelihood of Miami losing out the last three games to equal and better talent - buffalo included

  • BillsFan619 changed the title to Today is another example of why our season isn’t over (continues on 12/10)

And the examples keep piling in...

Texans get blown out by the Jets

Colts get blown out by the Bengals

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, our Bills just beat the Chiefs in their house for the third straight year at their house (regular season)

We are now tied record wise for the last playoff spot. Go Bills!

Yeah I don't understand why people think "that could never happen" when every year we see examples of 1 win teams that string a few wins together late in the year and other improbable wins that are very unlikely when looking at the matchup on paper.  Except the game isn't played on paper...if it was, the Bills would likely be tied for the 1 seed with the Ravens right now.

Too bad the Jags couldn't have pulled out the win against the Browns.

Any thing could always happen in any game but even more so this year because most of these teams we are competing for a wildcard with are flat out bad

I couldn’t help but laugh seein the posts like ‘I picked favorites and the bills have no shot at the playoffs’ and they had the Texans and Steelers at 12 wins 😂

Meanwhile the Steelers became the first team in NFL history to have a winning record and lose to teams with 8+ more losses than wins in back to back games. Steelers are a 4-9/5-8 team masquerading as a playoff team.

Two more steamroll in on the example train…

Two 7-6 teams fall today and now have seven losses.

Steelers

Broncos (most important game of the day as they have the easiest remaining schedule of almost everyone in the hunt at least on paper)

Go get it, Buffalo. Go Bills!

If only the Bungles didn't have that comeback.

It definitely would’ve been awesome for them to lose, bro.

That said, the game that was most important was the Broncos game because they have the easiest remaining schedule.

The Bengals still have the Steelers, Chiefs and Browns. I know the Steelers aren’t good, but the Bengals have not won a division game all year.

Go Bills!

Bengals winning wasn't horrible.  The point of this thread was that all of the log jammed wildcard teams weren't going to win out.   Some people are simulating half a dozen mediocre teams winning out and seeing that the Bills have no chance.  Yesterday 2/4 of the 7-6 teams lost.  That's likely to continue.  There will be a team that wins out.  Who knows which team it will be.  But no matter what you think of a teams schedule, they are likely to still lose a game or two that they shouldn't or win one you thought they had no chance in.  It's why if the Bills go 3-1 (this is a scenario assumption, not saying it will happen), they still have a pretty good shot at the wildcard.  They also have a decent shot at missing at 3-1.

People can't handle that 60% means we are more likely than not to be in at this point.  It also means we may still miss the playoffs.

At this time of the year there are no "gimme games".  Remember the Jags losing to the terrible Colts?

The Colts will probably be a wild card winner.  The Browns and Bengals will be right up there too and unfortunately the Bengals have the tie breaker.

Best chance is to win the division by winning 3 of the last 4 including the Dolphins game and the Dolphins lose to Ravens and Cowboys.
