RocCityRoller
White and Benford back!? Good times at OBD. Both should be ready for Green Bay? Poyer too!....
eball
With Tre and Benford returning, we’re going to have an embarrassment of riches in the secondary. I really hate it for Hyde that he’ll have to watch from the sidelines. 1 6

Probably too soon. That is a big cast on his hand. My guess is he is back after the bye, same as Tre.

But, having everyone healthy is definitely a good problem to have.

I think the Bills tend to manage injuries more conservatively and it is likely they want to bring Tre, Benford and Kumerow all back after the bye and get the team as close to 100% as possible heading into the long run of the season. It is possible that after the bye this team could have everyone who hadn’t suffered a long term injury back.

I'm guessing Benford will be back after the bye. I checked, and Knox missed 2 games plus a bye week.

Yes he can play. McDermott said he expected him to miss a couple games “give or take”. So we are in the window but his hand still wrapped pretty well

I see #47 in a red jersey, he is wearing two white gloves, may be some protective padding under one glove

Possibly a thin custom splint of heat moulded plastic protecting the palm and a big wad of padding to protect the suture line on the back of the hand from casual contact. I think it's actually a very good sign that they didn't club it up.
Doc
I'd wrap it up extra too in practice. And if that's the "extra," it's a good sign we might see him sooner than later.

He was not placed on IR. He had surgery about a week ago. It was his right hand. I could see vs Green Bay at the earliest.

Bills really need a bye week not only for the guys who are not playing but also for the guys that are playing through injuries. The week of rest will go a long way to getting this team as close to 100% as it can possibly be at this point. Poyer, Edumonds and Knox I would lean towards playing but it is possible that any combination of them may not play. Mac definitely looks like he will be back which is a boost. 1 1

Signed former Buffalo boy Gronk.

It could be possible, but how effective would he really be. Normally you see d line or linebacker play through with a cast but not a DB that relies on good hands as a critical part of their play.

machine gun kelly
This conversation about a brace or club, tells me someone doesn’t know what a Dback does as his hands are his weapons. It’s why there are certain positions where being a previous wrestler is a positive. It’s a fundamental in wrestling for hand fighting. You can’t do that wearing a brace. Keep him out until he’s healthy. Hopefully that’s GB as he’s already practicing and has over 2 weeks. He’s not playing Sunday.
HunTim
I strongly suspect that Benford will be allowed to fully recover, before he sees game-time again, barring emergencies. The Bills have shown consistently that this is their modus operandi regarding injuries. I for one, cant remember the last time a player was rushed back by this regime, post & non-COVID. Though I may well be wrong. I would guess, same as others above, that Benford will be back post the Bye week. Hope that made sense, slightly tipsy.

Stephen Gilmore played half a year with a club on his hand. And pretty well for the Bills. Well besides tackling, haha. 6 hours ago, streetkings01 said: Remember when Gilmore played with a club? Love that we don’t rush guys back, the players probably do too. Love that we have great facilities and medical staff. We are very deep too, let them heal. Surprised Gabe played on the bad ankle. Seems fine now though.

Not sure which team, but I think it was the Bengals……they attacked him all game and couldn’t wrap up giving up big plays.
rusty shackleford
Today's injury report shows Benford will be available. Could still be an inactive for Sunday, but it sounds like he has a good chance to be dressed. I'm assuming it will be more for insurance to dress him if someone goes down but won't see many snaps if he's still wearing the cast.
